Depending on applications where transmission bandwidth, wire distance, power consumption and EMI environments vary, design trade-offs must be made to optimize the display interface. After introducing the digital display interface architecture, topics such as cost, EMI, signal integrity, scalability and content protection are discussed with available techniques. Implementation issues are discussed regarding their cost and design complexity. Existing standards are reviewed and comparison on their strengths and shortcomings are discussed.

Objective: The aim of this study is developing the navigation radar display of navy ship with ecological interface design (EID) framework. Background: Navy ship radar operator must perform navigation support tasks by monitoring the complex and diverse information presented on the radar display. Current radar display is limited in effective navigation aid and response to an unusual state immediately. It is necessary to develop an effective radar display. Method: Ten navy radar operators performed a series of trials in a low-fidelity radar simulation in which they attempted to solve the problems of current navigation situation. Results: The result demonstrated that the ecological interface's performance was better than the existing radar display on performance time and subjective mental workload. Conclusion: This study expand EID study field to navy ship radar display and confirm ecological display is better than existing radar display in performance time, subjective mental work load. Application: The result of this study may help to improve navy ship navigation radar display currently in use.

For system-on-glass (SoG) with low-temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) thin film transistor (TFT), a new system interface architecture and timing controller are developed. With the newly developed system interface architecture, line memory can be eliminated which would take large area of SoG display panel. The system interface and timing controller are targeted for the application for 6-bit gray scale, 60-frames/s qVGA format.

새롭게 등장하는 플렉서블 디스플레이 인터페이스에서는 곡면표현이 가능하고 구부리거나 말거나 접는 등 디스플레이의 변형이 일어나는 특성을 바탕으로 새로운 사용행태를 야기할 수 있다는 점에서, 기존의 딱딱한 평면 디스플레이가 제공하지 못했던 새로운 경험을 줄 수 있을 것으로 논의되고 있다. 그러나 현재 플렉서블 디스플레이 분야에서 사용자경험의 총체적인 속성을 밝히는 연구를 찾기 어려움에 따라, 본 연구에서는 플렉서블 디스플레이 인터페이스에서 사용자가 기대하는 경험이 무엇인지 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 먼저 기존의 디지털 미디어 인터페이스에서의 사용자경험에 대한 문헌과 플렉서블 디스플레이 인터페이스에서의 사용자경험에 대한 문헌을 조사하고, 현재 사용자의 인식을 반영하기 위한 인터뷰를 진행하여 사용자경험을 나타내는 52개 항목을 수집하였다. 이 항목들은 사용자 기대경험 차원 도출을 위한 측정 문항으로 사용되었으며, 308명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 조사 결과, 플렉서블 디스플레이 인터페이스에서 기대되는 사용자경험은 기능성, 이해성, 유희성, 편의성, 친숙성, 자극성, 적응성, 공동성, 실제성, 심미성의 10가지 차원으로 나타났다.

Current subway station's office employee must perform safety management tasks by monitoring the various safety management systems. But these monitoring systems are limited in effective situational awareness and response to a state of emergency immediately. It is necessary to develop an integrated safety management system display. In this study, we developed subway station safety management system's (CCTV, fire detection & alarm system, screen door control equipment) integrated prototype display with ecological interface design framework and evaluated prototype display interface's usability with GOMS model. The result was that the ecological interface's performance was better than existing safety management system's interface.

테이블탑 디스플레이는 대형 화면에 손동작을 통하여 입출력이 이루어지므로 사용자와 시스템 간의 직관적인 상호작용이 가능하다. 일반적으로 에듀테인먼트 콘텐츠는 사용이 편한 직관적 상호작용을 필요로 하기 때문에 테이블탑 디스플레이는 에듀테인먼트 콘텐츠 구현에 매우 적합하다. 본 논문은 이러한 테이블 탑 디스플레이 인터페이스를 활용한 전통요리 에듀테인먼트 콘텐츠 제작 기술에 대해 설명한다. 이 기술은 요리에 필요한 손동작을 테이블탑 디스플레이에 터치 제스처 형식으로 직접 가할 수 있어 기존의 에듀테인먼트 콘텐츠의 한계를 벗어나 몰입강화와 협동 작업에 의한 향상된 교육효과를 얻을 수 있다. 제안한 기술을 콘텐츠로 구현하여 그 효과를 확인하였고 향후 다양한 제스처와 상호작용을 추가하여 그 유용성을 향상 할 계획이다.

This paper presents a link layer design of DisplayPort interface with a state machine based on packet processing. The DisplayPort link layer provides isochronous video/audio transport service, link service, and device service. The merged video, audio main link, and AUX channel controller are implemented with 7,648 LUTs(Loop Up Tables), 6020 register, and 821,760 of block memory bits synthesized using a FPGA board and it operates at 203.32MHz.

본 논문은 MDDI(Mobile Display Digital Interface) 표준을 이용하여 휴대용 디지털 미디어 기기에서 사용 가능한 영상 데이터 전송 시스템을 구현하였다. 설계된 영상 데이터 전송 시스템은 QVGA급 영상을 전송하기 위해 필요한 연결선 수 6개를 사용한다. 본 논문에서는, MDDI의 영상관련 9개의 패킷을 사용하였고, 패킷프로세서는 유한상태머신 기반의 설계로 이루어졌다. Xilinx 사의 FPGA virtex4-LX60을 이용하여 제작 및 검증을 수행하였다. 설계된 영상 데이터 전송 시스템은 6개의 연결선 수로 363Mbps 데이터 전송 대역폭을 갖는다. 이는 24비트 RGB 50만 화소의 영상 데이터를 초당 30 프레임까지 전송할 수 있는 성능이다.

We may need to consider 'display' interface and product design as distinct from traditional user- and technologydriven product design. Technology-dominated product development may lead users to demand another 'technological improvement' rather than 'design improvement.' This cycle of product development may cause both users and producers to disregard the potential of 'display' technology and interface. We must develop a better understanding of significant and unique 'display' potential in comparison with 'real' world communications and current sociological and technological contexts.
