The purposes of this study were to identify brand equity factors influencing brand preference and to investigate the effects of preference and other factors on brand performance of domestic and imported fashion accessary(handbag, shoes, purse, etc.) brands. A total of 300 women aged between 20 and 49 years were surveyed during the month of September, 2006, on 2 domestic brands and 2 imported brands that were well-known to consumers. The data were analyzed with factorial analysis, multiple regression analysis, ANOVA, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, etc., using the SPSS 10.0. The result of research showed: 1) Four factors of brand equity were identified: quality, awareness, image, and trust. 2) Quality, awareness, price acceptability, distribution proximity, and brand performance of the domestic brands were higher than those of the imported brands. But brand preference of the imported brands was higher than that of the domestic brands. 3) Brand preference of the domestic brands was affected by quality, awareness, image, and trust. And brand performance of the domestic brands was affected by appropriateness, brand preference, and distribution proximity. 4) Brand preference of the imported brands was affected by image, quality, awareness, and trust. And brand performance of the imported brands was affected by price acceptability, appropriateness, and distribution proximity.
Brand equity has been treated conspicuously since the late 1980s. The purpose of this study was to develop a model brand equity model by examining the structural relationship among dimensions (brand loyalty, perceived quality, brand association/image, brand awareness) of brand equity, to compare differences between local brands and multinational brands. For this study, a total of 540 survey questionnaires were analyzed the results. All results were conducted using the frequency, factor analysis, regression and t-test procedure of the SPSS 12.0 package. The t-test revealed that consumers expose that recognize foreign brand constituents as better than domestic brand constituents. The determinant factors of brand equity were summarized as brand loyalty, perceived quality, brand association/ image, and brand awareness. Among these, four factors had a significant affected on the level of brand equity. Specifically, there was a difference between domestic brand and foreign brands. Among domestic brands the level of brand equity was significantly affected by brand loyalty, brand association/image, and brand awareness. However foreign brands were significantly affected by brand loyalty and perceived quality.

But brand awareness of the imported brands was higher than that of the domestic brands. 3) Brand preference of the domestic brands was affected by social reputation, quality, brand image, and brand awareness in order of significance. And brand performance of the domestic brands was affected by brand preference, appropriateness, price acceptability and distribution proximity in order of significance. 4) Brand preference of the imported brands was affected by brand image, social reputation, brand awareness, and quality in order of significance. And brand performance of the imported brands was affected by appropriateness, price acceptability, brand preference, and distribution proximity in order of significance.
The objectives of this study were to examine the differences in brand selection motives according to the domestic and foreign brand selection with shirts and jeans and to disclose the relationships between the brand selection and consumers' charcteristics; like their demographic variables sociability and superiority. Samples were 262 college women in Seoul Korea. The data were analyzed using t-test paired t-test χ2-test and discriminant analysis. The results of the study were the followings. 1. Purchasers of foreign brand were influenced by 'quality' 'wearing of others', 'reputation of brand', 'possibility of credit card use' more than those of domestic while purchasers of domestic brand were influenced by price. 2. Purchasers of foreign brand had more tendency to decide which brand to buy in advance than those of domestic. 3. 6 brand selection motives consumers' income and sociability contributed to discriminating the group of domestic and foreign brand purchase with shirts. The accuracy of the predicting the groups by the 8 variables was 75.95% Consumers high in sociability and income belonged to the group of foreign brand purchase. 4,6 brand selection motives consumers' age and superiority contributed to discriminating the group of domestic and foreign brand purchase with jeans. The accuracy of the predicting the groups by the 8 variables was 72.52% Consumers high in sociability and income belonged to the group of foreign brand purchase. 4. 6 brand selection motives consumer's age and superiority contributed to discriminating the group of domestic and foreign brand purchase with jeans. This research is to figure out how people recognize and perceive on cosmetic attributions of imported brand and domestic brand. In other words, we are trying to analyze the brand images and figure out how they are different in demographic perspective. For this research, this research has been fulfilled from September 20th 2011 to November 5th. We have surveyed women with age between 20's to 50's. With 477 data, we have analyzed by using SPSS 18.0 Version of statistic package. We have used frequency analysis, t-test and one way ANOVA (chi-square test) for data processing method. By comparing and analyzing the 16 attribute types of imported and domestic cosmetics, there were no attention difference on 7 questionaries' but there were attention difference on 9 questionnaires'. 5 questionaries' which show higher recognition on domestic brand of cosmetic than imported brand were shown. 4questionaries' which show higher recognition on imported brand of cosmetic than domestic brand were shown. By examining the different recognitions between domestic brand and imported brand of cosmetics in demographic perspective, it did not show any attentive difference on domestic brand by district residence, age, academic ability, marriage, occupation and monthly income average. But it showed attentive difference on imported cosmetic brand. It showed that people who live in capital region, with younger age and who have not been married have high rate of preference on imported cosmetic brand. It also showed that people who have higher academic ability and with higher monthly income average have high rate of preference on imported cosmetic brand. Especially, specialized job showed highest preference.
The purpose of this study was to compare consumers' evaluation, evaluation criteria and preference factors, complaint factors on domestic brand apparel with consumers' responses on foreign brand apparel. 498 subjects were gathered through convenience sampling method and, for data analysis, mean, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, Factor Analysis were conducted. The results are as follows; 1. Among the purchasing groups of domestic/foreign brand apparel, there were significant differences in apparel evaluation according to fabric, style, sewing, versatility, match, washability and color. 2. Among the purchasing groups of domestic/foreign brand apparel, there were significant differences in apparel evaluation criteria according to price, match, brand name, washability. 3. Purchasers of domestic brand apparel preferred soft and light fabric, fabric of good tactility, simple and sophisticated style whereas purchasers of foreign brand apparel preferred soft and light fabric, fabric of high quality, elegant and sophisticated style. On apparel color preference, there were significant differences among the purchasing groups of domestic/foreign brand apparel. 4. The differences in complaint factors of apparel among the purchasing groups of domestic/foreign brand apparel were due to factors such as high quality and variety of fabrics, colors, items, styles.
In this study, 70 national brands among men's wear brands were selected to examine linguistic characteristics of domestic national men's wear brand names. Linguistic factors which were used in national men's wear brand names were analyzed to understand their characteristics. Formative and semantic characteristics of each brand name were analyzed on the basis of the results from previous studies. It was found that long words with over four syllables are preferred than short words and single words in the form of noun are frequently used for domestic national men's wear brand names in terms of linguistic formality. English is most widely used in brand names, and European languages such as French, Spanish, and Italian are also used frequently under the influence of the country of origin. Next, the analysis result on the semantic characteristics of domestic national men's wear brand names showed that descriptive brand names are used to convey brand information directly and easily, or freestanding brand names which are absolutely irrelevant and newly coined words are chosen to create a characteristic image. In other words, brand names represent detailed business and product category of men's wear by forming a brand image of men's wear (ex. Man, Homme, Zio), and provide the information about properties and benefits related to the product such as dignity, masterpiece, and luxurious lifestyle to consumers by presenting the concept of the brand.

Purpose: The is study aimed to examine the impact of consumer ethnocentrism on reasoned action and brand equity on Generation Z in Vietnam. Research design, data and methodology: A quantitative study was undertaken on 302 Generation Z members. The data for the study was collected using a Google Form-based questionnaire from December 2021 to January 2022. Descriptive statistics, Cronbach's alpha, and structural equation modeling were among the data analysis techniques employed. The results: The results show that consumer ethnocentrism has a direct positive impact on reasoned action (subjective norms and attitude toward domestic goods) as well as an indirect positive impact on brand equity, including brand awareness, brand quality, and brand image. Major findings: According to the findings of this study, governments should continue to push propaganda and advocacy programs, call for national pride and encourage home consumers to support and use domestic goods. Domestic brands must strengthen their ties to the community and invest in community-oriented programs that promote domestic consumption. Vietnam's domestic fashion brands need to promote the exploitation of community-oriented and nationalistic content to call on domestic consumers to support them to consume domestic brands.
The fashion industry has been placing great importance on establishing and communicating brand identity in response to the rapidly changing landscape of consumer preference and media development. This study aimed to explore effective communication methodologies for building a strong brand identity for domestic designer fashion brands. To achieve this, trends in the domestic fashion industry were categorized, and key words were derived to develop three new communication methodologies through an analysis of 10 domestic brand cases. This study confirmed that a strategy that focuses on forming emotional relationships with consumers is essential for establishing brand identity. To this end, the proposed communication methodologies include the following: First, delivering sustainable messages through emotional storytelling, which is a key approach for building emotional bonds with consumers. Second, expanding the brand experience to elicit positive responses from consumers by immersing them in special situations to experience brand identity. Third, brands can enhance consumer brand loyalty by fostering continuous relationships with consumers and cultivating brand culture through omnichannel strategies that encompass both offline and online channels. Consequently, this study presents practical strategies for various fashion brands along with theoretical contributions to domestic fashion brand startups and brand identity construction. With these strategies, it is anticipated that brands will establish clear and specific content and build a stronger brand identity by engaging in diverse communication methods that offer consumers sustainable values and brand experiences.
This research was carried out by setting hypotheses on recognition of the global image of the research subject, a domestic cosmetic brand and consequent quality of the brand, reputation of the brand, purchasing decision, influence of images of expanded countries and their correlations to investigate what effect the global images of local brands practically have on domestic consumers' purchasing decision. The analysis results show that overseas expansion of the research subject brand has positive influence on the brand possessing global images. However, it can be seen that the quality of the brand has much larger influence on the reputation of the brand than the images of global brand. In addition, the images of the expanded countries have influence on purchasing decisions but the global images based on the expanded countries did not have much influence on purchasing decisions. Therefore, it can be seen that global images based on high levels of brand reputation and quality are requirements of a most competitive brand than images of the expanded countries in forecasting likelihood of purchase.
