  • During last five years several workshops and seminars among social work educators, in and out country, has taken place. In those gatherings there has been, criticism on American model on which curriculum of social work in Korea has mainly based, and many proposals which most developing countries should consider and adopt for developing their own curriculums. The proposals could be summarized as follows; 1. Specification of developmental functions of social work should be made so that the curriculum could involve. It also must come from own societal needs and own national development task. 2. Social work should participate and make contribution to plan and solve the main social problems in own countries. 3. Clarification of educational objective in undergraduate level should be made and one of them must be related to the first professional degree. 4. There should be the courses which provide the content of macro level participation. How much of the proposals are reflected in the current curriculum of Korea? What are the problems Korean social work education has been faced in connection with reflecting the proposals? What kinds of task we should or could perform in order to adopt the proposals? These are the questions which deserved to be studied. The followings are the answers to the questions; 1. The new courses such as social welfare policy and planning, Social Development, Population Dynamics and Family Planning, Social problems, Special Issues in Social Welfare, etc, are placed in the curriculum. 2. Though the new courses are added the courses of case work, group work, and community organization are strongly remained it means that integrative method is not quite adopted and that conflicts are taking place between new and old fashion. 3. Fieldwork placement policy has been changes from concurrent to block and from social work method oriented to social problem oriented. 4. There are lack of integration among the all courses, of consistency between pre and post courses and connection among the related courses. 5. Establishment of image of social worker with B, A. degree should be urgently taken place. It can't be done by social work field alone but by cooperation with all the forces related to the social work practice. 6. B. A. graduate should have a common base of knowledge and competence. It could be come from the clear and specified objectives of undergraduate level education. And agreement among the member schools on the objectives can call on the fundamental similarities in each curriculums. Different programs from one school to another can be tolerated as long as there are fundamental similarities among the schools. Basic concepts and framework of social work should be kept clearly. It is a slow and long process to make social work recognized as a profession in the developing countries. Korea can't be and exception. Failure of having social work be indegenous can't be the reason to refuse an change the basic concepts of social work. One of he most important task which social work education in Korea must achieve in the near future is to establish the minimum requirement courses in the curriculum. Social work field, on the other hand, must find the positions for the social works in the various settings and institute. Clear role and image of social worker can be obtained by doing that.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences of the factors affecting the entry of depression by generations and to present a practical strategy for preventing of depression by life-cycle. For this purpose, we analyzed the factors influencing the depression of adults, middle-aged and elderly people through the discrete-time hazard model. The results of this study are as follows: First, the lower the self-esteem, the lower the income satisfaction and the family satisfaction people have, the higher the likelihood of entering the depression they have. In addition, age, educational level, health status, presence of chronic diseases, employment status, regional area, and leisure life satisfaction were variables that showed difference by generation. In the case of adulthood(aged 20 ~ 39), unemployed persons are more likely to enter the depression than younger workers. On the other hand, the middle-aged(40 ~ 64 year olds) are more likely to enter the depression if they are older, have poor health status, have no chronic disease, and have low leisure satisfaction. Finally, older people(aged 65 and over) are more likely to enter the depression when the education level is higher, the health condition is worse, and the leisure satisfaction is lower. If they lived in an urban and rural complex, they are more likely to enter the depression. Based on these results, it is necessary to establish a support plan reflecting the characteristics revealed by generations in order to prevent the entry of depression.

  • Death preparation education is not only preparing for future death but also for happier and meaningful life. Death is a persistent problem faced by all human beings and can be found in connection with the Home Economics(HE) curriculum in that it is a contextual practical problem of individuals and their society. The purpose of the study is to develop the practical problem-based death preparation education teaching-learning plans that can be applied to middle and high school HE subject. As a result of the study, the HE death preparation education program was developed. The program name is 'Death Preparation Education for the Happy Life of Me and Family'. Also, 12 practical problems and the 4 teaching-learning plans were developed. This study is expected to be used as educational materials to allow middle and high school students to take death naturally in their lives and to practice meaningful everyday life for worthy death during the HE classes. As a follow-up study, we propose a study to examine the needs of death preparation education in HE curriculum and to verify the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process of death preparation education in HE class.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop Family Life Education program for Marital education in Korea. In order to realize the about research purpose, this study is divided into three sections. First, nature conception and contents f Family Life Education, second, patterns and models for Family Life Education Program in USA and Korea, and Third, the future of Family Life Education. Family Life Education (FLE) is an education originated in reaction to changing social conditions, industrialization and urbanization, it deals with the perceived inadequacies of families to cope with these changes, thereby reduction social problems involved with, and improving family life. With and assumption that the studies about FLE have not been so active in Korea, the present thesis examines the FLE in Korea. The necessity of marital education in Korea Is based upon the theories of FLE in the United States of America. Also, it atempts to formulate a tentative plan for the promotion of a FLE program in Korea. The concept of FLE in Korea was manifested in the social educational law and life-span education. specified as 4th among ten presidential regulations. It is defined as " the Life-span developmental education to enhance the quality of human life, to solve family problems, to develop an individual's potentiality and to strengthen the family relations. of the FLE programs, the marital education is considered one of the furcial wubjects becaused it is the core of the family life. With this premise, FLE tries to wupport the healthy mrital relations. subsequently helping to explore the family potentiality and to strengthen family ties. The objects of the FLE program are unmarried, pre-marred , and married persons. For the married persons, the FLE program should be arranged in accordance with their rrital status divided by the family life cycle so that they may prevent possible family problems at each stage of the family life. Also, to prevent the problems occurred in the course of carrying out family functions, the FLE program should be provided with on the basis of a family unit, thereby improving the quality of the family functions. The FLE is to hep persons begin smoothly the adaption process for a successful marital relations. For the FLE to be practised more widely systematically, research on family education--that is basic study, research and production and evaluation or the FLE to be carried out by research institute wholly responsible for it-- should be done first.

  • In school mathematics, the definition and concept of a differentiation has been dealt with as a formula. Because of this reason, the learners' fundamental knowledge of the concept is insufficient, and furthermore the learners are familiar with solving routine, typical problems than doing non-routine, unfamiliar problems. Preceding studies have been more focused on dealing with the issues of learner's fallacy, textbook construction, teaching methodology rather than conducting the more concrete and efficient research through experiment-based lessons. Considering that most studies have been conducted in such a way so far, this study was to create a lesson plan including teaching resources to guide the understanding of differential coefficients and derivatives. Particularly, on the basis of the theory of Historical Genetic Process Principle, this study was to accomplish the its goal while utilizing a technological device such as GeoGebra. The experiment-based lessons were done and analyzed with 68 first graders in S high school located in G city, using Posttest Only Control Group Design. The methods of the examination consisted of 'learning comprehension' and 'learning satisfaction' using 'SPSS 21.0 Ver' to analyze students' post examination. Ultimately, this study was to suggest teaching methods to increase the understanding of the definition of differentials.

  • This study was conducted to examine effects of mating type on the growth traits in an $F_2$ population produced by reciprocal intercrosses between Landrace and the Jeju Native Black pig (JBP). The $F_2$ progeny were produced by two different mating types based on the grand dams of founder breeds JBP (Cross_1) and Landrace (Cross_2). The body weights at 21 days after birth (BW21D) was significantly different between Cross_1 and Cross_2 (P<0.05), showing that the BW21D of Cross_1 has about 0.25 kg heavier than Cross_2. The significant differences were found between males and females for the growth traits including the body weights (BWB, BW21D, BW70D and BW140D) and average daily gains (ADG, eADG and lADG) (P<0.05). Males were heavier BWB, BW21D and BW140D levels, and higher ADG and lADG levels than females. On the other hand, females had heavier BW70D and higher eADG levels than those of males. When considering the mating types and sex simultaneously the Cross_2 males had the heaviest BW140D among the combinations of cross and sex. In conclusion, it is desirable to choose Landrace as grand dams in the reciprocal intercrosses between Landrace and JBP for producing their progeny construction and to plan the production of $F_2$ males for industrial purposes. These results suggested that it may be one of useful strategies to improve the productivity through out selection of the mating type of founder breeds and the progeny sex, especially in Landrace, JBP and their related populations.

  • The Campus Core is centered at the physical, functional and symbolic environment of a university, which is known as the top academic institution, hence it metaphorically represents not only the educational philosophy when institution first opened, but also the transformed values of the time. Today, universities are asked to actively communicate with the local community in terms of function and be remodeled as pedestrian-friendly campuses in terms of physical environment. For this reason, the study comprehends the concept of the campus core in accordance with a pedestrian-friendly environment and suggests a practical plan for campus cores of district national universities based on previous research examination. Since the purpose of the study is to suggest a change in the circulation system centered on vehicle use to transform into a pedestrian-friendly environment through a planned approach while introducing public mixed-use at the same time, the study supports the fact that it is possible to reorganize the strategy of a pedestrian-friendly circulation system and partially revise the land utilization to yield the expected outcomes. Thus, this study will provide valid suggestions for similar maintenance plans while looking back to the meaning and value of today's campus core.

  • This study is intended to reconsider the meaning of the education for gifted/talented children, the foundation object of science high school by examining the behavior characteristics between gifted students and talented students in open-end mathematical problem solving and to provide the basis for realization of 'meaningful teaming' tailored to the learner's level, the essential of school education. For the study, 8 students (4 gifted students and 4 talented students) were selected out of the 1 st grade students in science high school through the distinction procedure of 3 steps and the behavior characteristics between these two groups were analyzed according to the basis established through the literature survey. As the results of this study, the following were founded. (1) It must be recognized that the constituent members of science high school were not the same excellent group and divided into the two groups, gifted students who showed excellence in overall field of mathematical behavior characteristics and talented students who had excellence in learning ability of mathematics. (2) The behavior characteristics between gifted students and talented students, members of science high school is understood and a curriculum of science high school must include a lesson for improving the creativity as the educational institutions for gifted/talented students, unlike general high school. Based on these results, it is necessary to try to find a support plan that it reduces the case which gifted students are generalized with common talented students by the same curriculum and induces the meaningful loaming to learners, the essential of school education.

  • Mathematically gifted children have creative curiosity about novel tasks deriving from their natural mathematical talents, aptitudes, intellectual abilities and creativities. More effect in nurturing the creative thinking found in brilliant children, letting them approach problem solving in various ways and make strategic attempts is needed. Given this perspective, it is desirable to select open-ended and atypical problems as a task for educational program for gifted children. In this paper, various types of open-ended problems were framed and based on these, teaming activities were adapted into gifted children's class. Then in the problem solving process, the characteristic of bright children's mathematical thinking ability and examples of problem solving strategies were analyzed so that suggestions about classes for bright children utilizing open-ended tasks at elementary schools could be achieved. For this, an open-ended task made of 24 inquiries was structured, the teaching procedure was made of three steps properly transforming Renzulli's Enrichment Triad Model, and 24 periods of classes were progressed according to the teaching plan. One period of class for each subcategories of mathematical thinking ability; ability of intuitional insight, systematizing information, space formation/visualization, mathematical abstraction, mathematical reasoning, and reflective thinking were chosen and analyzed regarding teaching, teaming process and products. Problem solving examples that could be anticipated through teaching and teaming process and products analysis, and creative problem solving examples were suggested, and suggestions about teaching bright children using open-ended tasks were deduced based on the analysis of the characteristic of tasks, role of the teacher, impartiality and probability of approaching through reflecting the classes. Through the case study of a mathematics class for bright children making use of open-ended tasks proved to satisfy the curiosity of the students, and was proved to be effective for providing and forming a habit of various mathematical thinking experiences by establishing atypical mathematical problem solving strategies. This study is meaningful in that it provided mathematically gifted children's problem solving procedures about open-ended problems and it made an attempt at concrete and practical case study about classes fur gifted children while most of studies on education for gifted children in this country focus on the studies on basic theories or quantitative studies.
