Currently, reconstruction and remodeling are conducted to improve the performance of aged housing. Recently reconstruction has caused many problems such as wastes generation, wasting resources and real estate speculation, remodeling is drawing attention. Accordingly, remodeling business for aged housings gradually increasing, but the use of scheduling method not considering characteristics of remodeling deters construction in some construction types. Especially, in case of dismantling construction, the dismantling is delayed since the scheduling method not considering characteristics of remodeling is used. In case of remodeling, dismantling construction is ahead of other processes, if the dismantling construction is delayed, whole construction will be delayed and if speedy construction is conducted, the costs for remodeling will increase. Furthermore, existing remodeling for aged housing has been for rahmen(crossbeam and pillar) structure apartments, but since most apartments to be remodeled are wall-slab structure where dismantling takes a lot of weight, it is highly possible the dismantling construction is delayed. Thus, this paper is to establish scheduling method for the dismantling construction reflecting characteristic of remodeling to prevent delay of dismantling construction for remodeling of aged housing with wall-slab structure.

A design of a dismantling mock-up system have been established based on the result that analyzed a characteristic of modules which need to design a virtual dismantling facility. A unit program composed of a various module such as a decommissioning database system. 3D dosimetric mapping that represents a distribution of a radionuclide contamination, a evaluation module for a dismantling schedule and cost A research of software architecture was carried out in order to Integrate these components that have been independently operated. The result was established an architecture that consis of a visualization module which could be visualized D&D activities and a simulation module which tan he evaluated a dismantling schedule and decommissioning cost.
Many nuclear power plants in Japan are approaching the end of their planned operational life spans. They must be decommissioned safely in the near future. Using augmented reality (AR), workers can intuitively understand information related to decommissioning work. Three-dimensional (work-site) reconstruction models of dismantling fields are useful for workers to observe the conditions of dismantling field situations without visiting the actual fields. This study, based on AR and work-site reconstruction models, developed and evaluated an information reference system. The evaluation consists of questionnaires and interview surveys administered to six nuclear power plant workers who used this system, along with a scenario. Results highlight the possibility of reducing time and mitigating mistakes in dismantling fields. Results also show the ease of referring to information in dismantling fields. Nevertheless, it is apparently difficult for workers to build reconstruction models of dismantling fields independently.
It is necessary for lower grade students to study the correct usage of tools as a base of the technical education for dismantling and assembling various machines. However, enough understanding has not been obtained though the usage of these tools when training first grade students. So, we started to develop a teaching text and materials within the students' practice curriculum based on the dismantling and assembly of all-terrain vehicle [ATV]'s, which is a very motivating for lower grade students. This practice makes the student learn both how to use the tools and the steering mechanism of cars through the dismantling and assembling of the ATV. It is possible to not only have the student learn about the knowledge obtained through the practice, but also they also acquire wider and deeper knowledge through making the text and teaching materials for the practice. The textbook and secondary educational materials of this practice curriculum were created in cooperation with a fifth grade student as part of their graduation research. As a result, an effective teaching and learning text and secondary educational material regarding manufacturing practice could be developed from the student's point of view. Making a teaching text and materials is effective for promoting the study and experience of engineering.
We confirmed that the dismantling of two research reactors with thermal power of $2MW_{th}$ and $100kW_{th}$, respectively, reveals no significant difference between the radiation levels of the research reactor site and the surrounding environment far away from it, from the radiation level aspect. Radiation dose and radioactivity were measured at monitoring points around the research reactor site of the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) in Seoul and comparison points 0.5 km to 3.3 km from the site. To grasp trends in the radiation levels during dismantling from the end of 2002 to the end of 2007, the gamma radiation dose rate, the accumulated dose, and the radioactivity of the strontium, tritium, and gamma isotopes were statistically treated and estimated. The averages of these items between the two groups, the research reactor site and comparison points, were assessed by applying a T-test with a significance level of 0.05. P-values found by using the T-test were from 0.12 to 0.83 where the values were much higher than the significance level. As a result, no difference was observed between the radiation levels at the research reactor site and at the comparison points by this T-test. This study showed that dismantling activity of the Korea Research Reactor of the Seoul site did not expose the public or the environment to harmful levels of radiation.
Investigation of the cause of the relatively recent building collapse accident in Gwangju revealed a lack of awareness about the safety of the dismantling construction system among stakeholders, in the form of issues such as illegal subcontracting, unauthorized design changes, and insufficient safety supervision. This study was conducted to analyze the safety interactions between the building dismantling construction system and the involved stakeholders and to propose ways to prevent accidents in related institutions and workplaces. AcciMap and STAMP-CAST analysis methods were used to evaluate safety interactions among the various stakeholders participating in building demolition work. Analysis results revealed that the collapse accident during the dismantling work was caused not only by structural causes occurring in the construction stage, but also by various causes throughout the system, such as the dismantling plan preparation stage and the construction permit stage. The results also revealed the need for proper implementation of safety control measures by various stakeholders to prevent collapse accidents during dismantling construction.

Asbestos is a durable and heat-resistant building material used in various building materials such as slate, ceiling tex, and spray paint. It has been banned since 2009 after found to be a first-class carcinogen that causes various cancers and asbestos lung disease. Since workers are likely to be exposed to asbestos in the process of dismantling and removal of asbestos-made building materials and facilities, laws and work standards are proposed by the Ministry of Employment and Labor to ensure the safety of asbestos dismantling work. In addition, prior studies on exposure levels and analysis methods have been conducted in this regard mainly for residents. However, the relation between the results of the risk assessment of the process conducted during the asbestos investigation and the work is still ambiguous for the safety of workers. Therefore, this study proposes a process model development methodology that considers work risk based on the results of a survey from asbestos dismantling companies.

Since the dismantling processes of building are very dangerous, there have been many studies to develop a remote operating devices using joystick. In this paper, in order to improve the operability of the dismantling actuator that is usually an excavator, a novel concept of tele-operated haptic device is proposed. Operators who use this haptic device with additional environmental sensing devices can work safely away from the dangerous sites. First, based on the concept design of the haptic device, the workspace mapping from the haptic device to the excavator is explored. Second, the kinematics which deals with the conversion from the 3 dimensional position information of the haptic device to the joint variable information of the backhoe is included. Lastly, 3D graphical simulation of both haptic device and the backhoe will be shown. This new design of the haptic device can be easily manufactured and gives the workers very convenient and transparent remote control capability.

The 3D simulations of the shielding concrete and the Rotary Specimen Rack(RSR) in the Korea Research Reactor-1&2(KRR-1&2) were carried out in present work. Four main dismantling processes, which are the removal of the RSR, reactor core region, beam tube, and thermal column and activated concrete, were selected for the graphic simulation by the consideration of the activation, worker training, work difficulty and so on. On the basis of these, we constructed their 3D CAD models and then drawn and reviewed their dismantling processes. In this study, the 3D simulation results of the shielding concrete and the RSR among main components are also presented and discussed.

Scheduling of dismantling old research reactor need to consider time, cost and safety for the worker. The biggest issue when dismantling facility for research reactor is safety for the worker and cost. Large portion of a budget is spending for the labor cost. To save labor cost for the worker, reducing a lead time is inevitable. Several algorithms applied to reduce read time, and safety considered as the most important factor for this project. This research presents three different dismantling scheduling scenarios. Best scenario shows the specific scheduling for worker and machine, so that it could save time and cost.
