In this paper, we propose the generation of a double enveloping worm thread profile with a non-developable ruled surface. Thread surface machining cuts all the way from the tip to the tooth root at one time, like full-face contact machining, rather than cutting several times like point machining. This cutting can reduce the cutting duration and achieve the smooth surface that does not require a grinding process for the threaded surface. The mathematical model of the cutting process was developed from theoretical equations, and the tooth surface was generated using two parameters and modeled in the CATIA using the generated Excel data. Additionally, the machining process of the worm was simulated in a numerical control simulation system. To verify the validity of the proposed method, the deviation between the modeling and the workpiece was measured using a 3D measuring machine.
The roughness of substrate concrete interfaces before new concrete placement has a major effect on the interface bond behaviour. However, there are challenges associated with the consistency of the final roughness interface prepared using conventional roughness preparation methods which influences the interface bond performance. In this study, five quantitative interface roughness textures with different roughness tooth angles, depths, and tooth distribution were created to ensure consistency of interface roughness and to evaluate the bond behaviour at a precast and new concrete interface using the splitting tensile test, slant shear test, and double-shear test. In addition, smooth interface specimens and two separate the pitting interface roughness were also utilized. Obtained results indicate that the quantitative roughness has a very limited effect on the interface tensile bond strength if no extra micro-roughness or bonding agent is added at the interface. The roughness method however causes enhanced shear bond strength at the interface. Increased tooth depth improved both the tensile and shear bond strength of the interfaces, while the tooth distribution mainly influenced the shear bond strength. Major failure modes of the test specimens include interface failure, splitting cracks, and sliding failure, and are influenced by the tooth depth and tooth distribution. Furthermore, the interface properties were obtained and presented while a comparison between the different testing methods, in terms of bond strength, was performed.
The threshing of head-feed combine may be accomplished mainly by the action of impact between threshing teeth and rice. In this study, it was attempted to assess threshing performance characteristics of head-feed threshing teeth. And the characteristics of threshing teeth will be applied to the method which could analyze the time and order of impact between teeth and the rice, which was used as a basis for predicting the threshing performance and determining the optimum design parameters. The results of the study are summarized as follows: 1. About 50% of threshed material were threshed by the beginning 7 impacts on the rice bundle. Threshing torque decreased until 25 impacts and did not change thereafter. 2. There was significant difference in the threshability according to the shape of threshing teeth. The triangular-shaped tooth was the most efficient in threshability ratio and the semicircle-shaped tooth was the lowest. There was no significant difference in specific energy requirement for the varied teeth design. Torn-head ratio being generated by the semicircle-shaped and the triangular-shaped teeth in series was less than that by a single tooth with the triangular-shaped and the double setting of the triangular-shaped. Chaff generation ratio by the triangular-shaped and the semicircle-shaped teeth was less than the others tried. 3. The triangular-shaped teeth in series, which was newly designed for this study, showed an intermediate characteristics between the double setting of the triangular-shaped and the semicircle- shaped teeth. Threshability ratio of the triangular-shaped teeth in series was higher than that of the semicircle and lower than the double setting of the triangular-shaped tooth. Torn-head generation ratio for it was about same as that of the semicircle. Chaff being generated by the triangular-shaped teeth in series was about same as the double setting of the triangular-shaped teeth. 4. About 40% of threshed grains which passed through concave were concentrated under the threshing tooth and the rest of grains displayed a skew distribution toward the inlet of threshing chamber.
A gerotor set consists of two elements, an inner rotor and an outer rotor. The outer rotor has one more tooth than the inner rotor and has its centerline positioned at a fixed eccentricity from the centerline of the inner rotor. Although gerotors come in a variety of geometric configurations, all gerotor sets share the basic principle of having generated tooth profiles that provide continuous tight sealing during operation. The size of the gerotor is proportional to the number of teeth and the amount of eccentricity. The interior of an inner rotor with a large number of teeth has an enough space to include other machine elements. In this paper, the double gerotor mechanism, constructed by putting a small gerotor in the interior of a large inner rotor, is conceptualized. The double gerotor set is composed of an inner rotor, a planetary rotor, and an outer rotor. The inside profile of the planetary rotor corresponds to the outer rotor profile of the small gerotor, and the outside profile is the inner rotor profile of the large gerotor. In the double gerotor, the centers of the inner and the outer rotor are coincident because the eccentricities of two gerotors are balanced. The operation of a double gerotor is examined by analyzing the planetary motion, and a feasibility study for application of the double gerotor for hydraulic motors and pumps is performed. The double gerotor set has much application potential as a component of hydraulic systems.

The double teeth include gemination and fusion. The congenital missing tooth is the absence of the tooth. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of double teeth and congenital missing teeth in preschool children of Iksan city. The study population consisted of 1,031 children, 569 boys and 462 girls, aged from 17 to 84 months. The double teeth possess a variety of diagnostic and treatment problems. Gemination is the partial splitting of a single bud into two distinct entities that remain joined in a Siamese twin fashion. Fusion is the joining of two buds. Both may be normal, or one may be a supernumerary tooth. Congenital missing is the absence of one or a few teeth. Twenty three(11 boys and 12 girls) of the 1,031 children had double teeth and 17(8 boys and 9 girls) exhibited congenital missing of teeth. The prevalence of double primary teeth was 2.2%. The prevalence of congenital missing teeth was 1.6%. One subject had double teeth and congenital missing tooth at the same time. Of the 17 cases of congenital missing teeth, one girl showed it in the maxilla and aye boys and six girls had them in the unilateral side of the mandible. There were no significant differences in the prevalence of double teeth and congenital missing teeth between the boys and the girls.

Triple tooth is rare in primary dentition; it is the abnormal fusion of three teeth. There are a few reports of double teeth, but triple teeth are rare. These multiple teeth create several clinical problems, not only esthetic problems but also a high caries susceptibility, congenital missing permanent tooth germ(s), orthodontic problems, and periodontal problems. They also make it difficult to perform pulp treatment because of the complex tooth structure. A 1-year 7-month-old male underwent a partial pulpotomy with mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) when pulp exposure caused by deep caries occurred at a maxillary anterior triple tooth in the first case. The second case was a 1-year 9-month-old male presenting with a fracture line at a mandibular anterior triple tooth. After removing the fractured fragment, a pulpectomy was performed at the remaining primary lateral incisors. Specific complications were not observed during 24 and 6 months of follow-up, respectively.

In this study, full-rounded tip curve of rack and its mating fillet curve of pinion in Involute-circular arc composite tooth profile are derived. Mechanical characteristics are calculated analytically, i.e., Specific sliding, Nominal bending stress at working root circle and the Contact factor of the arc of contact in circular arc part to the arc of double contact. These characteristics compared with standard involute tooth profile are improved in circular arc part of composite tooth profile. To obtain more efficient composite tooth profile, we studied these characteristics with regard to the changes of unwound angle and radius of circualr arc. And a design method of composite tooth profile is suggested. Composite tooth profile are compared with standard involute tooth profile.
In the conventional gerotor design, the circular arc tooth of the outer rotor is first introduced, and then the inner rotor profile is generated by simulating the outer rotor motion while the inner rotor is fixed. The profile generation of tooth meshing exhibits relativity; therefore, the outer rotor profile can be generated by the movement of the inner rotor. In this study, we propose the design of a gerotor with a pin-tooth inner rotor. First, the pin-tooth inner rotor is devised, and then the outer rotor profile is generated. The profile of the inner rotor is simply composed of equally arranged pins along a circle. The root of the inner rotor is designed as a conjugated arc of two pins. The trajectory of the pin center is obtained by the inner rotor operation, and then the outer rotor profile is determined as a parallel curve of the trajectory. In this gerotor design, the inner rotor has a simple configuration, and contact occurs between the pin parts of the inner rotor and the whole profile of the outer rotor. This affects the material selection and machining process. The pin tooth can be used to design the outer and inner rotors, enabling a double gerotor mechanism corresponding to a planetary gear system.
Objective: The Heat Induction Typodont System (HITS), used in some recent studies, has a distinct advantage over previous tooth movement simulation methods. This study aimed to compare inclination and vertical changes between the single-wire and double-wire techniques during en masse retraction with different lengths of lever arms in lingual orthodontics using an upgraded version of the HITS. Methods: Duet lingual brackets, which have two main slots, were used in this study. Forty samples were divided into four groups according to the length of the lever arm (3-mm or 6-mm hook) and the retraction wire (single-wire or double-wire). Four millimeters of en masse retraction was performed using lingual appliances. Thereafter, 3-dimensional-scanned images of the typodont were analyzed to measure inclination and vertical changes of the anterior teeth. Results: Incisor inclination presented more changes in the single-wire groups than in the double-wire groups. However, canine inclination did not differ between these groups. Regarding vertical changes, only the lateral incisors in the single-wire groups presented significantly larger values than did those in the double-wire groups. Combining the effect of hook lengths, among the four groups, the single-wire group with the 3-mm hook had the highest value, while the double-wire group with the 6-mm hook showed the least decrease in crown inclination and extrusion. Conclusions: The double-wire technique with an extended lever arm provided advantages over the single-wire technique with the same lever arm length in preventing torque loss and extrusion of the anterior teeth during en masse retraction in lingual orthodontics.

Background: Hyaluronic acid (HA) is well known to exert an anti-inflammatory effect during oral wound healing and is commonly applied after tooth extraction. However, no double-blind randomized controlled study comparing two hyaluronate mouthwash products has been conducted so far. The aim of this study was to comparatively analyze the efficacy of Mucobarrier® and Aloclair® in terms of clinical symptoms. Results: A total of 112 patients were randomly assigned to assess the degree of discomfort, pain reduction, redness, burning sensation, and swelling between two groups on the day of surgery and 7 days later in a double blind test, with a total 56 Aloclair patients and 56 Mucobarrier patients. There was no statistically significant difference in the overall discomfort, degree of pain reduction, redness, burning sensation, and swelling between the Mucobarrier and Aloclair groups. Conclusion: The local application of hyaluronic acid mouth wash after wisdom tooth extraction is beneficial in reducing overall discomfort and pain reduction, and the clinical utility of Mucobarrier® is no different from Aloclair®.
