  • This paper presents a method to calculate the area of vulnerability by using the impedance building algorithm. The installation of DG (Distributed Generation) is one of the countermeasures against voltage sags in power systems. In order to estimate the effect of the DG, the voltage sag assessment should be performed based on the area of vulnerability and system fault statistics. To determine the area of vulnerability, system impedance matrix should be calculated. The calculation of the impedance matrix of large systems is time-consuming task. This paper addresses an effective scheme to calculate the area of vulnerability and system impedance matrix.

Phasor Discrete Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm to Configure Micro-grids

  • The present study presents the Phasor Discrete Particle Swarm Optimization (PDPSO) algorithm, an effective optimization technique, the multi-dimensional vectors of which consist of magnitudes and phase angles. PDPSO is employed in the configuration of micro-grids. Micro-grids are concepts of distribution system that directly unifies customers and distributed generations (DGs). Micro-grids could supply electric power to customers and conduct power transaction via a power market by operating economic dispatch of diverse cost functions through several DGs. If a large number of micro-grids exist in one distribution system, the algorithm needs to adjust the configuration of numerous micro-grids in order to supply electric power with minimum generation cost for all customers under the distribution system.

  • 신재생 에너지 자원의 하나로 각광받고 있는 태양광발전시스템은 분산형 발전시스템으로서 설치 이후의 효율적인 시스템 관리와 운영이 중요한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 방법 중 하나는 원격 모니터링 및 제어 시스템을 적용하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 태양광 발전 시스템의 효율적인 관리와 운용을 위한 LabVIEW 기반의 모니터링 및 제어시스템을 제안한다. 모니터링부와 태양광 인버터의 DSP(Digital Signal Processor) 제어기간의 인터페이스에 대하여 자세히 설명하고, 계통연계형 태양광발전시스템에 적용하여 제안된 시스템의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • 전자현금은 기본적으로 은행의 서명문이다. 전자 현금 시스템에 분배 개념을 추가함으로써 전자현금의 안정성을 증가시킬 수 있고, 익명으로 발행된 전자 현금을 추적 할 수 있다. 매직 잉크 방식은 사용자에 익명으로 서명문을 발급할 수 있고 추후에 사용자가 불법적으로 전자 현금을 사용하는 경우 이를 추적 할 수 있는 서명 기법이다. 그러나 매직 잉크 서명 기법에도 믿음을 집중하는 문제가 제기되며, 이 경우 분배된 매직 잉크 서명기법(Distributed Mageic Ink Signature Scheme)이 사용되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 분배 개념을 적용한 DSS 매직 잉크 서명을 기술하고, 분배 개념을 적용한 KCDSA 매직 잉크 서명을 제안하고, DSS방식과 KCDSA 매직 잉크 서명 방식의 계산량을 서로 비교 분석하였다. Electronic cash is a digital signature issued by bank. If the concept of the distributed secret sharing and magic ink signature is introduced in the existing electronic cash system we can increase the security level and the availability of electronic cash system and trace the electronic cash itself and the owner of electronic cash which was issued anonymously to a user in case of illegal usage of electronic cash by users. If the trust is concentrated on one bank system. the problem of misuse of bank can be occurred. To solve this problem, the distributed secrete sharing scheme need to be introduced in electronic cash system. In this paper We propose a DSS(Digital Signature Standard) distributed magic ink signature scheme and a KCDSA(Korea Certificate-based Digital Signature Algorithm) distributed magic ink signature scheme using a verifiable secret sharing method. and we compare two methods with respect to the required computation amount for the generation of magic-ink signature.

  • The number of wind generation installations are growing substantially in Jeju, Korea. Many of these installations are significant in size and directly connected to the distribution system. In these distributed applications, it is not uncommon for the turbines to be connected near the end of a long rural distribution feeder from which end-users are served. Therefore, utility grid interconnection standards for interconnecting non-utility distributed generation systems are essential to both power system company and generation company. In this paper, it is investigated the power quality of Sungsan substation bus connected to Hangwon wind power generation farm.

Design and Implementation of Modified Current Source Based Hybrid DC - DC Converters for Electric Vehicle Applications

  • In this study, we present the modern hybrid system based power generation for electric vehicle applications. We describe the hybrid structure of modified current source based DC - DC converters used to extract the maximum power from Photovoltaic (PV) and Fuel Cell system. Due to reduced dc-link capacitor requirement and higher reliability, the current source inverters (CSI) better compared to the voltage source based inverter. The novel control strategy includes Distributed Maximum Power Point Tracking (DMPPT) for photovoltaic (PV) and fuel cell power generation system. The proposed DC - DC converters have been analyzed in both buck and boost mode of operation under duty cycle 0.5>d, 0.5<d<1 and 0.5<d for capable electric vehicle applications. The proposed topology benefits include one common DC-AC inverter that interposes the generated power to supply the charge for the sharing of load in a system of hybrid supply with photovoltaic panels and fuel cell PEM. An improved control of Direct Torque and Flux Control (DTFC) based induction motor fed by current source converters for electric vehicle.In order to achieve better performance in terms of speed, power and miles per gallon for the expert, to accepting high regenerative braking current as well as persistent high dynamics driving performance is required. A simulation model for the hybrid power generation system based electric vehicle has been developed by using MATLAB/Simulink. The Direct Torque and Flux Control (DTFC) is planned using Xilinx ISE software tool in addition to a Modelsim 6.3 software tool that is used for simulation purposes. The FPGA based pulse generation is used to control the induction motor for electric vehicle applications. FPGA has been implemented, in order to verify the minimal error between the simulation results of MATLAB/Simulink and experimental results.

분산전원의 배전계통 연계 시 발생하는 고조파에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Harmonics of Distribution Power System Interconnected with Distributed Generation)

  • 본 연구에서는 분산전원이 연계된 배전계통에서 발생하는 고조파를 평가하고자 PSCAD/EMTDC를 이용하여 분산전원 배전계통 연계 시의 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 실계통과 유사한 배전계통 및 태양광발전 시스템을 모델링하여 연계지점을 구간마다 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 고조파 연계기준(IEEE Std 1547과 IEEE Std 519)을 적용하여 알고리즘을 작성하고, 시뮬레이션 데이터는 FFT로 변환하여 THD와 TDD로 구분하여 평가하였다. 구간별로 구분하여 평가한 고조파 함유량은 분산전원을 연계하지 않은 상태와 각 구간과 Case 별로 구분하여 평가하여 연계하기 전과 비교하여 고조파를 파악한 결과 모든 배전계통의 구간에서 고조파 분포가 적합하다는 평가를 할 수 있었으며, 부하로 선정한 50kW 유도모터의 특성으로 인해 구간 2에서의 고조파 분포가 증가함으로서 연구 결과의 효용성을 입증할 수 있었다.

Analysis of the Operating Point and Fault Current Contribution of a PEMFC as Distributed Generation (DG)

  • Recently, hydrogen energy has been anticipated to change the paradigm of conventional power systems because it can expand sustainable energy utilization and conceptually provide remarkable flexibility to power system operation. Since hydrogen energy can be converted to electric energy through fuel cells, fuel cells are expected to play an important role in the future hydrogen economy. In this paper, a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) is modeled as an equivalent circuit and its steady-state characteristics investigated using the model. PEMFCs can be connected to power systems through power conditioning systems, which consist of power electronic circuits, and which are operated as distributed generators. This paper analyzes the effects of the characteristics of the PEMFC internal voltages and investigated the dynamic responses of the PEMFC under fault conditions. The results show that the fault current contribution of the PEMFC is different from those of conventional generators and is closely related to its operating point.

  • 오늘날 사람들의 많은 관심을 끌고 있는 생명 공학 분야에서, 가상 검색은 컴퓨터에서 가상적으로 시뮬레이션을 수행함으로서 특정 질병에 관여하는 물질을 널다 빠르게 추출하여 신약을 설계하는 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 지역적으로 분산된 유휴 또는 전략적 자원을 이용하여 가상 검색을 효과적으로 수행할 수 있는 분산 시스템인 DVSF(Distributed Virtual Screening Facilities)를 소개한다. DVSF는 중소규모의 실험실이 가지고 있는 유휴 자원을 이용하여 최소한의 비용으로 효과적인 신약 개발을 위한 환경을 구성할 수 있도록 개발되었다.

  • This paper suggests a multimedia educational system which has the ability to extract intelligent instruction on the distributed environment. The proposed system is designed for supporting individual instruction and real time user interaction. As the system based on CORBA, we put group managing module on it for multi user environment, so it has ability for distributed computing facilities. Using MHEG standard, we can provide multimedia courseware and real time user interaction. To diagnose students' responses and generate evaluations, we use several linguistic variables of fuzzy theory. There are two major advantages for using this system. This system can provide dynamic generation of problems and the ability to provide a dynamic instruction strategy. And it can increase reusability of courseware material for using standard of multimedia representation and communication. We use CORBA and MHEG to overcome the disadvantage of the Web, passive protocol and poor interactivity, HTTP.
