  • This study intends to investigate the process of the development of quantity concept and how to deal with the quantity calculus in elementary school, and to find out the implication for improving the curriculum and mathematics textbooks of Korea. There had been the binary Greek categories of discrete number and continuous magnitude in quantity concept, but by the Stevin's introduction of decimal, the unification of these notions became complete. As a result of analyzing of the curriculum and mathematics textbooks of Korea, there is a tendency to disregard the teaching of quantity and its calculus compared to the other countries. Especially multiplication and division of quantity is seldom treated in elementary mathematics textbooks. So these should be reconsidered in order to seek the direction for improvement of mathematic teaching. And Korea's textbooks need the emphasis on the quantity calculus and on constructing quantity concept.

  • This study intends to analyze the library classification of agriculture in DDC, from the Int edition to the 21th edition. Since Dewey Decimal Classification(DDC) was the first published in 1876, number of total items increased significantly a newly-organized and subdivision of them in the 8th, 10th and 12th edition. According as the discipline developed and was specialized, the agricultural division in DDC was fractionized, and new subjects were continuously added to it. After that time the first edition, the major changes arranged an class and order in the 15th and 17th edition. That is to say, ‘Farm economics’ in 631.1 was relocated to 338.1 in the 17th and ‘Veterinary sciences’ in 619 was relocated to 636.089 in the 15th. Especially, up to now ‘Farm Economics’ deals with an important branch in the science of agriculture. Here the matter of argue heatedly arranges it from economics to agriculture.

  • In this paper, we design the IFFT/FFT (Inverse fast Fourier Transform/Fast Fourier Transform) modules for IEEE 802.11a-1999, which is a standard of the High-speed Wireless LAN using the OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). The designed IFFT/FFT is the 64-point FFT to be compatible with IEEE 802.11a and the pipelined architecture which needs neither serial-to-parallel nor parallel-to-serial converter. We compare four types of IFFT/FFT modules for the hardware complexity and operation : R22SDF (Radix-2 Single-path Delay feedback), the R2SDF (Radix-2 Single-path Delay feedback), R2SDF (Radix-4 Single-path Delay Feedback), and R4SDC (Radix-4 Single-path Delay Commutator). In order to minimize the error, we design the IFFT/FFT module to operate with additional decimal parts after butterfly operation. In case of the R22SDF, the IFFT/FFT module has 44,747 gate counts excluding RAMs and the minimized error rate as compared with other types. And we know that the R22SDF has a small hardware structure as compared with other types.

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of an atmospheric pressure plasma (APP) jet on L. monocytogenes inactivation, quality characteristics, and genotoxicological safety of cooked egg white and yolk. APP treatment using He gas resulted in a 5 decimal reduction in the number of L. monocytogenes in cooked egg white, whereas that using $He+O_2$, $N_2$, and $N_2+O_2$ decreased the number further, and to undetectable levels. All treatments of cooked egg yolk resulted in undetectable levels of inoculated L. monocytogenes. There were no viable cells of total aerobic bacteria after APP treatment on day 0 while the control showed approximately 3-4 Log CFU/g. On day 7, the numbers of total aerobic bacteria had increased by approximately 3 log cycles in cooked egg white, but there were no viable cells in cooked egg yolk after 2 min of APP jet. APP treatment decreased the $L^*$-values of cooked egg white and yolk significantly on day 0. No significant sensory differences were found among the cooked egg white samples, whereas significant reductions in flavor, taste, and overall acceptability were found in cooked egg yolks treated with APP jets. SOS chromotest did not reveal the presence of genotoxic products following APP treatments of cooked egg white and yolk. Therefore, it can be concluded that APP jets can be used as a non-thermal means to enhance the safety and extend the shelf-life of cooked egg white and yolk.

  • This paper proposes an efficient frequency and symbol synchronization structure which could solve problems of the conventional methods to implement DVB-T receive modem which adopted OFDM transmission method. The main considerations of frequency synchronization algorithms are that the frequency tracking performance is not stable enough, and lots of symbols are required, especially when the decimal part of normalized frequency offset (which original frequency offset is divided by the subcarrier spacing) is around $\pm$0.5 to solve these problems, we propose an efficient frequency offset is divided by the subcarrier spacing) is around $\pm$0.5 by using the average of coarse synchronization over several symbol. Also, we suggest a new symbol synchronization structure which is easy to implement without performance degradation in multipath fading channel with only coarse symbol synchronization by making window offset to the range of guard interval in contrast to the conventional structure of dividing symbol synchronization in fine and coarse mode during synchronization. By extensive simulation, we have shown the superiority of the proposed schemes.

  • This study aims to content analysis of Library Classification System in the North Korean. Also This paper is analyze and overview to conceptual framework. Notational system. Principle of hierarchy in the North Korean's Library Classification System. Libraries usually arrange their collections according to the systematic structure of the library classification. A decimal point follows the third digit. After which division by ten continues to the specific degree of classification needed. This system is based on the social and communism thought. The libraries in the South and the North has different concepts, goals, information resources, classification system and the different ways of using them. Considering the practical aspects of the libraries and the reasons for their existence, they must structure the mutual cooperative system so as to minimize the shock when confronting the social changes, so-cold the national unification.

  • To improve hygienic quality of vegetable fresh juice containing non-thermal process materials, an irradiation technology ($0{\sim}5\;kGy$) was applied and microbiological and physicochemical changes were evaluated during storage. The initial number of total aerobic bacteria of vegetable fresh juice containing non-thermal process materials was $4.8{\times}10^3\;CFU/mL$ and the number was increased during storage. At day 7, the number reached $3.0{\times}10^5\;CFU/mL$. However, the samples gamma-irradiated at $1{\sim}5\;kGy$ were $1.2{\times}10^2{\sim}1.0{\times}10^3\;CFU/mL$, which was lower than that of control and higher than 3 kGy irradiation, showing more than a decimal reduction. The lightness and yellowness of irradiated sample was higher than control but no difference was found among storage days; whereas, redness was decreased by gamma irradiation with no difference found among storage days. Ascorbic acid and carotenoid contents were decreased by irradiation treatment and increase of storage days. There were no changes in flavonoid contents; however, the content of polyphenols was increased by irradiation of sample.

  • The antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of pork patties supplemented with medicinal herb extract mix were investigated. The medicinal herb extract powder was mixed at a ratio of 48.5:48.5:3.0 for Morus alba L, Lonicera flos, and Coptis chinensis, respectively. The pork was prepared and supplemented with medicinal herb extract mix (0, 0.5, 1, or 2%) and the antioxidant and antimicrobial activities were tested during storage at $4^{\circ}C$. The pH value decreased during cold storage at $4^{\circ}C$ for allsamples, however the pH of samples supplemented with herb extract mix rapidly decreased by days 5 and 10 ($p{\leq}0.05$). The total phenol content in the pork patties with herb extract mix was higher than in the control patties. The ABTS+ radical scavenging activities increased with increasing concentrations of herb extract mix from 0.5% to 2%. In addition, pork patties supplemented with herb extract mix showed an approximately 1 decimal reduction in total aerobic counts. Therefore, the addition of herb extract mix into pork patties increased the antioxidant activity and slightly improved the antimicrobial activity of pork patties during cold storage. However, the levels of added medicinal herb extract mix should be considered prior to its use in order to maintain proper sensory acceptance.
