The objective of present paper is assessment of dynamic buckling behavior of an embedded sandwich microplates in thermal environment in which the layers are reinforced through functionally graded carbon nanotubes (FG-CNTs). Therefore, mixture rule is taken into consideration for obtaining effective material characteristics. In order to model this structure much more realistic, Kelvin-Voigt model is presumed and the sandwich structure is rested on visco-Pasternak medium. Exponential shear deformation theory (ESDT) in addition to Eringen's nonlocal theory are utilized to obtain motion equations. Further, differential cubature method (DCM) as well as Bolotin's procedure are used to solve governing equations and achieve dynamic instability region (DIR) related to sandwich structure. Different parameters focusing on volume percent of CNTs, dispersion kinds of CNTs, thermal environment, small scale effect and structural damping and their influences upon the dynamic behavior of sandwich structure are investigated. So as to indicate the accuracy of applied theories as well as methods, the results are collated with another paper. According to results, presence of CNTs and their dispersion kind can alter system's dynamic response as well.
We propose a simple model to elucidate the dispersion behavior of spiraling modes on silver nanowire by finding correspondence parameters and building a simple equivalent relationship with the planar insulator-metal-insulator geometry. The characteristics approximated for the proposed structure are compared with the results from an exact solution obtained by solving Maxwell's equation in cylindrical coordinates. The effective refractive index for our proposed equivalent model is in good agreement with that for the exact solution in the 400-2000 nm wavelength range. In particular, when the radius of the silver nanowire is 100 nm, the calculated index shows typical improvements; the average percentage error for the real part of the effective refractive index is reduced to only 5% for the $0^{th}$ order mode (11.9% in previous results) and 1.5% for the $1^{st}$ order mode (24.8% in previous results) in the 400-800 nm wavelength range. This equivalent model approach is expected to provide further insight into understanding the important behavior of nanowire waveguides.
An analytical investigation has been performed on the mechanical performance of waves propagated in a Single-Layered Graphene Sheet (SLGS) when an In-plane Varying Bending (IVB) load is interacted. It has been supposed that the Graphene Sheet (GS) is located on an elastic medium. Employing a two-parameter elastic foundation, the effects of elastic substrate on the GS behavior are modeled. Besides, the kinematic equations are derived by the means of a trigonometric two-variable refined plate theory. Moreover, in order to indicate the size-dependency of the SLGS, a Nonlocal Strain Gradient Theory (NSGT) was considered. The nonlocal governing differential equations are achieved in the framework of Hamilton's Principle (HP). Also, an analytical approach was used to detect the unknowns of the final eigenvalue equation. Finally, the effects of each parameters using some dispersion charts were determined.

Pulse electroplating of Ni-P alloy was studied to fulfill the material requirement to the advanced vertical probe tip in wafer probe card. The major concerns are for the electrical conductivity and yield strength. Plating parameters such as current density, duty cycle and solution components were examined to obtain the nanocrystal structure and proper percentage of phosphorus, leading to how to control the nanocrystal grain growth and precipitation of $Ni_3P$ after heat treatment. Among the parameters, the amount of phosphorus acid was the main factor affecting on the grain size and sheet resistance, and the amount of 0.1 gram was appropriate. Since hardness in Ni-P alloy is increased by as-plated nanocrystal structure plus precipitation of $Ni_3P$, the concentration of P less than 15 at% was better choice for the grain coarsening without minus in hardness value. The following heat treatment made grain growth and dispersion of precipitates adjustable to meet the target limit of resistance of $100m{\Omega}$ and hardness number of over 1000Hv. The Ni-P alloy will be a candidate for the substitute of the conventional probe tip material.
The intent of this paper is to investigate the propagation of Love waves in a dry sandy medium sandwiched between fiber-reinforced layer and prestressed porous half-space. Separate displacement components have been deduced in order to characterize the dynamics of individual materials. Using suitable boundary conditions, the frequency equation has been derived by means of separation of variables which reveals the significant role of reinforcement parameters, sandiness, thickness of layers, porosity and prestress on the wave propagation. The phase velocity of the Love wave has been discussed in accordance with its typical cases. In both cases when fiber-reinforced and dry sandy media are absent, the derived equation of Love type wave coincides with the classical Love wave equation. Numerical computations have been performed in order to graphically illustrate the dependencies of different parameters on phase velocity of Love waves. It is observed that the phase velocity decreases with the increase of parameters pertaining to reinforcement and prestress. The results have certain potential applications in earthquake seismology and civil engineering.
Predictions of diesel particulate filtration are typically made by modeling of a particle collection, and providing particle trapping levels in terms of a pressure drop. In the present study, a series of single channel diesel particulate filter (DPF) experiments are conducted, the pressure traces are inversely analyzed and essential filtration parameters are deducted for model closure. A DPF filtration model is formulated with a non-linear description of soot cake regression. Dependence of soot cake porosity, packing density, permeability, and soot density in filter walls on convective-diffusive particle transportation is examined. Sensitivity analysis was conducted on model parameters, relevant to the mode of transition. Soot cake porosity and soot packing density show low degrees of dispersion with respect to the Peclet number and have asymptotes at 0.97 and $70\;kg/m^3$, respectively, at high Peclet number. Soot density in the filter wall, which is inversely proportional to filter wall Peclet number, controls the filtration mode transition but exerts no influence on termination pressure drop. The percolation constant greatly alters the extent of pressure drop, but is insensitive to volumetric flow rate or temperature of exhaust gas at fixed operation mode.
This work deals with the size-dependent wave propagation analysis of functionally graded (FG) anisotropic nanoplates based on a nonlocal strain gradient refined plate model. The present model incorporates two scale coefficients to examine wave dispersion relations more accurately. Material properties of FG anisotropic nanoplates are exponentially varying in the z-direction. In order to solve the governing equations for bulk waves, an analytical method is performed and wave frequencies and phase velocities are obtained as a function of wave number. The influences of several important parameters such as material graduation exponent, geometry, Winkler-Pasternak foundation parameters and wave number on the wave propagation of FG anisotropic nanoplates resting on the elastic foundation are investigated and discussed in detail. It is concluded that these parameters play significant roles on the wave propagation behavior of the nanoplates. From the best knowledge of authors, it is the first time that FG nanoplate made of anisotropic materials is investigated, so, presented numerical results can serve as benchmarks for future analysis of such structures.
During their respective missions, the spacecraft Voyager and Cassini measured several Saturn magnetosphere parameters at different radial distances. As a result of information gathered throughout the journey, Voyager 1 discovered hot and cold electron distribution components, number density, and energy in the 6-18 Rs range. Observations made by Voyager of intensity fluctuations in the 20-30 keV range show electrons are situated in the resonance spectrum's high energy tail. Plasma waves in the magnetosphere can be used to locate Saturn's inner magnetosphere's plasma clusters, which are controlled by Saturn's spin. Electromagnetic electron cyclotron (EMEC) wave ring distribution function has been investigated. Kinetic and linear approaches have been used to study electromagnetic cyclotron (EMEC) wave propagation. EMEC waves' stability can be assessed by analyzing the dispersion relation's effect on the ring distribution function. The primary goal of this study is to determine the impact of the magnetosphere parameters which is observed by Cassini. The magnetosphere of Saturn has also been observed. When the plasma parameters are increased as the distribution index, the growth/damping rate increases until the magnetic field model affects the magnetic field at equator, as can be seen in the graphs. We discuss the outputs of our model in the context of measurements made in situ by the Cassini spacecraft.
Dispersion pattern for adult citrus red mite (CRM), Panonychus citri (McGregor) using by Taylor's power law (TPL) and Iwao's patchiness regression (IPR) was determined to develop a monitoring method on citrus orchards, on Jeju, in Autumn season, during 2001 and 2002.CRM population was sampled by collecting leaves and fruits. The relationships of CRM adults between leaf and fruit were analyzed by different season. The regression equation for CRM adults between leaf (X) and fruit (Y) was ln(Y+1) : 1.029 ln(X+1) ( $r^2$ : 0.80). The density of CRM was higher on fruit than on leaf according to fruit maturing level. TPL provided better description of mean-variance relation-ship for the dispersion indices compared to IPR. Slopes and intercepts of TPL from leaf and fruit samples did not differ between sample units and surveyed years. Fixed-precision levels (D) of a sequential sampling plan were developed using Taylor's power law parameters generated from adults of CRM in leaf sample. Sequential sampling plans for adults of CRM were developed for decision making CRM population level based on the different action threshold levels (2.0,2.5 and 3.0 mites per leaf) with 0.25 precision. The maximum number of trees and required number of trees sampled on fixed sample size plan on 2.0,2.5 and 3.0 thresholds with 0.25 precision level were 19, 16 and 15 and their critical values T$_{critical}$ at were 554,609 and 659, respectively. were 554,609 and 659, respectively.
Validation study of two radionuclide migration models for single fracture developed in geologic medium the hydrodynamic dispersion diffusion model(HDDM) and the channeling dispersion diffusion model(CDDM), was studied by migration experiment of tracers through an artificial granite fracture on the labolatory scale. The tracers used were Uranine and Sodium lignosulfonate know as nonsorbing material. The flow rate ranged 0.4 to 1.5 cc/min. Related parameters for the models were estimated by optimization technique. Theoretical breakthrough curves with experimental data were compared. In the experiment, it was deduced that the surface sorption for both tracers did not play an important role while the diffusion of Uranine into the rock matrix turned out to be an important mass transfer mechanism. The parameter characterizing the rock matrix diffusion of each model agreed well The simulated result showed that the amount of flow rate could not tell the CDDM from the HDDM quantitatively. On the other hand, the variation of fracture length gave influence on the two models in a different degree. The dispersivity of breakthrough curve of the CDDM was more amplified than that of the CDDM when the fracture length was increased. A good agreement between the models and experimental data gave a confirmation that both models were very useful in predicting the migration system through a single fracture.
