An intelligent software system which can support efficiently and systematically machine tool design by utilizing deign knowledge is described in this paper. The process of embodiment design of a machining center was modelled represented by IDEF0 and embedded in the system. A hybrid type inference engine has been introduced so that the system can effec-tively deal with knowledge represented in diversified forms The design system was developed on the basis of object-ori-ented programming and has been coded into one software system which can be ported on Windows NT.

With the rotating machinery getting more accurate and diversified, the necessity fur an appropriate diagnosis technique and maintenance system has been greatly recognized. However, until now, the operator has executed a monitoring of the machine by the senses or simple the change of RMS (root mean Square) value. So, the diagnostic expert system using the fuzzy inference which the operator can judge easily and expertly a condition of the machine is developed through this study. In this paper, the hardware and software of the diagnostic expert system was composed and the identification of the diagnostic performance of the developed system for 5 fault phenomena was carried out.

Objective : The purpose of this paper is to report the effect of three different herb medication based on Shanghanlun(傷寒論) six differential diagnostic system. Methods : According to six differential diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, they were diagnosed with Taiyang-byung(大陽病), Yangmyung-byung(陽明病), Gwoleum-byung(厥陰病). They took different herb medications more than 6weeks according to their diagnosis. This paper evaluated the results of treatment by pregnancy test result with improvement of symptoms. Results : The symptoms of three patients were improved and became pregnant. Conclusions : This case study suggests that herb medication based on Shanghanlun(傷寒論) six differential diagnostic system have effectiveness on unexplained infertility. And we need to have a diversified and new perspectives in women's position about pregnancy with this system.

As a result of the recent development of the electro-information industry, the hardware of an automated ultrasonic testing system is getting lighter and diversified image processing techniques are applied to its software so that the possible precise totaling and detecting of the flaws are studied. This study proposes an automated ultrasonic testing system of the pipe in order to organize the optimized system, and also describes the data flow and general composition of the software for the design of the system.

A project has been initiated at KISTI Supercomputing Center at year 1999 to build a Tflops cluster in order to support newly emerging demands for larger scale parallel computing resources. As a supportive substitute of traditional supercompters, the cluster systems are expected to play important role in supporting diversified computational needs. In this paper, KISTI Supercomputing Center's working status of building Tflops cluster system and future plans.

This paper proposes a value-based pricing suitable for deregulation situation in electricity market, where the value is measured based on the service quality such as system reliability. The proposed approach makes it possible to maximize social welfare, in that diversified service can produce the optimal combination set of demand and supply. The proposed pricing can also be applied to a direct load control.

In case of domestic automobile manufacturers introducing and running a make-to-order production system, JIT system is to provide a necessary number of components at a right place in time which is a specific supply chain management, is different from other occupations. This study is for establishing a efficient production planning and finding a management method to correspond with a manufacturing system and diversified supply chain management and building an information system to support it. For this, we analyze the relevant business process and utilize various informations occur in supply chain of domestic automobile components manufacturer. It will contribute to not only reliability improvement of production management system but also satisfaction for due date of products.
