CO2/N2 분리를 위한 SBS/UiO-66 기반의 고투과성 혼합 매질 분리막 (Highly-permeable SBS/UiO-66 Mixed Matrix Membranes for CO2/N2 Separation)

  • 본 논문에서는 UiO-66 입자를 합성하고, 이를 열가소성 탄성중합체인 polystyrene-block-polybutadiene-block-polystyrene (SBS) 블록공중합체 매질에 삽입하는 방식으로 CO2/N2 기체를 분리하기 위한 혼합 매질 분리막을 제조하였다. UiO-66가 고분자 매질에서 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 SBS와 UiO-66의 질량 비율을 변화시켜가며 혼합 매질 분리막을 제조하였다. 또한 UiO-66 입자의 균일한 분산을 위해서 두 차례에 걸친 초음파 처리 및 자성 막대를 이용한 물리적 혼합을 활용하였다. 제조된 시료들은 푸리에 변환 적외분광법(FT-IR), 주사전자현미경(SEM)을 통해 확인하였다. 또한 기체 투과 성능은 time-lag method를 통해 확인하였다. 이때, UiO-66의 함유량이 증가함에 따라 혼합 매질 분리막의 투과도는 크게 증가하였지만, CO2/N2 선택도는 크게 감소하지 않았다. 가장 좋은 성능을 보인 20%의 UiO-66 입자를 함유한 분리막의 경우 663.8 barrer의 CO2 투과도와 13.3의 CO2/N2 선택도를 보여주었다. 이러한 결과는 Robeson plot에서 순수 고분자 막에 비해 upper bound에 더 가까운 성능을 나타냈는데, 첨가된 UiO-66가 선택도를 크게 희생시키지 않고 기체 투과도는 두 배 이상 향상시켰기 때문이다.

레이저 처리에 의한 구상흑연주철의 TiC 복합화에 관한 연구 (Formation of TiC Composite Layer on Ductile Iron by Laser Surface Modification)

  • Commercial ductile iron was coated with titanium and aluminum powders by low pressure plasma spraying and then irradiated with a $CO_2$ laser to produce anti-corrosive TiC composite layer. TiC carbides were precipitated homogeneously in a laser alloyed layer by in-situ reaction between carbon existed in the base metal and titanium with thermal sprayed coating. The formation of gas pores and brittle limited mixing zone with ledeburite microstructure in TiC composite layer were surpressed by the complementary alloying of aluminum. The hardness of TiC composite layer obtained by addition of titanium and aluminum was between 600 and 660 Hv, which was three times as high as the hardness of ferritic ductile iron. From the results of isothermal oxidation at 1123k for 24 hours in air, high temperature oxidation resistance of the TiC composite layer with aluminum was improved and doubled when compared with the TiC composite layer without aluminum.

알루미늄 양극산화 피막의 구조 및 형상이 자기적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of structure and morphology of anodized Al thin film on magnetic properties)

  • In this study, magnetic properties of anodized Al film deposited with ferro-magnetic metals in the capacity of perpendicular magnetic recording media were measured and evaluated to find out the role of structure and morphology of the oxide films on magnetic characteristics. The object of this work was to present the conditions of magnetic thin film formation with more superior magnetic property. Anodizing was carried out under various conditions, and then the anodized film were electro-deposited with Co, Ni, Fe and their alloys. Coercive force and residual magnetization in perpendicular direction increased as the pore length of anodized film increased. It was attributed to the increase of the amount of depoisted metals and the ratio of length/diameter of pores. Morphology of anodized films in phosperic acid was not similar to that of sulfuric acid, and thin films in the former solution had perpendcular magnetic anisostropy because of large diameter, irregular length and distribution of the pores. It was found that magnetic properties of the thin films, which had doubled layer of two metals, were dominated by the metal electrodeposited on the surface of the anodized oxide films.

Gene Editing for Major Allergy Genes using Multiplex CRISPR-Cas9 System & Prime editing in Peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.)

  • Recently, food-induced allergies have emerged as major global concerns. In the past ten years, it has doubled in western nations, and it has also increased in Asia and Africa. In many cases of food allergy, peanut allergy is prevalent, typically permanent, and frequently life-threatening. Therefore, we utilized gene editing techniques on the three major allergen genes in peanuts, Ara h 1, Ara h 2, and Ara h 3. Using gibson assembly and golden gate assembly, we created two vectors, the gRNA-tRNA array CRISPR-Cas9 system and Prime-editing. Using LBA4404 strain and agrobacterium-mediated transformation, the vectors were transferred to two elite Korean peanut lines. After co-cultivation and tissue culture, we extracted the tissue cultured peanut DNA amplified the hygromycin resistance gene and Cas9 gene in the T-DNA region. The integration of the T-DNA region into the host genome was demonstrated by the presence of a specific band in some samples. There have only been a few reported peanut gene editing studies. So, this study will contribute to peanut allergy and gene editing research.

  • 리튬이온전지의 대형화와 범용화에 따라 경제성과 안정성 관점에서 정극재료의 개발은 중요한 과제로 대두되고 있다. 18650 원통형 전지의 에너지 밀도는 발매 초기인 1991년 230Wh/l에서 2005년 2배 이상의 500Wh/l로 증가하였으며, 제품 대부분의 에너지용량은 450~500 Wh/l, 150~190Wh/kg이고 안전성, 제조비 절감 및 장 수명을 중점적으로 개발하고 있다. $LiCoO_2$ 정극활물질 중의 Co가 고가이므로 Co 사용량을 줄이면서 에너지 용량을 향상시키기 위하여 $LiMn_2O_4$, $LiCo_{1/3}N_{i1/3}Mn_{1/3}O_2$, $LiNi_{0.8}Co_{0.15}Al_{0.05}O_2$, $LiFePO_4$-C복합체 (167 mA/g)등이 개발되고 있다. 전동자전거용 전지는 출력밀도 500 Wh/kg, 전동공구용 1,500Wh/kg, EV나 PHEV용으로는 4,000~5,000Wh/kg의 대용량 출력밀도를 요구하고 있으므로 배터리 소재의 성능을 향상시키려고 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 최근 Graphene-sulfur 복합체정극활물질 600 Ah/kg, 2차전지용 분자클러스터(molecular cluster) 320 Ah/kg 등의 새로운 정극활물질이 연구 개발되고 있으므로 실용화가 기대된다.

Triple Matrix Capsulation having Visible Effects and Stabilizing Functions

  • This study is to develop the double capsulation technology in order to increase the conservativeness and stability of unstable materials such as vitamins, polyphenols, natural active ingredients. And also, best way of triple matrix capsulation using natural polymers were detail described. As the first capsulation with w/o/w (water-in-oil-in-water) emulsifying system, our study group was especially made to soft and moisture cream using 5wt% of sucrose ester emulsifier as first capsulation. Nutrient agents are squalane, camellia oil. Triple matrix capsulation was formed with the best stabilized bead type capsules when it blended of chitosan, algin, sodium-potassium alginate. The bead diameter size was about 2.0~4.5mm (mean diameter: 3.2mm). Activity of lactobacillus containing cream for depending on various pH variations showed that alkalinity ($pH=10.8{\pm}0.5$) condition was higher than acidity ($pH=4.2{\pm}0.2$) and neutrality ($pH=7.1{\pm}0.3$) conditions. After a month, it also was certified to the activity of lactobacillus in incubated at $37{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ in culture medium. As application of food industry, we developed the containing lactobacillus capsule and 7 colored kinds of double and triple matrix capsulation in yogurt cream and active ingredients. As for above mentioned those results, one of tool to stabilize the living lactobacillus, doubled matrix capsulation greatly be expected to contribute to food industry. Furthermore, it can be expected to apply the drug delivery system (DDS) to active ingredients of stabilizing technologies at drug, pharmaceutical division and cosmetic industry, etc.

Fabrication and Characterization of Electro-photonic Performance of Nanopatterned Organic Optoelectronics

  • Photonic crystal solar cells have the potential for addressing the disparate length scales in polymer photovoltaic materials, thereby confronting the major challenge in solar cell technology: efficiency. One must achieve simultaneously an efficient absorption of photons with effective carrier extraction. Unfortunately the two processes have opposing requirements. Efficient absorption of light calls for thicker PV active layers whereas carrier transport always benefits from thinner ones, and this dichotomy is at the heart of an efficiency/cost conundrum that has kept solar energy expensive relative to fossil fuels. This dichotomy persists over the entire solar spectrum but increasingly so near a semiconductor's band edge where absorption is weak. We report a 2-D, photonic crystal morphology that enhances the efficiency of organic photovoltaic cells relative to conventional planar cells. The morphology is developed by patterning an organic photoactive bulk heterojunction blend of Poly(3-(2-methyl-2-hexylcarboxylate) thiophene-co-thiophene) and PCBM via PRINT, a nano-embossing method that lends itself to large area fabrication of nanostructures. The photonic crystal cell morphology increases photocurrents generally, and particularly through the excitation of resonant modes near the band edge of the organic PV material. The device performance of the photonic crystal cell showed a nearly doubled increase in efficiency relative to conventional planar cell designs. Photonic crystals can also enhance performance of other optoelectronic devices including organic laser.

강자성층 사이에 초연자성 NiFeCuMo 중간층을 삽입한 3층 박막구조의 자기적 특성 (Magnetic Properties of Three-layered Ferromagnetic Films with a NiFeCuMo Intermediately Super-soft Magnetic Layer)

  • 초연자성을 띠는 코네틱(Conetic; NiFeCuMo) 박막을 상호 중간층으로 강자성체인 CoFe 또는 NiFe 박막 사이에 삽입한 코닝 유리(Corning glass)/Ta(5 nm)/[CoFe or NiFe(5 nm-t/2)]/NiFeCuMo(t = 0, 4, 6, 8, 10 nm)/[CoFe or NiFe(5 nm-t/2)]/Ta(5 nm) 3층 박막구조에 대한 자기적 특성을 조사하였다. CoFe와 NiFe 박막의 자기적 특성은 박막의 두께에 따라 크게 결정되므로 자화 곤란축과 자화 용이축으로 측정된 이방성 자기저항 곡선으로부터 얻은 보자력과 자화율을 각각 비교하였다. 특히 3층 박막구조에서 NiFe 박막 사이에 자유층으로 NiFeCuMo 박막을 삽입하면 높은 자기저항비를 유지하면서 향상된 자장감응도를 유지하는 고감도 바이오센서용 거대자기저항-스핀밸브(giant magnetoresistive-spin valves; GMR-SV) 및 자기터널접합(magnetic tunnel junction; MTJ) 소자로 활용할 수 있다.

기후는 이산화탄소 증가에 얼마나 민감한가? (How Sensitive is the Earth Climate to a Runaway Carbon Dioxide?)

  • 국제기후변화협약 및 정부의 저탄소 정책은 기본적으로 과학이 제시한 이산화탄소 증가에 대한 기후민감도에 근거해야 한다. 그러나 기후민감도의 추정치는 현재까지 연구 단위별로 차이가 커서, 이에 대한 과학적 배경, 한계, 전망을 고찰할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 지금까지의 기후민감도에 대한 국내외 연구 결과를 객관적으로 종합하여 검토한다. 기후민감도를 결정하는 것은 대기와 지면의 각종 물리과정에 의한 기후피드백 작용이며, 이 중 특히 태양 단파복사량을 조절하는 구름, 해빙과 관련된 물리과정은 불확실성이 가장 커서, 부정확한 민감도 추정을 야기하는 것으로 보인다. 이 때문에, 최근 인공위성 자료를 이용하여 추정한 기후민감도는 기후모델들이 갖는 범위(대기 중 이산화탄소 2배 증가당 지구평균기온 2-5 K 증가)에 들거나, 그보다 훨씬 작은 값을 갖는다.
