  • 마이크로그리드에서 계통 연계 운전시 분산발전시스템은 계통과 함께 부하의 수요를 담당하게 된다. 그러나 계통사고로 인해 시스템이 단독 운전모드로 동작시에는 계통과의 연결 없이 분산 발전만으로 부하의 수요를 담당해야한다. 이때 드룹제어방식은 적절한 부하 sharing을 가능케하고 전압과 주파수를 안정적으로 유지할 수 있게해준다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 드룹제어방식의 단독운전모드시의 인버터 병렬 운전 제어를 통한 13kW급 풍력발전 시스템을 제안하였고 PSIM을 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 이를 검증하였다.

A Study on a Single-Phase Module UPS using a Three-Arm Converter/Inverter

  • The module UPS can flexibly implement expansion of power system capacities. Further-more, it can be used to build up the parallel redundant system to improve the reliability of power system operation. To realize the module UPS, load sharing without interconnection among parallel connecting modules as well as a small scale and lightweight topology is necessary. In this paper, the three-arm converter/inverter is compared with the general full-bridge and half-bridge topology from a practical point of view and chosen as the module UPS topology. The switching control approaches based on a pulse width modulation of the converter and inverter of the system are presented independently. The frequency and voltage droop method is applied to parallel operation control to achieve load sharing. Two prototype 3㎸A modules are designed and implemented to confirm the effectiveness of the pro-posed approaches. Experimental results show that the three-arm UPS system has a high power factor, a low distortion of output voltage and input current, and good load sharing characteristics.

  • 본 논문에서는 software defined radio(SDR) 등의 디지털 RF/IF(Intermediate Frequency)에 사용되는 CIC 필터의 처짐 현상을 위한 보상 필터를 제안한다. 제안된 보상 필터는 근사적 선형 위상 특성을 가지며, interpolator/decimator의 기저 대역에서 가장 낮은 레이트로 동작하는 2차의 필터이므로 저연산량을 요구하므로 비용 효율적이다. 또한 처짐 현상을 보상하면서도 저지대역에서는 성능 열화가 거의 발생하지 않는다 예제를 통한 설계 및 성능 분석 결과, 제안된 보상 방법을 적용한 통신 시스템에 있어서 성능 향상을 보였고, 기존의 보상 방법과 비교하여 성능 및 메모리 사용량, 연산량에서 우수함을 보였다.

Characterization of Optical Properties of Light-Emitting Diodes Grown on Si (111) Substrate with Different Quantum Well Numbers and Thicknesses

  • In recent years there have been many studies of InGaN/GaN based light emitting diodes (LEDs) in order to progress the performance of luminescence. Many previous literatures showed the performance of LEDs by changing the LED structures and substrates. However, the studies carried out by the researchers so far were very complicated and sometimes difficult to apply in practice. Therefore, we propose one simple method of changing the thickness and the numbers of multiple quantum wells (MQWs) in order to optimize their effects. In our research, we investigated electrical and optical properties by changing the well thickness and the number of quantum well (QW) pair in LED structures by growing the structure -inch Si (111) wafer. We defined the samples from LED_1 to LED_3 according to MQW structure. Samples LED_1, LED_2 and LED_3 consist of 5-pair InGaN/GaN (3.5 nm/ 4.5 nm), 5-pair InGaN/GaN (3 nm/4.5 nm) and 7-pair InGaN/GaN (3.5 nm/4.5 nm), respectively. We characterized electrical and optical properties by using electroluminescence (EL) measurement. Also, Efficiency droop was analyzed by calculating external quantum efficiency (EQE) with varying injection current. The EL spectra of three samples show different emission wavelength peaks, FWHM and the blueshift of wavelength caused by screening the internal electric field because of the effect of different MQW structure. The results of optical properties show that the LED_2 sample reduce the internal electric field in QW than LED_1 from EL spectra. the increase in the number of QW pairs reduces the strain and increase the In composition in MQW. And, the points of efficiency droop's peak show different trend from LED_1 to LED_3. It is related with the carrier density in active region. Thus, from the results of experiments, we are able to achieve high performance LEDs and a reduction of efficiency droop and emission wavelength blueshift by optimizing MQWs structure.

Research on the Power Sharing Control and Stability of VSGs

  • Aiming at the deficiencies of power sharing control performances when a traditional droop control is adopted for microgrid inverters, this paper proposes a microgrid inverter power sharing control strategy based on a virtual synchronous generator. This control method simulates the electromechanical transient characteristics of a synchronous generator in a power system by an ontology algorithm and the control laws of a synchronous generator by control over the speed governor and excitation regulator. As a result, that the microgrid system is able to effectively retain the stability of the voltage and frequency, and the power sharing precision of the microgrid inverter is improved. Based on an analysis of stability of a microgrid system controlled by a virtual synchronous generator, design thoughts are provided for further improvement of the power sharing precision of inverters. The simulation results shows that when the virtual synchronous generator based control strategy was adopted, the power sharing performances of microgrid inverters are improved more obviously than those using the droop control strategy.

  • DC distribution system is difficult to compose the single-system because of the capacity restriction of power semiconductors. Therefore, DC Distribution system needs parallel operation of AC/DC converters for increase to system capacity. However, this system generates the circulating current. 쿠바 주파수조정 ESS 운영 전략 검토: 주파수 보상 효과 분석 (Feasibility Study for Application of Frequency Regulation ESS in Cuba: Technological Effects on Improving Frequency Compensation)

  • KEPCO has installed Frequency Regulation ESS (FR ESS) of 376 MW since 2015. Frequency Regulation is ancillary service to support stabilizing system frequency, which is divided into governor free and automatic generation control. KEPCO operates FR ESS as governor free application and leads FR ESS market with capability of diverse demonstration and operation experiences. To expand FR ESS role during transient states of power system, KEPCO has extended operating time of charging and discharging. KEPCO has also changed speed droop lower than before to improve contribution on frequency compensation, and acquired much experiences of differentiating bad cells from others. Based on these technologies and know-hows, KEPCO Research Institutes received request of feasibility study and technical cooperation for overseas FR ESS business. This paper suggests the simple and practical method for making technological feasibility study of FR ESS.

An Equivalent Load Sharing by Wireless Parallel Operation Control in UPS

  • An equivalent load sharing control based on the frequency and voltage droop concept for parallel operation of two three-phase Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems with no control interconnection lines is presented in this paper. First of all, due to the use of active power and reactive power as control variables, the characteristics of output powers according to amplitude and phase differences between output voltages of two UPS systems are analyzed. Secondly, simulation results under different line impedance demonstrate the feasibility of the wireless parallel operation control. Finally, experiments are presented to verify the theoretical discussion with two three-phase 20kVA UPS systems employed TMS320C32, a kind of real time digital signal processor (DSP).

  • This paper proposes a new output voltage control scheme based on the SoC variation of the battery energy storage system (BESS) applicable for the stand-alone DC microgrid. The proposed control scheme provides relatively lower variation of the DC grid voltage than the conventional droop method. The performance of proposed control scheme was verified through computer simulations for a typical stand-alone DC microgrid which consists of BESS, photo-voltaic (PV) panel, engine generator (EG), and DC load. A scaled hardware prototype for the stand-alone DC microgrid with DSP controller was set up in the lab, and the proposed control algorithm was installed in the DSP controller. The test results were compared with the simulation results for performance verification and actual system implementation.

주익장착방식의 추진기관 장착설계 (Propulsion Installation Design on Wing-Mounted-Nacelle Type)

  • 이 연구에서는 100인승 항공기 급의 저익-주익장착나셀(wing mounted nacelle)의 추진기관 장착설계 방법을 제시하였다. 장착설계 방법을 구체적으로 설명하기 위해 세부적인 설계제한조건(design constraint)과 설계요구조건(design requirement and objectives)을 정의하고, 그러한 기준을 근거로 실례의 항공기(K100)를 사용하여 주익장착방식의 장착설계를 수행하였다. 장착설계는 간섭항력(interference drag), roll clearance, ground clearance, nose gear collapse margin, rotor burst, 연료탱크용량 등의 설계제한사항들을 고려하여 엔진성능을 만족시킬 수 있는 최적의 나셀 장착위치(spanwise, FS, WL)와 장착각도(toe-in, incidence, droop angle), wing dry bay의 위치와 크기를 결정하여 향후에 개발될 주익장착방식의 추진기관 장착설계에 활용될 수 있는 설계절차를 구축하였다.
