  • The joined-wing is a new concept of the airplane wing. The fore-wing and the aft-wing are joined together in a joined-wing. The range and loiter are longer than those of a conventional wing. The joined-wing can lead to increased aerodynamic performance and reduction of the structural weight. In this research, dynamic response optimization of a joined-wing is carried out by using equivalent static loads. Equivalent static loads are made to generate the same displacement field as the one from dynamic loads at each time step of dynamic analysis. The gust loads are considered as critical loading conditions and they dynamically act on the structure of the aircraft. It is difficult to identify the exact gust load profile. Therefore, the dynamic loads are assumed to be (1-cosine) function. Static response optimization is performed for the two cases. One uses the same design variable definition as dynamic response optimization. The other uses the thicknesses of all elements as design variables. The results are compared.

  • We need various methods to develop MMORPG that is game genre which many users use among various game genre using Internet. Specially, to heighten efficiency of distributing work, Object-oriented language such as C++ is used and we need design techniques that can take advantage of enough object-oriented concept when making large-scale game. There is various pattern that can apply in software breakup design in GoF's design pattern for these design techniques. If you apply Observer pattern to Party System Design for forming community between game users, you can easily add new class and maintain system later. Party Play is one of the important system that is used to form game users' community in MMORPG games. The main point that must be considered in Party-Play-System is to divide evenly experience value and acquisition that is got by Party-Play among users according to each user's level. To implement Party Play System that consider maintenance of system, in this paper, we propose a method using GoF's Observer-Pattern, showing you that proposed method which has advantage to dynamic memory allocation and to virtual method call can be used usefully to change object to real time at program run and to add new class and to maintain system new.

  • This paper tried to verify whether we can make NPCs generate emergent quests consistently by experiments in the persistent world of Role Playing Games where the persistent world can generate stories through interaction among game components. In this paper, we test NPC based procedural quest generation techniques assuming quest types suggested in the past research in the persistent virtual RPG world. Our system uses desire model of NPCs and dynamic resource management system to make decision of quest generation. Our decision process considers desire satisfaction, money deposit, and friendship of NPCs. These parameters are dynamically changed by quest completion status, and affect next quest generation process. This paper shows that NPCs in the persistent virtual world can generate quests based on procedural quest techniques consistently.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the feasibility and efficiency of balance training program through an interactive video game regimen in people with chronic stroke. Methods : Thirty patients with chronic hemiparetic stroke were recruited. Participants were randomly assigned to either a control group (n=15) or an experimental group (n=15). The control group received the general physical therapy including of strengthening and balance exercise five times a week whereas the experimental group received a program of balance exercise with video game play based on virtual reality as well as the same typical physical therapy. The experimental group received 6 sessions for four weeks. Each session was given 5 minutes. An interactive computer game exercise regimen lasted 30 minutes without rest periods. Outcome measures for weight transfer to paretic side, non-paretic side and sit-squat-speed, sit-squat-length, sit-to-standspeed and sit-to-stand-area for the control group (n=15) and experimental group (n=15) before and after treatment were obtained by using the biorescure. Results: Outcomes demonstrated significant improvement in the experimental group compared with the control group in weight transfer to paretic side, non-paretic side and sit-squat-speed, sit-squat-length, sit-to-stand-speed. No significant training effect was showed in sit-to-stand-area between pretraining and post-training. Conclusion : An interactive computer game exercise based on task oriented approach for balance in chronic stroke were feasible. In other words, This regimen resulted in a greater improvement in dynamic balance for people with chronic stroke.

  • There is a request from the client, we almost apply dynamic memory allocating method using Accept() of looping method; thus, there could be process of connecting synchronously lots of client in most of On-line gaming server engine. However, this kind of method causes on-line gaming server which need to support and process the clients, longer loading and bottle necking. Therefore we propose the object pooling scheme to minimize the memory fragmentation and the load of the initialization to the client using an AcceptEx() and static allocating method for an efficient gaming server of the On-line in this paper. We design and implement the gaming server applying to our proposed scheme. Also, we show efficiency of our proposed scheme by performance analysis in this paper.

  • The task scheduling problem has received a lot of attention in recent years as a crucial area for research in the cloud environment. However, due to the difference in objectives considered by service providers and users, it has become a major challenge to resolve the conflicting interests of service providers and users while both can still take into account their respective objectives. Therefore, the task scheduling problem as a bi-objective game problem is formulated first, and then a task scheduling model based on the bi-objective game (TSBOG) is constructed. In this model, energy consumption and resource utilization, which are of concern to the service provider, and cost and task completion rate, which are of concern to the user, are calculated simultaneously. Furthermore, a many-objective evolutionary algorithm based on a partitioned collaborative selection strategy (MaOEA-PCS) has been developed to solve the TSBOG. The MaOEA-PCS can find a balance between population convergence and diversity by partitioning the objective space and selecting the best converging individuals from each region into the next generation. To balance the players' multiple objectives, a crossover and mutation operator based on dynamic games is proposed and applied to MaPEA-PCS as a player's strategy update mechanism. Finally, through a series of experiments, not only the effectiveness of the model compared to a normal many-objective model is demonstrated, but also the performance of MaOEA-PCS and the validity of DGame.

  • A sufficient condition for a Stackelberg strategy to coincide with an equilibrium point is presented. Information pattern of a Stackelberg strategy is essentially different from that of an equilibrium solution and therefore the two strategies need not be the same. However, under score restrictions on the cost functions the difference in information patterns between the two strategies can be disregarded so that the two strategies coincide. The result is extended to the case of discrete-time dynamic games.

  • In this paper, we show based on Lyapunov theorem that the closed loop system with the constrained H$_{\infty}$ optimal controller is exponentially stable. Then the on-line feedback implementation of the constrained H$_{\infty}$ optimal control based on quadratic programs is proposed.

  • Each robot plays a role of its own behavior in dynamic robot-soccer environment. One of the most necessary conditions to win a game is control of robot movement. In this paper we suggest a win strategy using Cellular Neural Network to set optimal path and cooperative behavior, which divides a soccer ground into grid-cell based ground and has robots move a next grid-cell along the optimal path to approach the moving target.

  • In this paper, we develop a dynamic structural model based on a dynamic supergame and measure market power for the Dallas-Forth Worth fluid milk market in the U.S. In particular, we compare the conduct parameter estimates from a static model with that from the dynamic model and illustrate bias in the market-power measure in a static model. And we also analyze the cyclical behavior of firm conduct. We find that the conduct parameter in a static model underestimates true market power if firms' behaviors are posited by a dynamic oligopoly game. We also verify that firm conduct in the Dallas-Forth Worth fluid milk market is countercyclical against demand shocks and expected future cost shocks. Our results indicate that the firms' conduct in the Dallas-Forth Worth fluid milk market is consistent with what dynamic oligopoly models predict. This implies that the firms consider not only the contemporary reactions of the other firms' but also future market competition. Therefore, the measurement of market power requires the specification of fully dynamic pricing relationship.
