The Influences of Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Well-being at e-Sports Game on Life Satisfaction (정서지능과 e스포츠 게임에서의 심리적 웰빙이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study analyzed the effects of e-sports games on psychological well-being and life satisfaction of individuals by focusing on social and psychological aspects, recognizing e-sports games as subjective area activities based on psychological experiences as well as a means of leisure activities. To this end, 250 game users with actual experience in online games were analyzed using a structural equation modeling(SEM). The research results are as follows. First, except for other's emotion appraisal, which was a sub-factor of emotional intelligence of e-sports game users, self-emotional appraisal, use of emotion and regulation of emotion were found to have a significant positive effect on psychological well-being. Second, psychological well-being in e-sports games was found to have a significant positive relationship with life satisfaction, and psychological well-being was found to significantly mediate the relationship between emotional intelligence and life satisfaction. The findings of this study imply that managerial implications for related organizations as a platform that could support individual psychological well-being in a situation where the stress level of young adults as well as teenagers in a non-face-to-face environment is increasing.

  • 본 논문에서는 메타버스를 활용한 e-스포츠 산업의 영역 확장 및 발전 가능성에 대해 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 코로나-19 사태 발생 후 상승세를 보인 e-스포츠 산업 발달 과정에 새롭게 대두된 메타버스 기술을 활용했을 시에 생기는 새로운 방향의 발전 가능성에 대해 연구하였다. 현재 e-스포츠 산업의 발전을 따라가지 못하는 게임들 혹은 소규모 행사들의 발전 가능성에 대해 집중적으로 연구하였으며, 실제로 적용 했을 시 현재 주목받고 있는 대규모 e-스포츠 행사가 아닌 e-스포츠 행사에 참가하지 못하거나 적극적인 참여를 하지 못하는 상황에서 보다 긍정적인 영향을 보이는 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 연구는 호황을 누리고 있는 e스포츠 방송 분야에서 그래픽 디자인의 중요성을 탐구한다. e스포츠 시청자에게 명확하고 매력적인 비주얼을 제공하고 선수 통계, 팀 순위, 토너먼트 일정과 같은 정보를 제공하는 효과적인 그래픽 디자인의 중요성을 강조한다. 시각적으로 매력적이고 몰입감 있는 방송을 만드는 데 도움이 되는 핵심 원칙과 전략을 식별하는 것을 제안하고 있으며, 그래픽에 대한 시청자 반응을 측정하고 문제가 될 수 있는 그래픽이 전반적인 e스포츠 경험을 방해하는지 확인하기 위해 설문 조사를 통해 분석 결과를 제시한다. 그리고 디자이너가 고려해야 할 핵심 사항에는 명확성, 일관성, 브랜딩 및 혁신이 포함되며, 이 모든 요소는 청중을 참여시키고 e스포츠 방송의 품질을 높이는 효과적인 그래픽을 만드는 데 도움이 될 수 있는 내용들을 제시한다.

  • 4차 산업혁명과 메타버스와 같이 빠르게 변화하는 정보화 시대에서 디지털 사각지대에 놓인 '디지털 소외 계층'들이 존재하고 있다. 특히 고령자 같은 경우엔 빠르게 변화된 사회 속에서 보장받아야 할 디지털 교육을 받지 못하여 이제는 당연하게 누려야 할 편리함까지 놓치고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 문제들을 해결하기 위한 효과적인 디지털 교육 방안으로 '놀이'와 '게임' 그리고 '컴퓨터'를 융합시킨 'e스포츠'를 통해 디지털 치료제로서 제안하고자 한다. 이는 단순한 '교육'이 아닌 새로운 실버 콘텐츠로 접근하여 노인들의 또 다른 문화로 개척하며 디지털 소외 문제를 해결하는 것과 동시에 고령자들에게 'e스포츠'의 발전과 인식개선에도 기대해 본다.

Development of game indicators and winning forecasting models with game data (게임 데이터를 이용한 지표 개발과 승패예측모형 설계)

  • A new field of e-sports gains the great popularity in Korea as well as abroad. AOS (aeon of strife) genre games are quickly gaining popularity with gamers from all over the world and the game companies hold game competitions. The e-sports broadcasting teams and webzines use a variety of statistical indicators. In this paper, as an AOS genre game, League of Legends game data is used for statistical analysis using the indicators to predict the outcome. We develop new indicators with the factor analysis to improve existing indicators. Also we consider discriminant function, neural network model, and SVM (support vector machine) for make winning forecasting models. As a result, the new position indicators reflect the nature of the role in the game and winning forecasting models show more than 95 percent accuracy.

Analysis of the Academic Research Trend of e-sports (e스포츠에 관한 연구동향 분석)

  • This study chose the academic journals related with e-sports for analysis among the top tier journals of National Research Foundation of Korea from 2006 to 2011 to check the academic trend Beginning in 2006, the first study of e-sports was published in the journal related with e-sports. So, the studies from 2006 to 2011 were chosen for analysis. Using Research Information Sharing Service(RISS), the keyword 'e-sports' was searched. By virtue of this process, total 27 studies were selected as final analysis. So, the academic trends are as follows. In Korea, the studies related with e-sports have started from the beginning of 2000s with internet and then it spread out via cable TV. And then from the middle of 2000s, e-sports was discussed seriously. The early subject of the studies usually focused on the measurement of e-sports based on the strategic elements as a product. After that, game addiction and violent tendency which were one of the biggest issues were raised as a constant problem and it became the academic studies of user behavior. E-sports became a recreation culture of teenagers so it has been in charge of the role of exit and the problems related with it have continuously appeared. So, the academic studies tend to have departmentalization like immersion, addiction, sociality, self-regulation and etc. But, there was a tendency that the similar contents were repeated in the view point of subject and method while the subjects were departmentalized. So, for the systematic study of e-sports, development of the unique subject, study method and verification process should be conducted continuously.

NFT Utilization Method in e-Sports

  • In this paper, based on the generalization and popularization of NFT, the utilization idea of using NFT in e-sports was proposed. We considered ways to utilize NFTs to make access to e-sports easy for all users and to secure users from various age groups. To this end, cases of NFTs with diversity in e-sports platforms were analyzed by type, and the degree of use of NFTs in e-sports was identified through a survey. As a result of the study, it was found that the NFT experience in the e-sports game was highly satisfactory and the desire to experience it again was strong. As NFTs have ownership and scarcity as important characteristics, they can respond well to the demand for owning unique items in e-sports. In addition, in marketing, by promoting limited edition products with scarcity, it is possible to promote marketing that creates value with high profitability. When using NFT in e-sports, various NFT functions are combined regardless of the type of sport, so NFT can become an economic infrastructure.

Win-Loss Prediction Using AOS Game User Data

  • E-sports, a burgeoning facet of modern sports culture, has achieved global prominence. Particularly, Aeon of Strife (AOS) games, emblematic of E-sports, blend individual player prowess with team dynamics to significantly influence outcomes. This study aggregates and analyzes real user gameplay data using statistical techniques. Furthermore, it develops and tests win-loss prediction models through machine learning, leveraging a substantial dataset of 1,149,950 individual data points and 230,234 team data points. These models, employing five machine learning algorithms, demonstrate an average accuracy of 80% for individual and 95% for team predictions. The findings not only provide insights beneficial to game developers for enhancing game operations but also offer strategic guidance to general users. Notably, the team-based model outperformed the individual-based model, suggesting its superior predictive capability.

A study on the difference in whether or not to watch e-sports game according to gender (성별에 따른 e스포츠 경기 시청여부의 차이에 대한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 게임관련 학업을 전공으로 하는 남학생 31명, 여학생 18명, 총 49명을 대상으로 e스포츠 경기 시청 여부를 조사하였다. 그 결과 남학생의 경우는 응답자의 약 77%가 e스포츠 경기를 시청한다고 응답하였으며, 약 13%만이 e스포츠 경기를 시청하지 않는다고 응답하였다. 여학생의 경우는 응답자의 61%가 e스포츠 경기를 시청하지 않는다고 응답하였으며, 33%가 e스포츠 경기를 시청한다고 응답하였다. 교차분석를 한 결과, 유의수준 P값이 0.0004 (P>0.05)로 남학생과 여학생간의 e스포츠 경기 시청에 대한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Traditional market for arcade game is downsized due to limited offline services. This paper suggests O2O service which is a combination of NFC technology and traditional arcade game. O2O service available by installing NFC tag in the gaming machines and operating by smartphone. This allows convenient payment service along with continuity of gameplay. Furthermore applying ranking, statistics and replays will vitalize communities such as fan clubs and highlight local rankers into popular gaming stars. Offline gallery can be expanded to online via O2O service. Local stars and online gallery will lead arcade gaming platform to E sports. This paper covers servers and applications regarding O2O service in addition to their functions and expected outcome.
