  • The objective of this research was to provide an objective and scientific basis for the effect of mid-advertising on viewers' rights by conducting an empirical study on how mid-program advertising affects viewer satisfaction and interest from the viewers' perspective. The experiment was conducted on 210 subjects to investigate the difference between viewers' interest in the program and purchase intention price. The results did not support the hypothesis that advertisements inserted in the middle of television programs would affect the dependent variables. • Purpose - Korean Wave that overspreads around Asia and America, especially the Korean beauty wave, has reached Mongolia and Mongolian consumers. Mongolia consumers usually prefer foreign cosmetic brands to local brands, because the local brands cannot satisfy fast changing needs and wants of local consumers. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on previous studies about life style of Mongolian consumers, advertisement properties and consumer behaviors, we propose a research model and related hypothesis. In order to test hypotheses, we analyzed 366 survey data out of 376 by eliminating improper 10 responses. Factor analysis and reliability analysis was conducted by SPSS 22.0. We used multiple regression analysis and parameter analysis to test the relation between variables. Results - As exploring the Mongolian consumers' current usage of cosmetic products, we found that the customers' focus is how the products fit with their skin. Mongolian consumers often get the information about cosmetic products through TV and internet. Mongolian consumers show positive attitudes on the appearance of Korean celebrities in responsibility, while there is no significant effect on attractiveness. Mongolian consumer's behaviors toward brand have positive effect on both responsibility and attractiveness of Korean commercial celebrities. Responsibility and attractiveness of Korean commercial celebrities have positive effect on the behaviors toward advertisements of cosmetic products. Conclusions - Behaviors toward advertisements of cosmetic products have positive effect on both purchase intention and loyalty of customer. Responsibility and attractiveness of Korean commercial celebrities have positive effect on mediating variable of behavior toward advertisement and independent variable of purchase intention. Responsibility and attractiveness of Korean commercial celebrities have positive effect on mediating variable of behavior toward advertisement and independent variable of loyalty of customer. In order to improve the effect of advertisements, firms need to consider not only the technique of the model but also the image of model in regard to trust and professionalism appealing to consumers. In addition, firms need to choose the model who fits in with the image of the firms and the products and service of the firms. Finally, Mongolian consumers tend to acquire the shopping information through TV advertisements, especially featuring Korean popular stars, thus, TV advertisements can be a wise option in Mongolian cosmetic market.

  • The purpose of this study is to figure out the effects of advertisements (functional value, sentimental value, self-expressing value) depending on the gender in regard of the attitude towards the advertisement, brand attitude, purchase intention, and the characteristic and quality of the product. From the study on the university students, there was a meaningful interaction among the independent variables in regard of attitude towards advertisement, brand attitude, purchase intention, and characteristic of the product in the four dependent measurements used for the index of advertisement effects. In terms of the attitude towards advertisements, brand attitude, purchase intention, and the characteristic of the product according to the gender and value suggestion, functional convenience was more influential for men compared to the sentimental convenience and self-expressing value. On the other hand, self-expressing value was more influential for women in terms of the advertisement effect and the characteristic of the product. The main effects depending on the gender were common in four dependent values such as attitude towards advertisement, brand attitude, purchase intention and characteristic of the product, and the average of all values was higher from women. Thereby, it can be said that women show more positive advertisement effects in terms of attitude and purchase than men. The main effects on the value suggestion were meaningfully indicated in advertisement attitude, brand attitude, and characteristic of the product except the purchase intention. Also, the functional and self-expressing value made better advertisement effect, while the sentimental value showed a comparatively lower advertisement effect. In terms of the sentimental value, a comparatively low advertisement effect was shown statistically compared to the functional and self-expressing value in all dependent values, but there was no big difference depending on the gender. That is, in terms of the sentimental value, a separate value suggesting advertisement can be more influential when it is combined with the functional value for men, and for women if it is combined with self-expressing value.

  • The Korea Expressway Corporation announced that road casualties on expressways in 2016 were 262 deaths, a 24% decrease compared to 343 deaths in 2015, thanks to the expansion of rest areas for sleepy drivers. And the installation of large-sized banners containing strong messages such as "dozing while driving means your death" helped to reduce the casualty caused by driving while drowsy by 35% compared to that in 2015. Accordingly, this study tried to analyze the impact of public advertisements designed to prohibit dozing while driving on expressways upon drivers, and to present a direction for improvement of such public advertisements in the future. Based on case studies and library researches, the study contemplated the effects of public advertisements on expressways at home and abroad. It was confirmed that the accident rate has been higher on straight roads than on curved roads and that the framing of negative messages using provocative images or slogans on traffic accidents has been considerably effective. In conclusion, if the installation of outdoor billboards for public advertisements at rest areas for sleepy drivers is institutionalized and the systematic provision of information by road section inside and outside of vehicles via Variable Message Sign (VMS) services on expressways, outdoor billboards, or navigation services (including smartphones) is available, it would be possible to maximize the effect of the public advertisements.

  • This study aimed to identify the effects of advertisement properties in PPL-used cosmetic convergence advertisements on brand attitude and purchasing intention and provide basic data that can be used for PPL marketing in cosmetics industry. For the purpose, this study interviewed female college students using a questionnaire and analysed 494 copies of the responses except 6 ones whose responses were insincere using SPSS v. 21.0. As a result, it was discovered that informativeness and entertainment as sub-factors of advertisement properties had statistically significant positive (+)effects on brand attitude while discomfort had statistically significant negative(-) effect on it. Also, informativeness and entertainment had statistically significant positive (+)effects on purchasing intention. Therefore, as PPL that breaks the contents and flow of dramas or movies decreases advertisement effects and purchasing intention, PPL advertisements should naturally present information on cosmetic products in dramas or movies.
