강원 영동지역의 관광철 폐기물 및 발열량 특성 (Characteristics of Municipal Solid Wastes and Heating Value in Tourist Season of the eastern side of Gangwondo)

  • When we looked at the seasonal food dregs of the eastern side of gangwondo, gangneung city's summer and winter food dregs showed 25.9 and 25.8% respectively due to the presence of beach areas and ski resorts. Sokcho city showed 28.12% in summer and yangyang gun's summer food dregs showed 40.2%. Yangyang gun's august food dregs showed 2.7 times larger than annual average amount. Outlook density showed regional characteristics. Data showed that food dregs' amount rate has been reduced gradually from 2005 because of the prohibition of direct filling up. As a result of compositions analysis, the eastern side of gangwondo's water fraction of living dregs were lower than that of chuncheon city where is located at the gangwondo's inland area. chuncheon city's data showed residential areas 53.5%, community areas 56.8% and commercial areas 55.6%. These discrepancies caused by the characteristics of dregs discharge type and climate. The caloric value of dregs has been increased incrementally after the ban of food dregs' direct filling up. Therefore, heating value of the dregs exceeds the existing furnace design spec and it can cause high caloric value problems, so we need additional research to solve these problems.

Selected Properties of Particleboard Made from Sugar Palm (Arenga pinnata) Dregs

  • Dregs from the sugar palm (Arenga pinnata) starch industry are considered a waste product of the agricultural industry and have not yet been optimally utilized. Therefore, this study aimed to manufacture particleboards from dregs using different amounts of adhesive and particle size ratios. Sugar palm dregs, which had been separated into fibers and powder/fine particles, were used as raw material for making particleboards. The fiber had an average length of 6.84 ± 3.23 cm, while the fine particles were of a size that passed through size 10 mesh and remained in size 60 mesh. Three ratios of fiber to fine particles (100:0, 75:25, and 50:50 wt%) with three different amounts of sucrose-citric acid adhesive (10, 15, and 20 wt%) were used in this study. Increasing the amount of fine particles and the resin content can improve the physical properties and the internal bond strength of boards made from sugar palm dregs. The fine particles possibly filled the gap between the fibers in the particleboard, while the fibers exhibited a high bending strength. As a result, a high-performance particleboard can be attained by combining the composition ratio of fiber/fine particles and resin content. In this study, particleboards made from fiber/fine particles (75:25 wt%) and adhesive content of 15 wt% and 20 wt% had the mechanical properties that met the requirements of Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) A 5908 type 18. Sugar palm dregs have the potential to be used as raw materials to create value-added particleboards.

Phytosterols and Lignans from the Sesame Dregs of Sesamum indicum

  • Phytochemical investigation of the sesame dregs of Sesamum indicum was conducted by open column and prep-HPLC chromatography. Two phytosterols (1 and 2) and two lignans (3 and 4) were isolated from the MeOH extracts of sesame dregs, and identified as ${\beta}$-sitosterol (1), daucosterol (2), sesamin (3), and sesamolin (4) by spectral analysis. Although these compounds were already isolated from sesame, it is important that they were still main phytochemical components in the sesame dregs.

Investigation of supplementation with a combination of fermented bean dregs and wheat bran for improving the growth performance of the sow

  • To investigate the effect of dietary supplementation with a fermented mixture of bean dregs and wheat bran (FBW) on sow performance. FBW was given to sows during late gestation and lactation; in total, 24 sows were randomly assigned to 4 groups (control diet; 3% FBW diet; 6% FBW diet; 9% FBW diet, n = 6). The weight ratio of bean dregs (wet) to wheat bran was 4:6. Sows were fed different diets from 85 d of gestation until weaning. The results showed that supplementation with FBW increased average daily feed intake (ADFI) during lactation (p < 0.05). FBW supplementation also increased litter weight and milk yield (p < 0.05). The contents of Escherichia coli in the feces of the treatment groups were significantly reduced by FBW supplementation (p < 0.01). FBW supplementation significantly improved the fecal morphology (p < 0.05), alleviating sows' constipation. In conclusion, FBW could increase the ADFI, improve lactation and piglet litter weight in sows and reduce the pathogenic bacterial content in sow feces and constipation.

오미자박과 미강 첨가배지가 느타리버섯 자실체의 γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA) 함량에 미치는 효과 (Effect of schizandra berry dregs and rice bran treatment on γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) content enhancement in Pleurotus ostreatus)

  • 느타리버섯(Pleurotus ostreatus)'흑타리'의 기본배지 조성에 농산물 부산물 유래 첨가용 배지를 추가하였을 경우 기억력 증진물질 중인 하나인 GABA(Gamma-amino butyric acid)함량을 증가시킬 수 있는 배지재료와 첨가수준을 구명한 결과는 다음과 같다. '흑타리'는 5% 녹차가루 처리에서 발이율과 수량이 현저히 떨어졌고, 다시마가루는 첨가된 전체 처리구에서 생육이 불량하였으며, 10% 녹차박과 오미자박 처리구에서는 생육이 가장 양호하였으나 녹차박 처리구보다는 오미자박 처리구에서 기능성물질 함량이 더 우수한 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 첨가 수준에 따른 자실체의 GABA 함량은 무처리 대비 녹차가루는 2%, 녹차박은 10%, 다시마가루는 1% 정도 증가되었으나, 오미자박은 5%, 10%, 15%, 미강은 1%처리구에서 1.2~2.1배 수준까지 증가되는 양상을 보였다. 결론적으로, 느타리버섯 '흑타리'의 발이율과 생육 뿐만 아니라 GABA 함량 증가를 고려한 적합 첨가 배지로는 오미자박과 미강처리시 가장 양호했으며, 자실체 GABA 함량은 오미자박 10% 처리구에서 2.1배, 미강 1% 처리구에서 12%정도가 증가됨을 알 수 있었다.

4가지 다른 사료를 흰점박이꽃무지 유충에게 급여시 유충의 체중과 생존율에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Four Different Feeds on Larval Weight and Survival Rate of Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis)

  • This study evaluated the effect of four different feeds on the larval weight and survival rate of Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis (PBS) over five weeks. Four different types of feed (self-fermentation medium, RM medium, Samsung livestock medium, and bean-curd dregs medium) were given to third-instar larvae of PBS. Weight changes and survival rates of PBS larvae were measured weekly for five weeks. During the experimental period PBS larvae showed the highest growth in Samsung livestock medium, followed by bean-curd dregs medium, RM medium, and self-fermentation medium. Survival rate of PBS larvae were the lowest in bean-curd dregs medium, and then in the Samsung livestock medium. Using the Samsung livestock medium can shorten the delivery period of PBS larvae by approximately 40 days based on the larva shipped on average 75 days. Therefore, this study provides information and data on insect farming techniques useful for insect industrialization.

청미래덩굴(망개)잎 에탄올 추출물의 항균효과 (Antimicrobial Effect of Ethanol Extract of Smilax China Leaf)

  • The extract with the dilution of $50\%$ ethanol and treatment of $121^{\circ}C$ for 15min were inhibited highly the growth of staph aureus, Ent. cloacae, Sh. sonnei, A. hydrophila, b. subtilis, St. faecalis and L. casei. of food samples, red-bean dregs with addition of extact of smilax china. leaves or sorbic acid took the similar inhibition effect to microorganisms for the early storage days(1-3days). There was inhibited the growth of microorganisms in strawberry Juice added to 20m1 of $1\%$ extract solution for one storage day in comparison with no addition of smilax china L. Over all with growth inhibition capability to microorganisms and foods, it was believed that the effect and value as the natural food preservatives and the extracts like as this natural plant material took the food safety and it was capable to develop the natural food preservation.

발효된 음식폐기물의 사료화 잠재력에 관한 연구 (Potentials of the Fermented Food Wastes as the Animal Feed)

  • 음식쓰레기를 고속발효시켜 동물사료로서 이용할 수 있는가의 여부를 검토하고자 인하대학교 병원과 한양대학교 병원에서 환자급식용으로 제공하는 음식쓰레기를 일정량 채취하여 140L들이의 고속발효기에서 발효시켰다. 첨가제로서는 수분조절 및 영양분의 균형을 위하여 건조한 비지와 톱밥을 습중량으로 약 40~50% 섞었고 종균제를 내용물 총량의 1/300 정도 넣었으며 $46{\sim}52^{\circ}C$의 발효온도에서 40~48시간 발효시켰다. 건조비지를 수분조절제로 사용한 경우는 조단백질과 조회분, 칼슘, 인의 함량이 시판되는 돼지사료보다 약간 떨어졌으며, 톱밥을 수분조절제로 사용한 경우는 조섬유의 함량만 크게 높았고, 기타 다른 성분은 크게 낮았다. 이러한 사실로 미루어 볼때 건조비지를 첨가제로 사용했을 때만이 보조사료로서의 가치가 인정된다고 하겠다.

비지박을 이용한 섬유질발효사료의 급여가 육성기 한우암소의 발육에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Total Mixed Fermentations with Bean Curd Dregs on Growth Performance of Growing Hanwoo Heifers)

  • 본 연구는 비지박을 이용한 섬유질발효사료(TMF) 급여가 육성기 한우 암소의 증체, 사료섭취량 및 체형변화에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 수행하였다. 6개월령 한우 암소 30두(평균체중 $125.9{\pm}12.0$ kg)를 공시하여 3처리로 각각 10마리씩 완전 임의배치하여 6개월간 사양시험을 수행하였다. 처리구는 T1 (볏짚 자유급여와 배합사료 (체중 1.7%/일) 제한급여구), T2 (TMF 자유 급여구) 및 T3 (TMF, 볏짚 자유급여와 배합사료(체중 1.0%/일) 제한 급여구)로 수행하였다. 섬유질발효사료는 비지박 60%, 옥분 16.5%, 밀기울 10.4%, 볏짚 5%, 왕겨 7%, 요소 0.5%, 고토석회 0.5%, Lactic acid bacteria 0.1%를 첨가하여 제조하였다. 섬유질발효사료의 화학적 성분과 pH 값은 저장 0, 24, 48 및 72시간에 측정하였다. 비지박을 이용한 TMF의 저장기간에 따른 결과에서 건물, 조지방, 및 조섬유의 함량은 차이가 없었다. 저장 72시간에서 ADF 및 NDF함량은 0시간에서 보다 각각 9.52 및 3.15% 유의적으로 감소하였다(p<0.05). pH 또한 저장시간에 따라 점점 감소하였다. 체중, 사료섭취량 및 일당증체량은 TMF 급여구(T2, T3)에서 T1급여구 보다 높았다(p<0.05). 체형변화에 있어서도 T1처리구 보다 TMF 급여구가 높았다(p<0.05). 따라서 본 연구의 결과 비지박을 이용한 TMF 사료의 급여는 육성기 한우 암소의 발육을 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다.

  • In recent year, problems caused by the abuse of drugs hove been analyzed in many cases, especially women's pregnancy. The purchasing of drugs without prescription, the misunderstanding of symptoms of pregnancy(such os vomiting, headache) os other ilnnesses, taking medicine during the pregnancy because of a chronic disease has caused many unfortunate cases Apart from these cases, pregnant women may take several medicines such as anodyne, tranquilizers, hypnotics, and diuretics which also cause critical situations. According to Piper and his colleagues 1987 study, in overage, pregnant women in the United Slates intake 3.1 kinds of additional dregs other than prenatal vitamins and mineral supplements. In those cases, both pregnant women and physicians anticipate inborn deformity. Most drugs which have whole body effects get to the unborn child via the placenta, however, many of these drugs do not have adverse effects(Shepard 1986, 1989). In general, drugs present a stronger effect to unborn children than they do to pregnant women due to the baby's excretion and to the drug metabolism that occurs in the mother's body through the placenta. The effects of dregs on unborn children show different results. depending upon the type of drug, dosage, characteristics. gestational weeks, genetic characteristics of the mother an baby, and many other environmental factors.
