  • Background: This study was to investigate the relationship between scapular downward rotation ratio (SDRR), lower trapezius (LT) muscle, and rounded shoulder angle (RSA) on each side in subjects with scapular downward rotation syndrome (SDRS). Design: Cross-sectional Study Methods: Fifteen subjects have participated in this study. The RSA and SDRR were assessed using a tape measure in standing posture. The RSA was computed by the angle made by two lines: one was the distance between the root of the scapula and the acromion, and the other was the distance between the acromion and the horizontal line in the root of the scapula. The SDRR was computed by two horizontal lines: one was the distance between the mid-line and root of the scapula, and the other was the distance between the mid-line and inferior angle of the scapula. LT muscle strength was performed in a prone position by the hand-held dynamometer. Results: There was a positive correlation between SDRR and LT strength in the less affected sides (r=.59; p=.02), however, there was no correlation between RSA and LT strength in the more affected sides (p>.05).

  • To provide the information needed to make a decision, it is important to know the relationship or pattern between variables in database. Grouping objects which have similar characteristics of pattern is called as cluster analysis, one of data mining techniques. In this study, it is compared with several partitioning clustering algorithms, based on the statistical distance or total variance in each cluster.

  • The experimental study was carried out to investigate propagation distance of flood wave due to levee breach in a flat inundation area without obstacle. Hitter solution was considered to formulate the experimental results and a representative form was written referring to existing researches. As a result of experiments, it was found that the propagation velocity of the wave front in inundation area was significantly influenced by the initial water level in a channel, which was similar to flow in a channel due to dam break. An empirical formula was also suggested using the experimental results. The dimensionless propagation distance L can be written as the power function of dimensionless time T Coefficients k and m were varied with the dimensionless time T whereas k and m in Ritter solution were 2 and 0, respectively. The variation of coefficients in the relationship between L and T was influenced by the water depth in the inundation area and the fact proved that the changing points of L in the slope of relationship between L and T are the same to those of relationship between the dimensionless maximum water depth in the inundation area, $h_{max}$ and L.

  • Because individuals come together to form a society, society has characteristics that are different or similar. Furthermore, as globalization and language acquisition in other countries have been activated, the frequency of studying abroad has increased. While Korea also studies abroad, the number of students coming to Korea from other countries continues to increase, increasing. In particular, when there was interest in start-up businesses, the factors were discovered through exploratory research in order to identify factors affecting the level of growth in start-ups when they had different nationalities. In order to conduct exploratory research, the government wanted to check more in-depth information through semi-structured interviews with co-founder companies composed of Koreans and Chinese. The main keywords were repeated or emphasized continuously during the interview, and other keywords were obtained through additional questions. As a result, it has been confirmed that self-acceptance, cultural distance, entrepreneurship, knowledge quality and growth are very large keywords in the co-founding start-up of different countries. The proposition was established as having a relationship of justice with self-acceptance, cultural distance and entrepreneurship as independent variables and with the degree of growth as dependent variables. In particular, in the case of co-founding with different nationalities, the most important knowledge quality was represented the effect of reverse U in each relationship (the relationship between self-acceptance, cultural distance, entrepreneurship and growth).

  • Lateral cephalometric X-ray films in maximal intercuspation and maximal opening of 68 children were taken and analyzed to examine the pattern of condylar movement and to study the relationship between opening movement and morphologic factors of craniofacial skeleton. The results were as follows : 1. The mean value of maximal opening capacity was 47.1mm, condylar moving distance was 18.1mm, horizontal condyle movement was 17.5mm, vertical condyle movement was 3.8mm and condylar moving angle was $13.1^{\circ}$. 2. The maximal opening capacity had positive relationship with the length of anterior cranial base, mandible and maxillary complex and with posterior facial height and had negative relationship with articular angle, sagittal jaw relationship. 3. Vertical condyle movement and condylar moving angle had positive relationship with articular angle and had negative relationship with gonial angle. 4. Horizontal condyle movement and condylar moving distance had positive relationship with the length of maxillary complex.

  • The relationship between chemical structure and antifungal activity of benzene ring substituents of 3-phenyl-5,5-dimethyloxazolidine-2,4-diones is studied by testing of model compounds and use of conformational data. The analysis revealed a number of structural features as essential for the antifungal effect: (1) the presence of an intact -NCO group and benzene moiety; (2) the distance between para substituents and the N atom within the 5.32∼5.37${\AA}$ range; (3) the distance between substituents X3 and X4, in the interval 5.59 ∼ 5.77 ${\AA}$ for the active analogues.

  • In the present study, genetic analyses of diversity and differentiation were performed on four breeds of Indian zebu cattle (Bos indicus). In total, 181 animals belonging to Ponwar, Kherigarh, Gangatiri and Kenkatha breeds were genotyped for 20 cattle specific microsatellite markers. Mean number of alleles observed per locus (MNA) varied between 5.75 (Kenkatha) to 6.05 (Kherigarh). The observed and expected heterozygosity for the breeds varied from 0.48 (Gangatiri) to 0.58 (Kherigarh) and 0.65 (Kenkatha) to 0.70 (Kherigarh), respectively. $F_{IS}$ estimates of all the breeds indicated significant deficit of heterozygotes being 28.8%, 25.9%, 17.7% and 17.7% for Gangatiri, Ponwar, Kherigarh and Kenkatha, respectively. The $F_{ST}$ estimates demonstrated that 10.6% was the average genetic differentiation among the breeds. Nei's genetic distance DA and Cavalli- Sforza and Edwards Chord distance ($D_C$) and the phylogenetic tree constructed from these reflected the close genetic relationship of Gangatiri and Kenkatha, whereas Ponwar appears to be more distant.
