A Case Study of Manufacturing Company's Servitization Process : Hansam's Transition from Furniture Manufacturing to Interior Service (사례 분석을 통한 제조업의 서비스화 : 한샘 가구제조기업에서 인테리어 서비스 회사로의 변환)

  • Currently many companies have realized that producing efficient product does not guarantee the market differentiation. Realizing the problem, those companies are actively pursuing the servitization strategy. However complexities in selecting the right service areas among many choices along with in developing service strategies and organizational structures remain unsolved to many manufacturing companies. This paper is about an exploratory study in which, through in-depth case analysis, we observed how a manufacturing company successfully managed to transform to the service company. Through this study, we have found that successful transformation needs to resolve many conflicting issues such as channels among existing and new sales front, organizational restructuring due to conflicting in evaluation and human resource requirements required for responding to customers in the field. This 'Hansam' case study provides managers with some guidelines as to how to transform to the service company.

An Empirical Study on the Effects of SMEs Competition, ESG Management Activities and Organizational Justice on Job Satisfaction : Focusing on Mediating Effects of Self-efficacy (중소기업의 경쟁력, ESG 경영 활동 및 조직공정성이 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증 연구 : 자기효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • Given that SME workers are the driving force of national competitiveness and the basis and cornerstone of the industry, it is meaningful to study workers' job satisfaction and the factors that affect job satisfaction. In addition to variables related to corporate competitiveness and organizational justice, this study introduced variables such as environmental(E) activities, social(S) activities, and governance(G) activities, which th national government uses as major management evaluation indicators. Therefore, a literature study and empirical analysis were conducted on how self-efficacy affects job satisfaction when workers are faced with a changed work environment. To conduct this study, 300 copies of data were collected from workers in small and medium-sized enterprises and used for analysis. For data analysis, the SPSS statistical program (Ver. 25.0) was used. The study finds, first, that product or service quality and employee competency among corporate competitiveness had a significant positive(+) effect on job satisfaction. Secondly, among ESG management activities, social(S) activities and governance(G) activities were found to have a significant positive(+) effect on job satisfaction. Third, among organizational justice, distribution justice and procedural justice were found to have a positive(+) effect on job satisfaction. Fourth, self-efficacy was found to mediate the effect of product or service quality, employee competency, social(S) and governance(G) activities among ESG management activities, and procedural justice among organizational justice on job satisfaction. The academic value of this study is that it empirically analyzed the factors that ESG management activities affect workers' jobs,. As a result, it was confirmed that workers were satisfied with their jobs by actively showing interest in social(S) activities and governance(G) activities among ESG management activities and participating in corporate management. In addition, workers sensitive to changes in the external environment can become satisfied with their jobs through self-efficacy when SMEs actively enhance corporate competitiveness, execute ESG management activities, and provide a fair organizational culture. Finally, this study suggests that there's a possibility of improving the competitiveness of SMEs through a virtuous cycle created by a change in perception of job conversion and a decrease in turnover.

  • A job analysis of subject specialist librarians is an important source providing information about definition of a job, development of a curriculum, administration of human resources, criteria of employee training, and deciding institutional and individual objectives. This study analyzes a job of subject specialist librarians in Korea, and divides their jobs into 7 duties and 58 tasks. the 7 duties are as follows; A. a development of subject information resources, B. a management of information resources classified by subjects, C. a research support service classified by subjects, D. Liasion activity of library users, E. an education of subject classification for library users, F. library management, G. personal development of classified subject areas.

  • Rapid changes in information technologies are forcing dramatic shifts in how business are conducted in various industry sectors. This pace of change is increasing all around the world. Accordingly, there is a need for the libraries to provide the information services with agility, which emphasizes on the prompt reaction to the changes, which are almost impossible to predict. Especially, the digital libraries higher education institutions require more agility as their main mission is providing a wide range of cutting edge information for the research and education activities. In this study, the notion of 'agility' is examined then the relationship between the digital library's e-service measure evaluation factors and the capability, which is defined as agility, is explored. In addition, the impact of agility in user satisfaction is analyzed. Based on these analyses, the factors to consider in managing digital libraries in higher education institution, are suggested.

  • The numbers of SNS (Social Network Service) users and usage amounts are increasing every year. The influence of SNS is increasing also. SNS has a wide range of influences from daily decision-making to corporate management activities. Therefore, proper analysis of SNS can be a very meaningful work, and many studies are making a lot of effort to look into various activities and relationships in SNS. In this study, we analyze the SNS following relationships using Twitter, one of the representative SNS services. In other words, unlike the existing SNS analysis, our intention is to analyze the interests of the accounts by extracting and visualizing the accounts that two accounts follow in common. For this, a common following account was extracted using Microsoft Excel macros, and the relationship between the extracted accounts was defined using an adjacency matrix. In addition, to facilitate the analysis of the following relationships, a direction graph was used for visualization, and R programming was used for such visualization.

  • Small IT service organizations operate their business with limited resources and workforce in comparison with large enterprises, and they could be categorized in various types based on the method of value creation. But the recent studies on information security have been conducted and they were focused on the construction of general information security countermeasure, without considering size of the business and characteristic. Hence we have undergone the process of classifying information assets. Then we extracted and categorized the information assets considering characteristics of small organization's size and business process. Specifically we have classified the information assets according to business scenario design through qualitative observation method. Then we have validated the classified information assets by utilizing statistical method. We may anticipate that this study results could be basic data for developing the differentiated information security countermeasures for small IT service organization.

  • As a reinforcing strategic-alignment of IT business, Financial Service becomes more rely on IT systems. It needs to continuous information security activities to provide a secure and reliable finance service. Performance measurement of information security activities can be useful for decision and management support. The purpose of this study is to derive CSF(Critical Success Factor) and KPI(Key Performance Indicator) based on K-ISMS, Financial IT Information Security Standards. Providing a rationale can be used to determine key performance indicators, which are utilized as basic data for establishing security policies for financial IT security competency.

  • The purpose of this paper is to design a cyber mathematics mentoring system which is helpful for interactive mathematics mentoring among mentors and learners. We review theories about various technological tools that are related to students' interest, participation and motivation in the course of on-line and off-line activities, and we also research the effectiveness of such tools. Also we consider educational implications of the cyber mathematics mentoring system for pre-service teachers, in-service teachers, learners and mentors.

  • Since the importance of software reliability for game service increases continuously, the reliability evaluation becomes very important. This research performed an experiment which was intended to analyze the effect of software verification and validation, a representative activity of the software development process, on the software reliability. The results from the experiments provided the reliability evaluation based on the development process (e.g., Bayesian Belief Network based reliability estimation) with very useful bases.

A Study on the Determinants of User's Satisfaction at e-Trade Portal Sites in Korean Small and Medium Enterprises (중소기업의 무역포탈사이트 이용만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Trade portal site is one of the tools which make it possible for small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) to manage international trade activities more efficiently by using the newest information and telecommunication technology. So Korean SMEs should utilize trade portal sites more actively to promote global competitive power. Based on the theory of service quality and existing researches related to using information technology, this paper analyzed the primary factors which affect user's utilization satisfaction in using trade portal sites. According to the results of the empirical study on actual users of the representative trade portal sites by multiple regression analysis, the primary factors, such as service quality, government policy and cost factor have affected user's utilization satisfaction in using trade portal sites. And user's utilization satisfaction have positive effect on continuous using intention. These research results will provide many useful insights to trade portal site managers, e-trade system developers and government policy makers.
