The EDR(Event Data Recorder) is a part of the ACU(Airbag Control Unit) functions mounted on a vehicle. EDR data have pre-crash data and post-crash data. Pre-crash data are recorded within 5 sec from time zero(AE) with 0.5 sec resolution, and reveal vehicle speed, engine rotation speed, throttle opening, brake pedal operation, acceleration pedal position and steering angle, etc. Using this EDR data, the investigation of a traffic accident can become more objective and scientific. Crash tests of three vehicles equipped with EDR function had been performed successfully. Evaluation of EDR data reliability had also been performed using Vbox and PC-Crash's sequence table function. Based on the results, we could confirm EDR data's reliability and availability for Traffic Accident Analysis by the series of this process.

This paper investigates the design of disturbance observer for rotational vibration suppression in disk drive systems. The design aims to provide an optimal controller which satisfies both vibration performance and robust stability. It consists of an inversion method, a special filter, and optimization scheme. Firstly a new inversion method is introduced, which provides more accurate inversion compared to conventional zero phase error method. The inversion is to deal with unstable zeros in the plant model. Secondly a special filter for disturbance selection is given, which features adjustable gain and band pass characteristics so that it enables flexible shaping of the loop considering the trade-off between performance and stability margins. And finally the parameters of disturbance observer are optimized in conjunction with external disturbance model. Simulation and experiment on commercial hard disk drives confirm that the design is very effective to such disturbance which is hard to be handled by conventional approach.

In this paper, two receive diversity combining techniques are proposed for single-carrier Sequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA)-based cooperative relay systems when DFT spreading sizes for mobile station (MS) and relay station (RS) are different. A simplified-MRC (5-MRC) technique performs diversity combining in the time domain using the estimated channel weight and initial values obtained by SC-FDMA signal detection. An interference rejection-MRC (IR-MRC) technique performs diversity combining in the frequency domain by adjusting DFT spreading size in the receiver. It is shown by computer simulation that the proposed receive diversity combining techniques achieve a significant performance gain over the conventional MRC technique with zero forcing (ZF) detector.

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems utilizing direct conversion receiver suffer from frequency selective (FS) and frequency independent (FI) phase and gain imbalances caused by imperfect local oscillator and low pass filter. In this paper, we analyze the impacts of the transmit/receive IQ imbalances on the system and propose the estimation and compensation schemes for those imbalances. The preamble signals coded by Alamouti scheme in the frequency domain could be used in the estimation of relatively large IQ imbalances with FS and FI characteristics and the estimation results are used for the compensation of distortions caused by the FI and FS IQ imbalances. The optimal maximum likelihood (ML) receiver or suboptimal ordered successive interference cancallation (OSIC) receiver utilizing the estimation results show symbol error rate (SER) performance improvement compared to zero-forcing (ZF) technique due to diversity gain inherent in the frequency domain IQ imbalances combined with the frequency selective channels.

Estimating ship motion is difficult because it take place in complex environments.. Estimating ship motion is an important factor in ensuring the safety of ship, so accurate estimates are needed. Existing motion-related studies compare the apparent motion of the model acquired and the reference model by experimenting with the ship motion on a particular alignment, making it difficult to intuitively estimate the hull motion. This study introduces the concept of estimating the characteristics of ship motion as a transfer function through pole-zero interpretation and frequency response analysis by applying the method of transfer function of Linear-Time Invariant system. Ship motion analysis model using Linear-Time Invariant system is consist with 1) wave as input signal 2) ship motion as output signal 3) hull defined as black box. This model can be defined by numericalizing the ship motion as a transfer function and is expected to facilitate the characterization of the ship motion through pole-zero analysis and frequency response analysis.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of irrigation method adopted for reducing nutrient solution drainage on the root zone environment, growth and yield of a tomato crop grown in a rockwool medium. The irrigation control methods used were large quantity irrigation at a long interval controlled by only an integrated solar radiation sensor (standard), medium quantity irrigation at a medium interval (zero drainage 1), and small quantity irrigation at a short interval (zero drainage 2) controlled by both an integrated solar radiation sensor and a zero drainage sensor. The amount of the nutrient solution supplied and the drain percentage per plant of the standard, zero drainage 1, and zero drainage 2 were 1.4, 0.9 and 0.8 L, and 23.8, 8.6 and 3.7%, respectively. The average, minimum, and maximum water contents and EC of the standard, zero drainage 1, and zero drainage 2 were 64.5~88% and $1.5{\sim}3.5dS{\cdot}m^{-2}$, 40.3~76.0% and $2.5{\sim}4.0dS{\cdot}m^{-2}$, and 56.3~69.0% and $2.7{\sim}3.7dS{\cdot}m^{-2}$, respectively. There was no difference in leaf width, number of leaves, and stem diameter among the treatments. However, plant height and leaf length decreased in the zero drainage 1 and 2 treatments as compared to the standard. The fruit marketable yield per 10a in the zero drainage 1 and 2 treatments was about 93 and 88%, respectively, of that in the standard treatment.

We consider a time-division multiple-access relay channel (MARC), in which two source nodes (SNs) transmit data with different data rate to a destination node (DN) with the help of a relay node (RN) using network coding (NC). However, due to its asymmetric data rate, the RN cannot combine the received bits by XOR NC. In this paper, we compare with the problem of asymmetric data rates by using zero padding and hierarchical 16QAM.
The aim of this study is to understand the limitation of organic pollutant indexes ($BOD_5$, $COD_{Mn}$, $COD_{Cr}$) and estimate to set the TOC standard by comparing oxidation rates of $BOD_5$, $COD_{Mn}$, $COD_{Cr}$ and TOC based on the 487 organic compounds and 11 effluents from industrial wastewater containing various and unknown organic compounds. The range of ratio of theoretical oxygen demand (ThOD) to theoretical organic carbon (TOCt) was 0.00~5.33 and average ratio of classes of organic compounds was 2.68~3.70. According to classes of organic compounds, the average ratio of $O_2/C$ was 1.2 (range : 1.02~1.39). The order of oxidation rate for 15 organic compounds was TOC (90.7%) > $COD_{Cr}$ (88.8%) > $BOD_5$ (54.4%) > $COD_{Mn}$ (30.8%) indicating the lower oxidation rate of $BOD_5$ and COD compared with TOC. The ranking for average oxidation rate was $COD_{Cr}$ > $COD_{Mn}$ > $BOD_5$ indicating that $BOD_5$, $COD_{Mn}$ could be underestimated comparing with ThOD of organic compounds in case of industrial wastewater containing high concentration of refractory organic compounds. Most of the relationships between organic pollutant indexes and TOC were higher than 0.9. The ratio of TOC to organic compound indexes decreased in the order : $COD_{Cr}$ (3.4) > $COD_{Mn}$ > (1.9) > $BOD_5$ (0.7).

Recently, This paper suggests that LED-ID technique applying positioning method for LED light. also, Authors in this paper has launched this investigation earnestly. However, there are various interferences such as MPI(Multi Path Interference) by reflected waves of the surface and interfere factors by their correlation properties of the ID in LED-ID wireless channel. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a novel OOK(On-Off Keying)-CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) system using unipolar ZCD(Zero Correlation Duration) spreading code and verify the availability of the proposed system via the evaluation performance simulation.

In this paper, a new interference-free Home CDMA-PLC(Code Division Multiple Access-Power Line Communication) system based on the binary ZCD(Zero Correlation Duration) spreading code is proposed as a key solution to overcome the previous problems. Binary ZCD spreading code sets with enlarged family sizes are generated by carrying out a chip-shift operation of the preferred pairs. The properties or the proposed ZCD-PLC systems are effective for MPI(Multi-Path Interference) and MAI (Multiple Access Interference) cancellation in the CDMA-PLC systems. By BER performance simulation, we certified the availability of proposed ZCD-CDMA-PLC system.
