  • Most important to financial institutions is to provide well designed and built services to the customers by accessing their core bank systems and affiliated systems in their partners. This will be essential to introduce new products and services and still be able to count on legacy and collaborative affiliated systems. Winning the war on such service competitions among financial institutions is attainable by seizing the "e-bank" opportunities in B2Bi and CRM (Customer Relationship Management). Such application integrations among systems and "e-bank" services need to be available in the new IT environment. In this article, an If and service architecture adopting unified e-business services platform is proposed. This architecture is able to achieve application integrations among legacy, affiliated, and e-business systems and services. We derive an architecture in unified e-business services platform by investigating current and future e-business services platforms involved in domestic and global international banks. Several financial interchange standards which are involved in B2B business of e-procurement, e-placement, e-payment are also investigated.

  • Of critical importance to the success of any e-commerce site are the two factors: rapid application development and quick response time. A three-tier architecture composed of presentation layer, business layer, and data access layer emerges to allow rapid changes in user interface, business logic, and database structures. Too often, such a logical three-tier architecture is considered as requiring a three-tier physical architecture: Web server, application server, and database server running on separate computers. Contrary to the common belief, a Web stress test reveals that the three-tier logical architecture implemented on a two-tier physical platform guarantees a quicker response time due to the reduction in cross-machine communications. This would lead business firms to economize their spending on e-commerce: increasing the number of physical servers to expedite transaction is not necessarily the best solution. Before selecting a particular hardware configuration, a Web stress test needs to be conducted to compare the relative merits of alternative physical architectures. Together with capacity planning, Web stress test emerges as a powerful tool to build robust, yet economical e-commerce sites.

  • This paper is to show the meaningfulness of applying Information Technology Architecture (ITA) to the modeling of a nation-wide e-Business architecture framework. After reviewing various architecture frameworks we suggested a unique architecture framework called VMT (Views, Models, and Time-frames). VMT represents five views of e-Business stakeholders; six models of data, function, network, agent, event, and rule; and three timeframes of short-term, mid-term, and long-term. VMT is an extension and unification of popular frameworks including Zachman's framework that has international recognition and use, C4ISR architecture framework of US DoD's, and Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) of the US Federal Government's.

  • Decision-making in the crisis management happens in dynamic, rapidly changing, and often unpredictable distributed environments. Crisis management Decision Support Systems (DSSs) in E-Government are challenged by the need to use it availably at anytime, from anywhere, and even under any-situation. In this paper the reasons of developing distributed architecture for crisis management Decision Support Systems (DSSs) in E-Government are analyzed. Consequently, a distributed architecture for crisis management Decision Support System (DSS) is proposed in this paper. Finally it is implemented by Web Services. If crisis management Decision Support System (DSS) based on distributed architecture is implemented by Web Service, then it can provide decision support for decision-makers to deal with crisis at anytime, from anywhere, and even under any-situation.

  • Recently, e-business has very much attention in the management fields because it is expected to fundamentally change the way many business compete. Business that don't understand the changes and that can't change their operating model in time will be at a disadvantage. Information technology infrastructure and its management are key components of e-business The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of information technology infrastructure and its management to the type of information systems used and the use of e-business. A total of 56 Korean firms responded to the survey instrument. There was indirect effect to the use of e-business from the information technology structure via communication capacity and direct effect from management type. The study also found that firms with less centralized forms of information technology were more frequent users of e-business, Firms that have more freedom in information technology decision making tended to be users of the new technology and take advantage opportunities that exits on the information technology.

  • A software application builder has designed and partially implemented a E-Business software system using several reusable in-house software components. The builder finds an externally available third-party software components that satisfies solve desired functionality or behavior. We need systematic classification of the component from the domain. We propose a reference architecture of E-Business domain. It is used to search and reuse requiring components.

  • In order for companies to survive rapidly changing business environment, it is expected that the activities in an enterprise must be reorganized around business processes; the information infrastructures are based on Web Services; and information systems are re-built around the BPMS (Business Process Management System). In this research we suggest major directions of e-business enhancement especially based on SOA(Service Oriented Architecture). Then we investigate the correlation between BPM functionalities and e-business technologies, and suggest priorities among the evolving directions of BPM functionalities via an intensive expert survey. The results of this study can be used by BPM solution vendors, prospective buyers and IT policy makers.

  • An electronic services which are based on Internet/Intranet business transactions are available to e-market places and get the broader business concepts. Component-based e-commerce technology is a recent trend towards resolving the e-commerce chanange at both system and ap-plication levels. The basic capabilities of component based systems should include the plug and play features at various granularities, interoper-ability across networks and mobility in various networking environments. E-business application developers are attempting to more towards web-service as a mechanism for developing component-based web-applications. Traditional process and development models are inadequately architectured to meet the rapidly evolving needs for the future of scalable web services. In this thesis, we focus specifically on the issues of e-business system architecture based on web service for establishing e-business system. We specifies and identifies design pattern for applying e-business domain in the context of multiple entities. We investigate prototype and frameworks to develope components for e-business application based suggested process. We present a worked example to demonstrate the behavior of Customer Authentication System(CAS) development with component and recommend process. Final]Y, we indicate and view on future directions in component-based development in the context of electronic business.

  • Many firms are utilizing the Internet and various information technologies to effectively manage their business operations with a goal of gaining a competitive advantage in the rapidly changing business environments. Today, the business is characterized as digital economy where information freely flows and business processes are improved with the use of information technologies. Internet technology is playing a key role in transforming the organization and creating new business models. It has become the infrastructure of choice for electronic commerce because it provides process efficiency, cost reduction, and open standards that can easily be adopted by different organizations. Here, the vast amount of data and information slow among the related parties and security issues are very critical matter of research interests by academicians and practitioners. In this research, we address the importance of security framework in managing the data shared among the related parties in the e-business and suggest the security architecture for effectively supporting the needs of e-business in an organization. This research provides valuable contributions both in academics and industry in terms of how security framework and architecture should be set in order to provide the necessary e-business.

  • With developing computer and communication technologies, the concept of CALS system has been popular not only to military but also to commercial industries. The security problem is one of the most critical issues to construct CALS infrastructure. The CALS system needs some security functions such that data confidentiality, integrity, authenticity, availability, and non-repudiation. This paper proposes a security architecture model in CALS. The security architecture model is composed of 5 submodels such that network security model, authentication and key management model, operation and audit model, integrated database security model, and risk analysis model.
