  • The aim of this research is to propose new framework for taxonomy of various business and its concept. due to the changes in market space. This framework is three-dimension cubic model based on three concepts, business layer(BL), value chain(VC), and Real/Virtual(R/V) that symbolizes real environment and virtual (or cyber) space. We showed that this framework is able to describe all expected(or existed) business types in certain industry by the combinations of BL-VC-R/V on three dimension. In addition, we suggested new definition of e-business and e-Logistics from view of BL-VC-R/V. In order to test availability of framework, this framework was applied for logistics related business, and we classified typical business types existed (or expected) in logistics area.

  • Hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome is a relatively rare primary immunodeficiency syndrome characterized by recurrent infection, abscess formation and marked elevation of serum IgE level. The common infectious organism is Staphylococcus aureus and recurrent infection indicates some defects in the immunologic system. Although the infection can affect various organs, gastrointestinal tract involvement is rare and only one case of colon perforation has been previously reproted. Herein we report another one case of colon perforation which ocurred in an 8-year-old girl with hyper immunoglobulin E syndrome. The patient was admitted to the hospital due to an abscess on right neck. The diagnosis of hyper immunoglobulin E syndrome was made because she had eczematoid dermatitis on the face, pneumatocele on left upper lung field and markedly elevated serum IgE level(>15,000 IU/ml) with a past histories of frequent scalp abscesses and otitis media. Abdominal pain developed on the 13th day of admission and abdominal plain X-ray revealed free air. An exploratory laparatomy was performed and two free perforations of the transverse colon were noted. Segmental resection and double barrel colostomy were performed. Colostomy closure was done 4 month later and she had no gastrointestinal problem during a follow up period of 15 months.

  • M$\acute{e}$n$\acute{e}$trier's disease is a rare form of acquired gastropathy characterized by giant rugal folds in the stomach and protein-losing gastropathy. Children with M$\acute{e}$n$\acute{e}$trier's disease tend to follow a benign self-limited course with symptoms typically completely resolving within 2 to 10 weeks in contrast to the chronic course in adults. A 9-year-old girl presented with a history of gradually worsening abdominal distension, increasing body weight, and abdominal pain for 2 weeks. Physical examination on admission indicated periorbital swelling, pitting edema in both the legs, and abdominal distension with mild diffuse tenderness and shifting dullness. Laboratory tests on admission showed hypoalbuminemia, hypoproteinemia, and peripheral eosinophilia. The test result for anti-cytomegalovirus immunoglobulin M was negative. Increased fecal alpha 1 anti-trypsin excretion was observed. Radiological findings showed massive ascites and pleural effusion in both the lungs. On gastroscopy, large gastric folds, erythema, erosion, and exudation were noted in the body and fundus of the stomach. Microscopic findings showed infiltration of eosinophils and neutrophils in the gastric mucosa. Her symptoms improved with conservative treatment from day 7 of hospitalization and resolved completely.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of a nutrition education program on 42 obese young adolescent girls. Nutrition education was performed for six months including both group and individual programs, and was focused on improving their eating habits and food composition. The topics discussed once a week included : eating habits, lifestyle management, 5 basic food groups, snack and fast-food, how to eliminate empty calories, fat and hyperlipidemia, food diary, benefits and methods of exercise, vitamin and minerals, evaluation of fad diets, yo-yo effects and so on. The effects of the nutrition education program were evaluated for nutrition education and exercise regimen group (NE+E), nutrition education only group(NE), and control group(C). NE+E group had additional exercise programs 3times each week, while NE group was educated about exercise only by a nutrition education program. In both NE+E and NE groups, there was a significant decrease in bodyfat compared to C group, but NE+E group had a greater change than NE group(5.5% vs 3.1%). In addition, serum triglycerides decreased about 40mg/dl and total cholesterol 20mg/dl in both NE+E and NE groups. But HDL-C level was increased only in NE+E group. The greater changes in body fat and blood lipid levels occurred between the pre- and mid terms fo the education regimen. They kept their changed measurement throughout the 6 months follow-up studies. The results of this study show that this nutrition education program is helpful for obese adolescent girls in decreasing body fat and serum lipid levels. Also, the combination of an exercise regimen with the nutrition education proved to be more effective.

  • This work, which was about the synthesis of naphthalimidopropyl acrylate and GMA copolymers and their physical properties, investigated the compositions of the copolymer, the reactivity ratios of the monomer, resonance effect (Q), polar effect (e) and fluorescence of naphthalene. Azobisisobutyronitronitryl (AIBN) as an initiator was employed at $60^{\circ}C$ with dimethylformamide (DMF) of solvent for the copolymerization of NIPA. $r_1$ was found to be higher than $r_2$ from the reactivity ratios of the monomer obtained from Fineman-Ross (F-R), Kelen-$T{\ddot{u}}d{\ddot{o}}s$(K-T) methods. NIPA was found to be more copolymerized than GMA. $r_1{\cdot}r_2$ product was lower than 1, copolymerization was maked random-alternating type. The fluorescence spectrum of these polymers showed a weak monomer fluorescence band at 380 nm and a strong excimer fluorescence band at about 460 nm. Fluorescence life time of NIPA monomer showed fluorescence cover with UV 355 nm at room temperature, and life time showed $5.1449{\times}10^{-7}s$.

  • ${\beta}$-ureidopropionase deficiency (${\beta}$-UPD; OMIM # 613161) is a rare autosomal recessive inborn error of pyrimidine metabolism caused by mutations in the UPB1 gene and approximately 30 cases have been reported in the world. The clinical features of patients with ${\beta}$-UPD have been reported to vary from asymptomatic to severe developmental delays. However, the long-term clinical courses of patients with ${\beta}$-UPD have not yet been reported. A Korean girl was diagnosed with ${\beta}$-UPD at the age of 8 years and 10 months by targeted next-generation sequencing which was subsequently confirmed by Sanger sequencing. She had many clinical features such as poor oral feeding, failure to thrive, global developmental delay, microcephaly, frequent infection, and intractable epilepsy. She died suddenly of an unknown cause at the age of 11 years and 5 months. Here we report the long-term (i.e. lifelong) clinical aspects of a Korean patient with ${\beta}$-UPD.

  • We report the case of a 12-year-old girl who had mild encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion (MERS) associated with acutepyelonephritis caused by Escherichia coli. The patient was admitted with a high fever, and she was diagnosed with acute pyelonephritis based on pyuria and the results of urine culture, which detected cefotaxime-sensitive E. coli. Although intravenous cefotaxime and tobramycin were administered, her fever persisted and her C-reactive protein level increased to 307 mg/L. On day 3 of admission, she demonstrated abnormal neuropsychiatric symptoms, such as delirium, ataxia, and word salad. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain performed on day 4 showed marked hyperintensities in the bilateral corpus callosum and deep white matter on diffusion-weighted images, with corresponding diffusion restriction on apparent diffusion coefficient mapping. No abnormalities or pathogens were detected in the cerebrospinal fluid; however, lipopolysaccharides (LPS, endotoxin) were detected in plasma (41.6 pg/mL), associated with acute neurological deterioration. Her clinical condition gradually improved, and no neurological abnormalities were observed on day 6. Follow-up brain MRI performed 2 weeks later showed near-disappearance of the previously noted hyperintense lesions. In this patient, we first proved endotoxemia in a setting of MERS. The release of LPS following antibiotic administration might be related to the development of MERS in this patient. The possibility of MERS should be considered in patients who present with acute pyelonephritis and demonstrate delirious behavior.
