This study was inspired by the growing importance of information as a resource for improving the quality of life, the lack of systematic research about the information environment of Koreans in the United States and the lack of understanding of the relationships between individual characteristics and information seeking behavior. During 1990 and 1991, 204 Koreans, 18 years old and more, residing in the City of Los Angeles, were interviewed. Generally the information seeking behavior of Koreans appeared to be similar to that of the socioeconomically advantaged segment of the general public. They are relatively well aware of their information needs. capable of articulating them, and willing to pursue information to meet their needs. Major findings include: (1) the dominance of educational information needs: (2) positive feelings of hope, curiosity. and interest associated with information needs: (3) the tendency to pursue information with the expectation of potential rather than immediate rewards: (4) the expertise of information sources and their ability to provide information directly relevant to a need as criteria for selecting an information source: (5) the generally heavy reliance on informal interpersonal information sources and the high ranking of professionals as the starting point for information seeking and in judgements of usefulness: and (6) the dominant use of Korean ethnic information sources. Statistically significant correlations found at the 0.05 level relate (1) level of education, age, and gender with type of information need, the feelings associated with an information need, motivations to seek information, and the use of information sources, (2) proficiency in English and length of residence in the United States with the extent to which ethnic information sources are used, and (3) pattern of daily use of media with the use of media in seeking information.

To revise and develop a 'Model' Curriculum for training the middle standing professionals equipped with professional technology and theories at the spot of the library, such process were executed as research on bibliographic material and literature, utilization of examination of various questionnaires, interviews with middle standing librarians at the spot of the library, a review on the operational state of the Professor's Association of Library Science of Junior Colleges, some consultation with the Research & Deliberation Committee on Curriculums, etc., and to review the present department of library science at the two-year course's short-term colleges or institutes in foreign countries, Germany which is thought to be similar to our nation's situations and its level of economy and Singapore which is considered to be a newly emerging nation were looked into typically. In particular, since studies on the curriculums of the Library Science Dept. of colleges had already preceded, thereby the framework of the 'Model' curriculum was already achieved, however to review how well such framework is applied to the spot of education and give some improvement on that, some unrelistic findings of different subjects in consideration with reality, while comparing those curriculum schedules of each Library Science Dept. with the 'Model' curriculum schedule, were supplemented or revised to be fit to reality. For some supplementing or revising proposals on the pre studied 'Model' curriculum, some tentative plans which focussed on each field respectively and some tentative plans which focussed on cultural subjects, required major subjects and elective subjects were suggested in duality to be referred to. On such a process of forming a harmony of educational theories and practice, it was planned to revise and develop curriculum in a sense emphasizing on practical exercise, and tried not to neglect on each of the fields of the curriculum centered on the areas of materials organization, linguistics, information resource, information science, library organization, & administration, etc. The study on curriculums should be performed flexible to be applied to the accelerating transition of sciences, and be good examples in instruction.
In order to improve this, Korean universities should reorganize their curriculum such as job system research and job - based program development according to the demand of industry in order to improve their working ability due to the decrease of the school - age population and the youth unemployment rate. In this study, first, conceptualization of friendly education and definition of industry - university cooperation and analysis of cases related to friendly - educational cooperation between industry and academia, second, analysis of fusion healing majors in Healing Bio - I want to conduct research. Konkuk University Healing Bioresource College conducted a survey based on demand such as experts and industry for the development of industry - academic cooperation - friendly curriculum. As a result of this process, I developed a curriculum development committee to study the internal and external environment through the literature survey, focus group interviews, and Delphi research. The purpose of this study is to develop competitiveness curriculum reflecting competitiveness of human resource development in Korea, to develop competitiveness curriculum that reflects customized opinions of societal demand, to organize systematic curriculum to have practical ability, to strengthen the employment link through development of curriculum in accordance with the direction of human resources development, We will make contribution to build the system of operation from the center to the consumer center, evaluation of the practical ability through the curriculum and the feedback system.
The goal of this study was to determine the effect of social responsibility characteristics and consumer attitude on consumer purchasing intention. And we used survey result data from 400 adults (200 males and 200 females) aged between 20 and 50 years for our research sample. Also, this study aims to look at the purchasing intention based on Fishbein's attitude model, in order to predict consumer purchasing behaviors on the products made by corporations that have good social responsibility. By using consumer consciousness of social responsibility and Consumer assessment on corporations' social responsibility, this study also intends to examine the ultimate effects on the intention. The following is a summary of the main results and suggestions. First, less than 30 percent of all consumers have experienced education on social responsibility, which is significantly low. Consumers' education experience had no effects on consumer purchasing intention. Consumers' education experience on social responsibility is surely related to purchasing intention, but gives no meaningful relations from the actual proof analysis, which is because of the problems of current consumer education programs. Government and official institutions, corporations, consumer groups should provide more educational opportunities than broadcast media, internet, school, and printed media. Second, according to the analysis result on Consumer consciousness of social responsibility, the assessment scores on social contribution and environmental protection are relatively lower than on consumer protection and energy resource saving. They tend to focus more on social responsibility related to individual interest rather than broader social responsibility as a member of society. Third, consumers have a positive attitude about corporation and its products made by corporations that have good social responsibility. Fourth, the most contributing factor on consumer purchasing intention is corporate consumer attitude. The next is product consumer attitude, Consumer consciousness of social responsibility, and Consumer assessment on corporations' social responsibility.

The Purpose of this study was to find out the effects of education for prevention of sexual abuse (rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment etc.) of children in kindergarten teachers. Incidences of sexual abuse in Korea is ranked 3rd in the world. Sexual abuse of children, particularly, is one of the most serious crimes that affect both the victimized children and their family. The issue related to sexual abuse of children has been ignored, and there is a lack of systematic education to prevent sexual abuse of children either for children or their parents in Korea. Furthermore, lack of knowledge and poor attitude of teachers limit their capability to provide education for sexual abuse prevention to the children. The education for kindergarten teachers may change their knowledge of the sexual abuse and their attitude toward it and improve their capability in helping children. 114 Korean kindergarten teachers participated in this study. Research design was one group pretest-posttest design. The education given to the subjects included 2 hours of lecture. The education program was developed based on a survey. Preschool-aged-children, parents, and teachers were interviewed to reveal their educational needs based on their experiences related to sexual abuse. This program includes such as safety education, crisis management, resource person(s), and phone numbers of available hospital. Data was collected before and after the education was given to the subjects, to assess their knowledge and attitude toward child sexual abuse. Two instruments were used in this study. Using Cronbach's ALPHA validity and reliability of 2 instruments were tested. The analysis of the data was done with Window SPSS 10.0 for descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA. The results of this analysis were as follows : 1. After education, the score of kindergarten teachers knowledge was higher than before (t=-4.409, p=0.002). 2. After education, the score of kindergarten teachers attitude was higher than before (t=3.065, p=0.003). The findings from this study will provide an intervention strategy for prevention of sexual abuse in children.
The purpose of this study that was based on the theory review about the practical use necessity of school landscape was to survey on the awareness of elementary school teachers about the applications of school landscape for environmental education. This study was carried out through the review of literature, the questionnaire to 132 elementary school teachers in Seongnam City. The findings derived from this study were as follows : First, School landscape is an important field as environmental education resource for the improvement of school environmental education. Especially, for the improvement of environmental sensitivity through field-experience learning, the practical applications of elementary school landscape is very important and urgent in aspects of environmental education theory, accessibility, and convenience. Second, Most of responded teachers give an affirmative answer about the field-experience learning for school environmental education and the necessity of practical use of school landscape for field-experience learning. Several the improvement to use elementary school landscape for environmental education being suggested by teachers are the increase of financial support, the magnification of school area, and the school landscape planning and design in consideration of environmental education by landscape architect expert. Third, Above half of teachers don't agree to use the roof garden for environmental education because of the safety of students and the school building construction. Fourth, Teachers are more satisfied with the status of school landscape maintenance than the practical usability of school landscape in aspect of environmental education and the facilities in school landscape. Teachers think that the most important functions and roles of school landscape is psychological factor.
The purpose of this study is to make clear the management of Environmental Education in Elementary school in Korea. To accomplish this purpose, The research for the actual condition of management of Environmental Education according to school, grade, and class was progressed. The researcher was analyzed Hindrance Factors of Sound Environmental Education in School and presented some suggestion on the basis of above-mentioned findings. On one side, the method of research is a case study on qualitative based way. A case study was conducted with it's focus on public elementary school in Seoul. As for major research methods, observation by participating in school field and in-depth interview were respectively employed; subsidiary methods included literature study. The findings of this study are as belows: First, Environmental Education was not managed practically with specific way in school. Second, Environmental Education by direct and actual outdoor experience was unusual. Third, most of class school work about Environmental Education was focused on not only the type of prescription after the environmental problem but also, the treatment of articles in newspaper and TV. Forth, educational compulsion such as “you have to do that.” was mainly used as Environmental guidance for sound attitude in school without clear reasons. In the last analysis, hindrance factors of sound management for environmental education in elementary schools were ‘passive adjustment’, ‘discriminative reception’, ‘absence of information resource’. these factors came from atmosphere of negligence environmental education in schools. Therefore, all of teachers have to affirmative belief and attitude as personal dimension and all of elementary schools improve environmental education system.
The purpose of this study was to investigate perception and awareness of yaksun and willingness to eat yaksun in the future, and to examine the factors affecting intake behavior of yaksun of adults in Daegu and Gyeongbuk region. The data were collected in April, 2011 through a self-administered questionnaire. Chi-square test, t test, and binary logistic regression were conducted by SPSS Windows V.19.0. The results were as follows. Almost sixty-six percent of the respondents answered that they knew yaksun. The perception level of yaksun for the intake respondents was higher than that of non-intake respondents. Additionally, many respondents agreed to varied menu development and convenient-food development of yaksun. Intake respondents showed higher level of agreement for the varied menu development of yaksun than non-intake respondents. On the other hand, four fifths of the respondents showed that they would be willing to eat yaksun in the future. The level of willingness to eat yaksun in the future for the intake respondents was higher than that of non-intake respondents. Additionally, the respondents who knew yaksun showed higher level of willingness to eat it than those who did not know it. Finally, the result of binary logistic regression analysis for intake behavior of yaksun showed that gender, educational level, and the awareness of yaksun were significant. On the basis of these results, not only the promotion of yaksun to consumers but also the development of convenient foods, varied menus for different age groups, and menus with cheap prices are needed to raise yaksun popularity.

Generally, a PLM education program in university consists of lectures of theory, software lab and software development raining as an advanced subject. Most industries want more than these, such as practical problem solving capabilities, teamwork skills and engineering communications including human relationship, rhetoric, technical writing, presentation and etc. Problem-Based Learning is a problem-stimulated and student-centered teaming method, and an innovative education strategy for collaborative and self-directed learning by applying real world problems. Education paradigm changes from "teaching" to "learning" accomplished by team working, and students are encouraged to develop, present, explain and defense their ideas, suggestions or solutions of a problem, and the "cooperative teaming" proceeds spontaneously during team operations. Co-operative education program is an into-grated academic model and a structured educational program combining classroom learning with productive work experience in a field related to a student's academic or career goals. Based on the partnership between academic institutions and industries, students are engaged in real and productive "work" in the industry, in contrast with merely observing. In this paper, PBL with Co-op program is suggested as an effective approach for PLM education, and we made and operated a PBL-based education course with industry co-op program. The Co-op education in industry accompanied with the PBL course in university can improve practical problem solving capabilities of students, including modeling and management of P3R(Product, Process, resource and Plant) using commercial PLM software tools. By the result, we found this to be an effective strategy for helping students, professors and industries succeed in engineering education, especially PLM area.

E-Learning, a technology-based learning process is the obtaining of knowledge from the basis of IT technology. The development of e-Learning requires corporate educational staff as well as HR staff, who manage e-learning, to drastically change their roles. The main reason for this is that the properly adapted and highly experienced education and training abilities of HR staff could accelerate the adoption and usage of e-Learning but they need to clearly select and define an appropriate curriculum from among the extensive mass-customized content with an e-learning basis. Here the research has analyzed the influence of the introduction and usage of e-Learning in hotels on HR staff and their roles from the viewpoint of hermeneutic phenomenology.
