  • This paper confirms the application sites of dry coupler technology, which is a direct connection method using screw threads, and Unlike wet couplers, this method can stand on its own without proof support and continuous work on the upper part. Furthermore, concludes with personal considerations to improve constructability.

평면도파로형 $2\times32$ 광커플러의 설계와 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design and Fabrication of the Planar Light Waveguide type $2\times32$ Optical Coupler)

  • $2\times32$ 커플러는 마하젠더 간섭기와 Y분기 커플러로 구성하여 제작하였다. 커플러의 설계를 위해 유효굴절율법을 이용하여 3차원의 도파로 구조를 2차원 구조로 대체하였고 2차원 유한차분 빔전파법을 이용하여 도파로 구조에 대한 최적의 설계요소를 찾아내었다. 전산모사에 의하여 두 도파로 간의 높이가 $43.6\mu\textrm{m}$(경로차 $0.668\mu\textrm{m}$)로 제작한 $2\times32$ 커플러가 가장 우수한 특성을 나타냈다. 코아층의 식각 특성에 있어서 산화실리콘과 마스크인 알루미늄의 식각비는 30:1이었고 코아의 식각률은 2600${\AA}$/min이었다. 식각 균일도는 $\pm$5% 내외로 균일하였다. $2\times32$ 커프럴의 삽입 손실은 최대 손실이 19.2dB 이하였고 균일성은 2dB이였다.

Single-step 전자빔 묘화 장치를 이용한 Focusing Grating Coupler 제작 연구 (Fabrication technology of the focusing grating coupler using single-step electron beam lithography)

  • A focusing grating coupler (FGC) was not fabricated by the 'Continuous Path Control' writing strategy but by an electron-beam lithography system of more general exposure mode, which matches not only the address grid with the grating period but also an integer multiple of the address grid resolution (5 nm), To more simplify the fabrication, we are able to reduce a process step without large decrease of pattern quality by excluding a conducting material or layer such as metal (Al, Cr, Au), which are deposited on top or bottom of an e-beam resist to prevent charge build-up during e-beam exposure. A grating pitch period and an aperture feature size of the FGC designed and fabricated by e-beam lithography and reactive ion etching were ranged over 384.3 nm to 448.2 nm, and $0.5{\times}0.5mm^2$ area, respectively, This fabrication method presented will reduce processing time and improve the grating quality by means of a consideration of the address grid resolpution, grating direction, pitch size and shapes when exposing. Here our investigations concentrate on the design and efficient fabrication results of the FGC for coupling from slab waveguide to a spot in free space.

  • This study presents a dry precast concrete (PC) beam-column connection, and its target seismic performance level is set to be emulative to the reinforced concrete (RC) intermediate moment resisting frame system specified in ACI 318 and ASCE 7. The key features include self-sustaining ability during construction with the dry mechanical splicing method, enabling emulative connection performances and better constructability. Test specimens with code-compliant seismic details were fabricated and tested under reversed cyclic loading, which included a PC beam-column connection specimen with dry connections and an RC control specimen. The test results showed that all the specimens failed in a similar failure mode due to plastic deformations in beam members, while the hysteretic response curve of the PC specimen showed comparable and emulative performances compared to the RC specimen. Seismic performance evaluation was quantitatively addressed, and on this basis, it confirmed that the presented system can fully satisfy all the required performance for the intermediate RC moment resisting frame.

  • For fast-built and safe precast concrete (PC) construction, the dry mechanical splicing method is a critical technique that enables a self-sustaining system (SSS) during construction with no temporary support and minimizes onsite jobs. However, due to limited experimental evidence, traditional wet splicing methods are still dominantly adopted in the domestic precast industry. For PC beam-column connections, the current design code requires achieving emulative connection performances and corresponding structural integrity to be comparable with typical reinforced concrete (RC) systems with monolithic connections. To this end, this study conducted the standard material tests on mechanical splices to check their satisfactory performance as the Type 2 mechanical splice specified in the ACI 318 code. Two PC beam-column connection specimens with dry mechanical splices and an RC control specimen as the special moment frame were subsequently fabricated and tested under lateral reversed cyclic loadings. Test results showed that the seismic performances of all the PC specimens were fully comparable to the RC specimen in terms of strength, stiffness, energy dissipation, drift capacity, and failure mode, and their hysteresis responses showed a mitigated pinching effect compared to the control RC specimen. The seismic performances of the PC and RC specimens were evaluated quantitatively based on the ACI 374 report, and it appeared that all the test specimens fully satisfied the seismic performance criteria as a code-compliant special moment frame system.

광연결을 위한 포토폴리머형 홀로그래픽 부피격자 커플러의 설계 및 구현 (Design and implementation of photopolymer-based holographic volume grating couplers for optical interconnection)

  • 홀로그래픽 부피격자 커플러(VGC : volume grating coupler)는 높은 선택적 결합효율, 건식 제조공정, 콤팩트한 소자 제작이 가능하고 저렴하기 때문에 광연결 기술의 구현 및 응용에 매우 매력적인 소자로 간주되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 도파로형 광연결에 적용키 위한 $45^{\circ}$ 격자 경사각을 갖는 도파로 삽입형 입 출력 VGC를 DuPont사의 HRF600-20 홀로그래픽 포토폴리머를 이용하여 설계, 구현하기 위한 방법을 제안하였다. 그리고 제안한 VGC 소자의 유용성을 입증키 위해 동작파장이 각각 632.8nm 및 1550nm인 VGC를 제작하고 실험결과를 제시하였다. 실험결과 632.8nm 파장에서 동작하는 격자주기가 $0.5{\mu}m$인 단일 VGC의 경우 TE 편광에서 입력 결합효율은 86.6% 이상이고, 1550nm 파장에서 동작하는 격자주기가 $0.73068{\mu}m$$1\times2$ VGC의 입력 결합효율은 $\sim90.9%$의 특성을 나타내었다.

PECVD 법에 의해 제작된 저굴절률 차이 평판 SiON광도파로 (Low Index Contrast Planar SiON Waveguides Deposited by PECVD)

  • Silicon oxynitride (SiON) 막은 플라즈마 화학기상증착법(PECVD)으로 $SiH_4,\;N_2O$$N_2$ 가스를 사용하여 $SiO_2/Si$ 위해 증착되었다. 증착 변수에 따라서 SiON 막의 굴절률은 prism coupler를 사용하여 1552nm 파장에서 $1.4480\~1.4958$까지 변화하였다. 평판 광도파로 코어로 사용되는 SiON 막의 두께는 $6{\mu}m$이고, buffer 막과의 굴절률 차이(An)는 $0.36\%$이다. 또한 식각 공정으로 $SiO_2$ 막 위에 증착된 SiON 막은 건식식각을 통해서 수행되었다. 광화이버에 $1.55{\mu}m$ 파장의 레이저론 입력단에 조사하였다. 결과적으로 저굴절률 차이 SiON 광도파로를 제작하였으며, 출력단에서 single-mode 형상을 확인하였다.

  • Microwave heating system of KSTAR consists of ECH and LHCD. ECH and LHCD offer the reliability of operation in the beginning of plasma formation and non-inductive current drive for long time steady state operation with maintaining MHD stability, respectively. LHCD demands 5 GHz of frequency and consists of c-band waveguide, 4-port circuitor, dry dummy load, dual directional coupler, E-bend, arc detector. Our system is a lineup type pulse modulator that has 45 kV of output pulse voltage, 90 A of pulse current, 4 us of pulse width. 1:4 step-up pulse transformer, 7 stages of PFN and thyratron tube (E2V, CX1191D) are used in this modulator. The purpose of this paper is to show the modulator design and experimental result.

디아미노피리딘아조계 Red 분산염료들의 합성과 염색성 (Synthesis and Dyeing Properties of Red Disperse Dyes Derived from Diaminopyridines)

  • Disperse dyes derived from heterocyclic compounds such as phenylindole, pyridone, diaminopyridine, and carbazole have been known to exhibit high light fastness and bathochromic shift compared to the coursponding aminoazobenzene. The synthetic method to obtain diaminopyridine derivatives, which can be used as coupling components, was chlorination of pyridone with phosphorous oxychloride, followed by substitution with various primary amines. Four azo disperse dyes were synthesized by coupling four diaminopyridines with 2-cyano-4-nitroaniline as a diazo component. Structures of these dyes were confirmed by $^1H$ NMR spectroscopy. The wavelengths of maximum absorption of the synthesized disperse dyes were in the range of $517\~528nm$, and molar extinction coefficients were $45,700\~50,100$. The dyeability of four disperse dyes toward PET fiber was generally good. Wash and rubbing fastnesses were excellent, while light and dry heat fastness were good.
