  • Educational evaluation involves data collection and the analysis of various education-related factors to make decisions that improve educational quality. Systematic educational evaluation is essential for enhancing the quality of education. This study reports a case of student-conducted process evaluation of a medical school's student support system and the procedure for devising improvement plans. Sixteen Inje University College of Medicine students participated in the Education Evaluation Committee (IUCM-EEC) to understand the educational improvement process as learners and actively achieve improvement. The Quality Improvement Committee of the Inje University College of Medicine (IUCM-QIC) decided to reform its student support system based on a previous educational evaluation in 2019. The evaluation of the student support system was conducted for 10 months in 2021 by the student subcommittee, under the guidance of the IUCM-EEC. The CIPP (context-input-process-product) evaluation model was used for a systematic evaluation. Accordingly, the subcommittee developed evaluation criteria and indicators, and analyzed relevant data collected from surveys and the previous literature. For further recommendations and revision ideas, the student subcommittee members interviewed faculty members from six other medical schools and also conducted a focus group interview with the dean and vice deans of IUCM. Finally, the student subcommittee submitted a report to the IUCM-QIC. Communication with various stakeholders is essential for a successful evaluation process. In this case, students, as key stakeholders in education, evaluated the student support system. Their active participation helped improve their understanding of the evaluation process.

  • All the factors related in education of Korea are very important in the aspect of economic development. The numbers of students being in school from kindergarten through university approximate a quoter of Korean people. Nevertheless paradigm of commercialism in education has been excluded completely in discussion by the reason of 'educational objective' of education fields in Korea. So Korea's educational services have been confronted with various problems which could hardly be solved, and have lost global competitiveness with the development of globalization. The purpose of this paper is to examine the commercialism of educational services by analysing various social phenomena and government policies relating to educational services in Korea, and to find some alternatives which are able to introduce commercialism on educational fields in Korea. Methodology of this paper depends on the theoretical analysis. Major findings of this study can be summarized as follows: First, notwithstanding that the relative importance of education is the same to that of economy in Korea, the providers of educational services in Korea are against their commercialism problems. Second, it is suggested that the stereotyped idea, that is, the commercialism in educational services be excluded, should be removed above all. Third, in order to improve the competitiveness of educational services in Korea, it is recommended that the commercialism be recognized in a part and various strategies such as the s-SCM, educational service marketing, etc. be introduced. Fourth, we have to prepare for globalization of educational services through making the educational industry to exporting services.

While there are important studies, most of them have concentrated on qualitative analysis and noneconomic effects to an educational program for farmers. This study tried to analyze whether or not there is an economic effect of an educational program for farmers, focusing on the relationship between the educational program for farmers and their income status. Multilevel models (or hierarchical linear models) were applied to this study. Multilevel model is a quantitative model of parameters that vary at more than one level and show hierarchical structures between levels. This study particularly accentuates that an educational program for farmers is more meaningful when it can raise farmers' incomes by region and by educational program for farmers.

First, it is necessary to diversify the methods and approaches to Educational Finance and Economics. Comparative Educational studies or exploration on Educational Finance and Economics should require additional analysis from a variety of perspectives. Comparative Education may also be interested in international comparisons of these theoretical orientations or directions of Educational Finance and Economics. Third, we have to secure the identity of the Korean Educational Finance and Economics. Various comparative educational studies on Educational Finance and Economics of Education from an international perspective should be attempted on the basis of indigenous and independent Educational finance and Economics.
