  • In this study, we propose a scheduling analysis method of the Flexible management system using the transitive matrix. The Scheduling problem is a combination-optimization problem basically, and a complexity is increased exponentially for a size of the problem. To reduce an increase of a complexity, we define that the basic unit of concurrency (short BUC) is a set of control flows based on behavioral properties in the net. And we propose an algorithm to divide original system into some BUC. To sum up, we divide a petri net model of the Flexible management system Into the basic unit of concurrency through the division algorithm using the transitive matrix. Then we apply it to the division-scheduling algorithm to find an efficient scheduling. Finally, we verify its efficiency with an example.

  • The increasing size and complexity of deep neural networks (DNNs) necessitate the development of efficient high-performance accelerators. An efficient memory structure and operating scheme provide an intuitive solution for high-performance accelerators along with dataflow control. Furthermore, the processing of various neural networks (NNs) requires a flexible memory architecture, programmable control scheme, and automated optimizations. We first propose an efficient architecture with flexibility while operating at a high frequency despite the large memory and PE-array sizes. We then improve the efficiency and usability of our architecture by automating the optimization algorithm. The experimental results show that the architecture increases the data reuse; a diagonal write path improves the performance by 1.44× on average across a wide range of NNs. The automated optimizations significantly enhance the performance from 3.8× to 14.79× and further provide usability. Therefore, automating the optimization as well as designing an efficient architecture is critical to realizing high-performance DNN accelerators.

  • Passive dynamic walking exhibits humanoid and energy efficient gaits. However, optimal design of passive walker at multi-variable level is not well studied yet. This paper presents a Chaotic Particle Swarm Optimization (CPSO) algorithm and applies it to the optimal design of flexible passive walker. Hip torsional stiffness and damping were incorporated into flexible biped walker, to imitate passive elastic mechanisms utilized in human locomotion. Hybrid dynamics were developed to model passive walking, and period-one gait was gained. The parameters global searching scopes were gained after investigating the influences of structural parameters on passive gait. CPSO were utilized to optimize the flexible passive walker. To improve the performance of PSO, multi-scroll Jerk chaotic system was used to generate pseudorandom sequences, and chaotic disturbance would be triggered if the swarm is trapped into local optimum. The effectiveness of CPSO is verified by comparisons with standard PSO and two typical chaotic PSO methods. Numerical simulations show that better fitness value of optimal design could be gained by CPSO presented. The proposed CPSO would be useful to design biped robot prototype.

  • The fuel cell is a very promising power generation system combining the benefits of extremely low emissions, high efficiency, ease of maintenance and durability. In order to promote the commercialization of fuel cells, a flexible forming process, in which a hyper-elastic rubber is adopted as a medium to transmit forming pressure, is suggested as an efficient and cost effective manufacturing method for fuel cell bipolar plates. In this study, the ability of this flexible forming process to produce the micro channel arrays on metallic bipolar plates was first demonstrated experimentally. Then, a finite element (FE) model was built and validated through comparisons between simulated and experimental results. The effects of key process parameters on the forming performance such as applied load and punch velocity were investigated. As a result, appropriate process parameter values allowing high dimensional accuracy without failure were suggested.

  • Most of scheduling papers on FMS have been considered that the fabrication process, the machining process and the assembly process etc. are independent and the releasing, routing, dependent, batching, loading problem are treated separetely. In this paper, we discuss that the integrated scheduling problem which can be solved for efficient use. We combine two systems that each process system which in order to produce a product is treated dependently, the releasing and the routing problem are combined one system and we present the efficient flexible manufacturing system as including the alternate process.

  • Flash reduction of graphene oxide is an efficient method for producing high quality reduced graphene oxide under room temperature ambient conditions without the use of hazardous reducing agents (such as hydrazine and hydrogen iodide). The entire process is fast, low-cost, and suitable for large-scale fabrication, which makes it an attractive process for industrial manufacturing. Herein, we present a simple fabrication method for a flexible in-plane graphene micro-supercapacitor using flash light irradiation. All carbon-based, monolithic supercapacitors with in-plane geometry can be fabricated with simple flash irradiation, which occurs in only a few milliseconds. The thinness of the fabricated device makes it highly flexible and thus useful for a variety of applications, including portable and wearable electronics. The rapid flash reduction process creates a porous graphene structure with high surface area and good electrical conductivity, which ultimately results in high specific capacitance ($36.90mF\;cm^{-2}$) and good cyclic stability up to 8,000 cycles.

  • In this study, we have investigated the structural and electrical characteristics of IZO thin films deposited under hydrogen atmosphere on flexible substrate for the OLED (organic light emitting diodes) devices. For this purpose, PES was used for flexible substrate and IZO thin films were deposited by RF magnetron sputtering under hydrogen ambient gases (Ar, $Ar+H^2$) at room temperature. In order to investigate the influences of the hydrogen, the flow rate of hydrogen in argon mixing gas has been changed from 0.1sccm to 0.5sccm. All the samples show amorphous structure regardless of flow rate. The electrical resistivity of IZO films increased with increasing flow rate of $H^2$ under $Ar+H^2$. All the films showed the average transmittance over 85% in the visible range. The OLED device was fabricated with different IZO electrodes made by configuration of IZO/$\acute{a}$-NPD/DPVB/$Alq_3$/LiF/Al to elucidate the performance of IZO substrate. OLED devices with the amorphous-IZO (a-IZO) anode film show good current density-voltage-luminance characteristics. This suggests that flat surface roughness and low electrical resistivity of a-IZO anode film lead to more efficient anode material in OLED devices.

  • This paper presents an efficient method for determining the forced response of a spinning flexible disk-spindle system supported by fluid dynamic bearings(FDBs) in a computer hard disk drive(HDD). The spinning flexible disk-spindle system is represented by the asymmetric finite element equations of motion originating from the asymmetric dynamic coefficients of the FDBs and the gyroscopic moment of a spinning disk-spindle system. The proposed method utilizes only the right eigenvectors of the eigenvalue problem to transform the large asymmetric finite element equations of motion into a small number of coupled equations, guaranteeing the accuracy of their numerical integration. The results are then back-substituted into the equations of motion to determine the forced response. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by comparing it with the responses from the classical methods of mode superposition with the general eigenvalue problems, and mode superposition with modal approximation. The proposed method was shown to be effective in determining the forced response represented by the asymmetric finite element equations of motion of a spinning flexible disk-spindle system supported by FDBs.

  • Graphene films have a strong potential to replace indium tin oxide anodes in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), to date. However, the luminous efficiency of OLEDs with graphene anodes has been limited by a lack of efficient methods to improve the low work function and reduce the sheet resistance of graphene films to the levels required for electrodes. Here, we fabricate flexible OLEDs by modifying the graphene anode to have a high work function and low sheet resistance, and thus achieve extremely high luminous power efficiencies (37.2 lm/W in fluorescent OLEDs, 102.7 lm/W in phosphorescent OLEDs), which are significantly higher than those of optimized devices with an indium tin oxide anode (24.1 lm/W in fluorescent OLEDs, 85.6 lm/W in phosphorescent OLEDs). We also fabricate flexible white OLED lighting devices using the graphene anode. These results demonstrate the great potential of graphene anodes for use in a wide variety of high-performance flexible organic optoelectronics.

  • The aim of this study was to develop a new efficient strategy that uses the Vector form Intrinsic Finite-element (VFIFE) method to conduct the static and dynamic analyses of marine pipes. Nonlinear problems, such as large displacement, small strain, and contact and collision, can be analyzed using a unified calculation process in the VFIFE method according to the fundamental theories of point value description, path element, and reverse motion. This method enables analysis without the need to integrate the stiffness matrix of the structure, because only motion equations of particles established according to Newton's second law are required. These characteristics of the VFIFE facilitate the modeling and computation efficiencies in analyzing the nonlinear dynamic problem of flexible pipe with large deflections. In this study, a three-dimensional (3-D) dynamical model based on 3-D beam element was established according to the VFIFE method. The deep-sea flexible pipe was described by a set of spatial mass particles linked by 3-D beam element. The motion and configuration of the pipe are determined by these spatial particles. Based on this model, a simulation procedure to predict the 3-D dynamical behavior of flexible pipe was developed and verified. It was found that the spatial configuration and static internal force of the mining pipe can be obtained by calculating the stationary state of pipe motion. Using this simulation procedure, an analysis was conducted on the static and dynamic behaviors of the flexible mining pipe based on a 1000-m sea trial system. The results of the analysis proved that the VFIFE method can be efficiently applied to the static and dynamic analyses of marine pipes.
