This study tries to develop model in order to assess personal factors of senior traffic accidents that are widely recognized as one of the social problems. For the current practice. it gathers data (Simulation & Questionnaire Survey) of KOTSA and conducts Poisson and Negative Binomial Regression Analysis to develop traffic accident severity model. The results show that elderly drivers' accidents are mainly affected by attentiveness selection, velocity prediction ability and attentiveness distribution ability in a positive(+) way. Second, non-senior drivers' accidents are also positively(+) influenced by attentiveness selection, velocity prediction, distance perception, attentiveness distribution ability and attentiveness diversion ability. Therefore, influencing factors of senior and non-senior drivers to vehicle accidents are different. This eventually poses a indication that preliminary education for car accident prevention should be implemented based up[n the distinction between senior drivers and non-senior drivers.
Nowadays, most major automobile manufacturers are very interested, and actively involved, in developing driver alcohol detection system for safety (DADSS) that serves to prevent driving under the influence. DADSS measures the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) from the driver's breath and limits the ignition of the engine of the vehicle if the BAC exceeds the reference value. In this study, to optimize the sensor array of the DADSS, we selected sensors by using three different methods, configured the sensor arrays, and then compared their performance. The Wilks' lambda, stepwise elimination and filter method (using a principal component) were used as the sensor selection methods [2,3]. We compared the performance of the arrays, by using the selectivity and sensitivity as criteria, and Sammon mapping for the analysis of the cluster type of each gas. The sensor array configured by using the stepwise elimination method exhibited the highest sensitivity and selectivity and yielded the best visual result after Sammon mapping.
The prediction method of TS parameters, frequency response, and electrical input impedance is proposed with physical properties of parts and results of electromagnetic FEA(Finite Element Analysis) in a loudspeaker driver design. In design for weight reduction and improvement of flux density asymmetry, the prediction results are well coincided with measurement ones. As the applications, it can be applied in design for improvement of the $2^{nd}$ harmonic distortion with flux density distribution analysis. The proposed method is expected to be utilized for reducing trial-and-error process in electromagnetic parts design. It can also be used for providing guidelines for parts selection in the early stages.
As the interactive AI speaker becomes popular, voice recognition is regarded as an important vehicle-driver interaction method in case of autonomous driving situation. The purpose of this study is to confirm whether multimodal interaction in which feedback is transmitted by auditory and visual mode of AI characters on screen is more effective in user experience optimization than auditory mode only. We performed the interaction tasks for the music selection and adjustment through the AI speaker while driving to the experiment participant and measured the information and system quality, presence, the perceived usefulness and ease of use, and the continuance intention. As a result of analysis, the multimodal effect of visual characters was not shown in most user experience factors, and the effect was not shown in the intention of continuous use. Rather, it was found that auditory single mode was more effective than multimodal in information quality factor. In the semi-autonomous driving stage, which requires driver 's cognitive effort, multimodal interaction is not effective in optimizing user experience as compared to single mode interaction.
Recent advancements in modern transportation have led to the active development of various biomedical signal and medical imaging technologies. Particularly, in the field of cognitive/neuroscience, the importance of electroencephalography (EEG) measurement and the development of accurate EEG measurement technology in moving vehicles represent a challenging area. This study aims to extensively investigate and analyze the trends in technology research utilizing EEG during driving. For this purpose, the Scopus database was used to explore EEG-related research conducted since the year 2000, resulting in the selection of about 40 papers. This paper sheds light on the current trends and future directions in signal processing technology, EEG measurement device development, and in-vehicle driver state monitoring technology. Additionally, a ultra compact 32-channel EEG measurement module was designed. By implementing it simply and measuring and analyzing EEG signals, in-vehicle EEG module's functionality was checked. This research anticipates that the technology for measuring and analyzing biometric signals during driving will contribute to driver care and health monitoring in the era of autonomous vehicles.

An objective of VMS(Variable Message Signs) is to make transportation system effective specifically for driver's path selection. The traffic solutions including a VMS problem can be modeled through Game Theory, however, the majority of the studies can not model various driver's response according to VMS information in game theory. So, this paper tries to analyze a driver's response according to VMS traffic informations through evolutionary game theory. We apply a behavior characteristics of driver to evolutionary game theory, then finds drivers are only accepting in case of the biggest pay-off, and if a traffic flow finds a balance over time, ratio of accepting information is converged as an evolutionary stable state gradually. Consequently, the strategy of the other drivers such as traffic problems can not be predicted accurately. In case, drivers repeat between groups and reasonable judgment by the experience, we expect that VMS can provide strategic information through evolutionary game theory.

Researchers in the field of psychology used Electroencephalographic (EEG) to record activities of human brain lot many years. As technology develope, neural basis of functional areas of emotion processing is revealed gradually. So we measure fundamental areas of human brain that controls emotion of human by using EEG. Hands gestures such as shaking and head gesture such as nodding are often used as human body languages for communication with each other, and their recognition is important that it is a useful communication medium between human and computers. Research methods about gesture recognition are used of computer vision. Many researchers study emotion recognition method which uses one of physiological signals and gestures in the existing research. In this paper, we use together physiological signals and gestures for emotion recognition of human. And we select the driver emotion as a specific target. The experimental result shows that using of both physiological signals and gestures gets high recognition rates better than using physiological signals or gestures. Both physiological signals and gestures use Interactive Feature Selection(IFS) for the feature selection whose method is based on a reinforcement learning.
Corporate Laboratories have been a key driver of Korea's economic growth through attaining technology competitiveness. The study is focused on selecting outstanding small and medium corporate laboratories with high R&D capability and fostering the selected laboratories. The main topics of this study are to establish logics regarding the selection process and to propose the implementation schemes of the process. For the selection of outstanding laboratories, this study presents a evaluation indicators based on logic model and verification of the validity of following evaluation indicators through a Pilot test. The evaluation indicators from this study are expected to be in practical use as a reference for support policies of outstanding laboratories' R&D activities. For corporations, these indicators can be used to examine their R&D capability. This study also suggests differentiated policy support measures using the findings to maximize the effectiveness of the selection process.
In this paper, we present a structure of personalized e-Learning system to study for a test formalized by uniform multiple-choice using on/off line mixed estimations as is the case of Driver :s License Test in Korea. Using the system a candidate can study toward the license through the Internet (and/or mobile instruments) within the personalized concept based on IRT(item response theory). The system accurately estimates user's ability parameter and dynamically offers optimal evaluation problems and learning contents according to the estimated ability so that the user can take possession of the license in shorter time. In order to establish the personalized e-Learning concepts, we build up 3 databases and 2 agents in this system. Content DB maintains learning contents for studying toward the license as the shape of objects separated by concept-unit. Item-bank DB manages items with their parameters such as difficulties, discriminations, and guessing factors, which are firmly related to the learning contents in Content DB through the concept of object parameters. User profile DB maintains users' status information, item responses, and ability parameters. With these DB formations, Interface agent processes user ID, password, status information, and various queries generated by learners. In addition, it hooks up user's item response with Selection & Feedback agent. On the other hand, Selection & Feedback agent offers problems and content objects according to the corresponding user's ability parameter, and re-estimates the ability parameter to activate dynamic personalized learning situation and so forth.

As vehicle technology has grown, autonomous driving that does not require driver intervention has developed. Accordingly, CAN security, an network of in-vehicles, has also become important. CAN shows vulnerabilities in hacking attacks, and machine learning-based IDS is introduced to detect these attacks. However, despite its high accuracy, machine learning showed vulnerability against adversarial examples. In this paper, we propose a adversarial CAN frame generation method to avoid IDS by adding noise to feature and proceeding with feature selection and re-packet for physical attack of the vehicle. We check how well the adversarial CAN frame avoids IDS through experiments for each case that adversarial CAN frame generated by all feature modulation, modulation after feature selection, preprocessing after re-packet.
