Analysis of SAR Distribution Characteristics in a Head Model using FDTD (FDTD를 이용한 인체 두부모델의 SAR 분포특성 해석)

  • This paper presents an analysis of SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) distribution characteristics in a head model using FDTD(Finite Difference Time Domain). In this study human head was modelled in four elements-layered structure, consisting of skin, fat, skull and brain. To calculate the electromagnetic fields wihtin the head model, FDTD method was used. In the FDTD method, the electromagnetic wave is analyzed by solving a Maxwell's equations repeatedly. For the calculation, distance between power source and head model increased by 10[m]. Power density and incident electric field intensity were calculated. Based on the incident electric field, the program which calaculated internal electric fields intensity and SAR calculation of the head model were developed. The results of developed program using FDTD were compared with those of a commericial programs, which showed the availability and usefulness of the suggested scheme in this paper.

  • Boiling point (BP) is one of the most fundamental physicochemical properties of organic compounds to characterize and identify the thermal characteristics of target compounds. Previously developed QSPR equations, however, still had some limitation for the specific compounds, like high-energy molecules, mainly because of the lack of experimental data and less coverage. A large BP dataset of 5,923 solid organic compounds was finally secured in this study, after dedicated pre-filtration of experimental data from different sources, mostly consisting of compounds not only from common organic molecules but also from some specially used molecules, and those dataset was used to build the new BP prediction model. Various machine learning methods were performed for newly collected data based on meaningful 2D descriptor set. Results of combined check showed acceptable validity and robustness of our models, and consensus approaches of each model were also performed. Applicability domain of BP prediction model was shown based on descriptor of training set.

  • The number of websites in Korea is increasing rapidly as demonstrated by more than 510,000websites registered under the ".kr" domain as of the end of December 2000. In order to effectively copewith the deluge of web information and maintain ready access to useful information on the web,utilization and management of web information through websites that have been evaluated and ratedfavorably is becoming increasingly important. As websites now increasingly provide industry-specificinformation, information managers are now finding it essential to meet their specific information needsthrough separation and ranking of useful information from the rest.However, evaluation of industry-specific information requires industry-specific expertise as well asgeneral website evaluation tools. This paper develops a website evaluation model and attempts to rankindustry-specific websites through case studies of previous website evaluation and consultation withexperts in specific industries. Based on the model developed, this paper selects 100 outstanding websitesin 10 areas of construction industry. The research also hypothesizes that, with appropriate modifications,the rating models used for the construction industry can also be applied to other industries for moreefficient information management.e efficient information management.

  • Many researchers have studied component technologies with concept, methodology and implementation for partial business domain, however there are rarely researches for component classification to manage these systematically. In this paper, we suggest a component classification model, which can make component reusability higher and can derive higher productivity of software development. We take four focuses generalization, abstraction, technology and size. The generalization means which category a component belongs to. The abstraction means how specific a component encapsulates its inside. The technology means which platform for hardware environment a component can be plugged in. The size means the physical component volume.

A Dynamic Internet Address Model for Providing Customized Information (사용자 맞춤형 정보 제공을 위한 동적 인터넷 주소 모델)

  • The referents of internet addresses are no longer limited to web sites. A new address service by the international organization for the internet address (ICANN) introduces an open space for the TLD (Top Level Domain) strings so that each service, content, product, and other linguistic expressions may be allowed. The open TLD addresses are more suitable for representing the address of service units, contents, or products. In this paper, as an alternative to static Internet address service to return a consistent mapping result regardless of a user-specific different requirements, we design a dynamic internet address mapping model that returns mapping result to suit user particular requirements. In addition, we propose a method for implementing a internet address service without any changes in the existing domain protocols. It may implement a dynamic internet address by attaching to a encoded user's metadata and environment data within a internet address representation, and adding the module for dynamic mapping to the name servers. Through this proposal, trying to expand the functions of internet address, it is expected to be able to provide customized informaiton retrieval services for each user by using just internet address.

Peak Factors for Bridges Subjected to Asynchronous Multiple Earthquake Support Excitations

  • Accurate response analysis of long span bridges subjected to seismic excitation is important for earthquake hazard mitigation. In this paper, the performance of a typical four span continuous reinforced concrete bridge model subjected to asynchronous multiple seismic excitations at the supports is investigated in both the time and frequency domains and the results are compared with that from a relevant uniform support excitations. In the time domain analysis, a linear modal superposition approach is used to compute the peak response values. In the frequency domain analysis, linear random vibration theory is used to determine the root mean square response values where the cross correlation effects between the modal and the support excitations on the seismic response of the bridge model are included. From the two sets of results, a practical range of peak factors which are defined to be the ratio of peak and the root mean square responses are suggested for displacements and forces in members. With reliable practical values of peak factors, the frequency domain analysis is preferred for the performance based design of bridges because of the computational advantage and the generality of the results as the time domain analysis only yields results for the specific excitation input.

  • Spatiotemporal phenomena are ubiquitous aspects of real world. In the spatial and temporal databases, integrity constraints maintain the semantics of specific application domain and relationship between domains when proceed update in the database. Efficient maintenance of data integrity has become a critical problem, since testing the validity of a large number of constraints in a large database and after each transaction is an expensive task. Especially, in spatiotemporal domain, data is more complex than traditional domains and very active. Additionally, it is not considered that unified frameworks deal with both spatial and temporal properties to handle integrity constraints. Therefore, there need a model to maintain integrity constraints in the unified frameworks and enforcement and management techniques in order to preserve consistence.

A Dynamic Ontology-based Multi-Agent Context-Awareness User Profile Construction Method for Personalized Information Retrieval

  • With the increase in amount of data and information available on the web, there have been high demands on personalized information retrieval services to provide context-aware services for the web users. This paper proposes a novel dynamic multi-agent context-awareness user profile construction method based on ontology to incorporate concepts and properties to model the user profile. This method comprehensively considers the frequency and the specific of the concept in one document and its corresponding domain ontology to construct the user profile, based on which, a fuzzy c-means clustering method is adopted to cluster the user's interest domain, and a dynamic update policy is adopted to continuously consider the change of the users' interest. The simulation result shows that along with the gradual perfection of the our user profile, our proposed system is better than traditional semantic based retrieval system in terms of the Recall Ratio and Precision Ratio.

Text Mining and Sentiment Analysis for Predicting Box Office Success

  • After emerging online communications, text mining and sentiment analysis has been frequently applied into analyzing electronic word-of-mouth. This study aims to develop a domain-specific lexicon of sentiment analysis to predict box office success in Korea film market and validate the feasibility of the lexicon. Natural language processing, a machine learning algorithm, and a lexicon-based sentiment classification method are employed. To create a movie domain sentiment lexicon, 233,631 reviews of 147 movies with popularity ratings is collected by a XML crawling package in R program. We accomplished 81.69% accuracy in sentiment classification by the Korean sentiment dictionary including 706 negative words and 617 positive words. The result showed a stronger positive relationship with box office success and consumers' sentiment as well as a significant positive effect in the linear regression for the predicting model. In addition, it reveals emotion in the user-generated content can be a more accurate clue to predict business success.

The Citizen Advisory Model for E-Government Service

  • This paper proposes a design of a citizen advisory model under the consideration of the unique characteristics of the government, namely complex structure of goals, predominance by laws, knowledge driven organization, and the good governance objectives. The legal knowledge-based technology is explored with the aims to facilitate citizens in accessing e-government services in five phases: search, intake, decision-making, explanations, and objection and appeal phases. The design of the citizen advisory model consists of four components: specific service advice, customized form fill-in service, decision-making services, and a statement of reasons service. The prototype of the citizen advisory model is illustrated using the Thai Anti Dumping and Countervailing Act 1999 as a legal domain and e-government services example.
