유리단국부의치(遊離端局部義齒) 사용시(使用時) 지태치(支台齒) 동요(動搖)에 대한 Splingting의 효과(效果)(II) (Effect of splinting on abutment tooth movement when a distal extension partial denture used(II))

  • The effect of splinting on aqbutment tooth distal movement was performed in vitro study. An acrylic resin mandibular model with missing 2nd premolars, molars and a removable partial denture framework were constructed. The roots of the canines, 1st premolars and edentulous ridges were coated with silicone rubber. A modified Ney Surveyor was used for vertical load appkication, and abutment tooth distal movement were measured with a dial gauge with four conditions of splinting methods were tested by applying unilateral vertical loadings. The results are follows; 1. The magnitude of abutment tooth distal movement on the non-load side was less 40$\sim$69% than that occurred on the load side. 2. On the load side, reducing effect of splinting on abutment tooth movement in the condition of load side double abutment(30%), non-load side double abutment(10%), double abutments of both sides(40%) was compared with single abutments of both sides. 3. On the non-load side, reducing effect of splinting on abutment tooth movement in the condition of load side double abutment(5%), non-load side double abutment(22%), double abutments of both sides(59%) was compared with single abutments of both sides. 4. The magnitude of abutment tooth distal movement in the condition of double abutments of both sides was less 40$\sim$59% than that in the condition of single abutments of both sides.

Saccade 안구운동계의 시뮬레이션 (A new approach for the saccadic eye movement system simulation)

  • Various simulation techniques were developed in the modeling of biological system during the last decades. Mostly analog and hybrid simulation techniques have been used. The authors chose the Digital Analog Simulation (DAS) technique by using the MIMIC language to simulate the saccadic eye movement system performances on the digital computer. There have been various models presented by many investigators after Young & Stark's sampled-data model. The eye movement model chosen by the authors is Robinson's model III which shows the parallel information processing characteristics clearly to the double-step input stimuli. In the process of simulation, the parameter and constants used were based on the neurophysiological data of the human and animals. The analog model blocks were converted to the corresponding MIMIC block diagrams and programmed into the MIMIC statements. The program was run on the CDC Cyber 72-14 computer. The essential input stimulus was double-step of 5 and 10 degrees, and target durations chosen were 50,100 and 150 msec. The results obtained by the DAS technqiue were in good agreement with analog simulation carried out by other investigators as well as with the experimental human saccadic eye movement responses to double-step target movements.

노화에 따른 발화 시 입술움직임의 변화: 이중모음을 중심으로 (Change in lip movement during speech by aging: Based on a double vowel)

  • 본 연구에서는 노화에 따른 발화 시 입술 움직임의 변화를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상으로 평균 69세의 노인 여성 15명과 평균 22세의 젊은 여성 15명을 선정하였다. 입술 움직임을 측정하기 위해 이중모음 발화시 입술 움직임을 녹화하여 스틸 이미지로 저장한 다음 입술의 움직임이 최소인 부분과 최대한 길이를 영상분석 소프트웨어를 이용하여 pixel 단위로 수작업으로 분석하여 비교하였다. 임상적 활용성을 위해 자동화 알고리즘을 적용하여 소프트웨어를 제작했으며 수작업의 결과와 비교하였다. 연구결과 노년층의 경우 청년층에 비해 이중모음 과제에서 입술의 가로 및 세로의 길이 범위가 작은 것을 알 수 있었다. 수작업과 자동화 방법의 상관관계를 측정한 결과 강한 정적 상관관계가 나타나 두 방법 모두 입술 윤곽 추출 시 유용함을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 노화가 진행됨에 따라 발화 시 입술의 범위가 작아지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 노화가 진행되기 전 간단하게 입술의 움직임을 측정하여 본인의 상태를 모니터링하고 입술 범위를 유지할 수 있는 운동을 실시한다면 노화로 인한 발음 문제를 예방할 수 있을 것이다.

비대칭 이중게이트 MOSFET의 도핑농도에 대한 문턱전압이동 (Channel Doping Concentration Dependent Threshold Voltage Movement of Asymmetric Double Gate MOSFET)

  • 본 연구에서는 비대칭 이중게이트(double gate; DG) MOSFET의 채널 도핑농도 변화에 따른 문턱전압이동 현상에 대하여 분석하였다. 비대칭 DGMOSFET는 일반적으로 저 농도로 채널을 도핑하여 완전결핍상태로 동작하도록 제작한다. 불순물산란의 감소에 의한 고속 동작이 가능하므로 고주파소자에 응용할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 미세소자에서 필연적으로 발생하고 있는 단채널 효과 중 문턱전압이동현상이 비대칭 DGMOSFET의 채널도핑농도의 변화에 따라 관찰하고자 한다. 문턱전압을 구하기 위하여 해석학적 전위분포를 포아송방정식으로부터 급수형태로 유도하였다. 채널길이와 두께, 산화막 두께 및 도핑분포함수의 변화 등을 파라미터로 하여 도핑농도에 따라 문턱전압의 이동현상을 관찰하였다. 결과적으로 도핑농도가 증가하면 문턱전압이 증가하였으며 채널길이가 감소하면 문턱전압이 크게 감소하였다. 또한 채널두께와 하단게이트 전압이 감소하면 문턱전압이 크게 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 산화막 두께가 감소하면 문턱전압이 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we propose a system that is configured with double stereo-visions to measure jaw movement. This new system measures not only left and right hinge points of jaw motion but also floating paths of hinge points during lateral and protrusive movement. The resulting 3D position and path data can also be used for 3D graphic simulation technique for occlusion diagnosis and therapy. The system also considers the compatibility with conventional occlusion therapy devices.

단일 사각 레일 주행이 가능한 감시 로봇 설계 (Development of an Inspection Robot Operating on a Single Square Rail Track)

  • This paper proposes an inspection robot that can operate on a single square rail. Various inspection robots have been developed to identify emergency situations in industrial environments, such as those involving fires or individuals with cardiac arrest. Because the robots must operate in wide areas and long tunnels, they are designed to move along a rail installed on the ceiling. Double rail track are typically used to ensure the stability of robot movement. However, the cost for installing a double rail track is nearly two times that for a single rail track. Moreover, it is challenging to install double rail tracks while ensuring the same curvature and interval between the two rails. Therefore, in this study, an inspection robot that operate on a single square rail track is developed. To ensure stable movement in the longitudinal and lateral directions, two passive guide parts are used, and the main active wheel is allowed to move on the upper side of the square rail. The prototype was manufactured, and experiments were performed for different robot velocities.

양발 드롭랜딩 시 만성적인 발목 불안정성 유무에 따른 하지주요관절의 역학적 특성 (Biomechanical Characteristic on Lower Extremity with or without Chronic Ankle Instability during Double Leg Drop Landing)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate differences of landing strategy between people with or without chronic ankle instability (CAI) during double-leg drop landing. Method: 34 male adults participated in this study (CAI = 16, Normal = 18). Participants performed double-leg drop landing task on a 30 cm height and 20 cm horizontal distance away from the force plate. Lower Extremities Kinetic and Kinematic data were obtained using 8 motion capture cameras and 2 force plates and loading rate was calculated. Independent samples t-test were used to identify differences between groups. Results: Compared with normal group, CAI group exhibits significantly less hip internal rotation angle (CAI = 1.52±8.12, Normal = 10.63±8.44, p = 0.003), greater knee valgus angle (CAI = -6.78±5.03, Normal = -12.38 ±6.78, p = 0.011), greater ankle eversion moment (CAI = 0.0001±0.02, Normal = -0.03±0.05, p = 0.043), greater loading Rate (CAI = 32.65±15.52, Normal = 18.43±10.87, p = 0.003) on their affected limb during maximum vertical Ground Reaction Force moment. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that CAI group exhibits compensatory movement to avoid ankle inversion during double-leg drop landing compared with normal group. Further study about how changed kinetic and kinematic affect shock absorption ability and injury risk in participants with CAI is needed.

Comparison of inclination and vertical changes between single-wire and double-wire retraction techniques in lingual orthodontics

  • Objective: The Heat Induction Typodont System (HITS), used in some recent studies, has a distinct advantage over previous tooth movement simulation methods. This study aimed to compare inclination and vertical changes between the single-wire and double-wire techniques during en masse retraction with different lengths of lever arms in lingual orthodontics using an upgraded version of the HITS. Methods: Duet lingual brackets, which have two main slots, were used in this study. Forty samples were divided into four groups according to the length of the lever arm (3-mm or 6-mm hook) and the retraction wire (single-wire or double-wire). Four millimeters of en masse retraction was performed using lingual appliances. Thereafter, 3-dimensional-scanned images of the typodont were analyzed to measure inclination and vertical changes of the anterior teeth. Results: Incisor inclination presented more changes in the single-wire groups than in the double-wire groups. However, canine inclination did not differ between these groups. Regarding vertical changes, only the lateral incisors in the single-wire groups presented significantly larger values than did those in the double-wire groups. Combining the effect of hook lengths, among the four groups, the single-wire group with the 3-mm hook had the highest value, while the double-wire group with the 6-mm hook showed the least decrease in crown inclination and extrusion. Conclusions: The double-wire technique with an extended lever arm provided advantages over the single-wire technique with the same lever arm length in preventing torque loss and extrusion of the anterior teeth during en masse retraction in lingual orthodontics.

Double crown retained RPD의 4년 임상 관찰 (DOUBLE CROWN RETAINED REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURE - 4 YEARS IN RETROSPECT)

  • Statment of problem : Little in known about the importance of selection of various double crowns as retainer in determining the outcome of treatment with double crown retained removable partial denture. Purpose : To obtain information about the effects and the results of this treatment modality. Material and methods : This study describes 61 double crown retained removable partial dentures worn by 51 patients from Samsung Medical Center, Seoul a time ranging between 6 and 48 months and evaluate occlusal contacts on the denture teeth, denture movement, incidence of denture relining, denture retention, fracture of dentures and abutments, hygiene, residual ridge inflammatory changes, number of lost abutment,. interruption of denture use. Results : One tenth of all the restorations were relined. Restorations in 21 arches fractured repeatedly for various reasons . There was no apparent interrelationship between fractures and the five groups. Conclusion : Good prognoses of removable partial dentures were shown in all groups(Kennedy Classes I, II, III, combination and few remaining abutment).
