정현파 신호 주파수 추정 알고리즘의 추정 정확도 비교 연구 (A Study on performance comparison of frequency estimators for sinusoid)

  • 본 논문은 정현파 신호에 대해 고해상도 주파수 추정이 가능한 알고리즘들의 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 비교 대상 알고리즘은 총 5가지로 DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform - 성능 평가 기준), Jacobsen, Candan, 재할당(Reassignment) 알고리즘 및 Cedron 알고리즘이다. 각 알고리즘의 성능을 SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio), 윈도우 함수, 윈도우 길이 등의 요소를 변화시켜가며 성능을 측정하였다. 알고리즘의 성능 평가는 편의 및 오차(Mean Square Error, MSE), 분산을 이용하여 측정하였으며, 실험결과 Cedron 알고리즘이 좋은 성능을 보였다. 실제 공학문제에서의 활용을 위해서는 각 알고리즘별로 보다 다양한 조건에서 실험 결과를 분석하고 개선시킬 필요가 있다.

조립토의 거칠기 및 모양 분석 (Roughness and Shape Analysis on Granular Materials)

  • The roughness of Joomoonjin sand and the Dongchun river sand was analysed by the fractal theory. It was found that the fractal dimension(D$\_$F/) of Joomoonjin sand is a little smaller than the Dongchun river sand. That means Joomoonjin sand is smoother than the Dongchun river sand. The measurements of D$\_$F/ of different fraction of the Donchun river sand showed that large particles were rougher than fine particles. The shapes of both sands were analysed by the Discrete Fourier Transform(DFT) and the Grid-based(GB) method. Normalization of coefficients with respect to size, starting point and its orientation made the coefficients invaried to these characteristics. The mean of the normalized coefficients was used to reconstruct the average shape for both sands, respectively. The measurements of the ellipticity ratio of different fraction of both sands showed that Joomoonjin sand is slightly flatter than the Dongcun river sand.

Allocation of Energy Storage Capacity for Large Wind Farms in Korea using Discrete Fourier Transform

  • In 2013, a total capacity of 591.3 MW of installed wind power generation was achieved in Korea, with a total of 1,139 MWh of wind energy generated that year. More wind power plants will be installed in the coming years, and it is important to develop methods to reduce the output variability of these resources so as to provide stable power to the power grid of Korea. In this regard, this paper proposes the use of energy storage system (ESS) as a means to stabilize the output variability of wind power plants. Presented in this paper is a method that uses Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) to determine the ESS capacity needed to provide a stable power output for ancillary services such as frequency regulation, economic dispatch, and emergency reserves. In the first step of the proposed method, four regions (namely, Samdal, Yeongdeok, Yeongyang, and Gangwon) in Korea that had the most wind power generation capacity were selected for analysis. In the second step, the individual and aggregated wind power outputs of the selected regions in 2013 were obtained This information was then used in the third step, where DFT analysis of the power outputs was used to drive the magnitudes of the output variation. And finally, the ESS capacity requirements needed to provide different ancillary services were determined based on the magnitudes of the output variation.

신호 준공간 모델에 기반한 통계적 음성 검출기 (Statistical Voice Activity Defector Based on Signal Subspace Model)

  • 음성 검출기 (VAD, Voice Activity Detector)는 이동 통신이나 음성신호처리 등에 매우 중요한 기법으로 사용된다. 일반적인 음성 검출방식은 이산 푸리에 변환 (DFT, Discrete Fourier Transform)영역에서 통계적인 모델을 기반으로 하여 우도비검정 (LRT, Likelihood Ratio Test)을 하게 된다. 그리고 이 값을 임계값과 비교하며 음성인지 아닌지 판단하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 신호 준공간 (Signal Subspace)에 기반한 새로운 통계적 음성 검출 기법을 제안하다. 확률적인 주성분 분석 (PPCA, Probabilistic Principal Component Analysis)은 신호 준공간 방법에서 잡음신호에 대한 확률적인 모델을 얻기 위해 사용된다. 제안된 기법은 신호 준공간 영역에서 우도비검정에 기반을 두는 결정규칙을 적용하였다. 음성 검출 실험 결과는 신호 준공간 모델에 근거한 음성 검출기 기법이 주파수 영역에 기반한 가우시안 (Gaussian) 음성 검출기 보다 향상된 검출 결과를 보여준다.

Efficient Channel Delay Estimation for OFDM Systems over Doubly-Selective Fading Channels

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient channel delay estimation method for orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) systems, especially over doubly-selective fading channels which are selective in both the symbol time domain and subcarrier frequency domain. For the doubly-selective fading channels in single frequency network (SFN), long and strong echoes exist and thus the conventional discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) based channel delay estimation system often fails to produce the exact channel delay profile. Based on the analysis of the discrete-time frequency response of the channel impulse response (CIR) coefficients in the DFT-based channel delay estimation system, we develop a method to effectively extract the true CIR from the aliased signals by employing a simple narrow-band low-pass filter (NB-LPF). The performance of the proposed system is verified using the COST207 TU6 SFN channel model.

  • In this paper, we analyze the effect of the coherence bandwidth of wireless channels on leakage suppression methods for discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-based channel estimation in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Virtual carriers in an OFDM symbol cause orthogonality loss in DFT-based channel estimation, which is referred to as the leakage problem. In order to solve the leakage problem, optimal and suboptimal methods have already been proposed. However, according to our analysis, the performance of these methods highly depends on the coherence bandwidth of wireless channels. If some of the estimated channel frequency responses are placed outside the coherence bandwidth, a channel estimation error occurs and the entire performance worsens in spite of a high signal-to-noise ratio.

  • 통신위성 중계기에서 효과적인 다중채널 처리를 위하여 여러 가지 필터뱅크들이 사용되어져 왔다. 특히 구현의 간단함으로 인하여 대역폭이 일정한 복수의 다중채널을 다루는 경우 다상 DFT 필터뱅크가 광법위하게 사용되어져 왔다. 하지만 주파수도약 통신위성 중계기에서 Polyphase DFT 필터뱅크를 사용하여 다중채널 처리를 할 경우 주파수 도약 홉과 홉 사이에서 발생하는 비정상적인 과도기 응답으로 인하여 다상 DFT 필터뱅크의 사용에 있어 제약이 발생할 수 밖에 없다. 본 논문에서는 주파수 도약 환경에서의 비정상적인 다상 DFT 필터뱅크의 과도기 응답을 분석하고 해당 문제를 해결 할 수 있는 방법을 제시하며 모의실험을 통하여 제안된 방법의 효율성을 보인다.

Low Complexity Discrete Hartley Transform Precoded OFDM System over Frequency-Selective Fading Channel

  • Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) suffers from spectral nulls of frequency-selective fading channels. Linear precoded (LP-) OFDM is an effective method that guarantees symbol detectability by spreading the frequency-domain symbols over the whole spectrum. This paper proposes a computationally efficient and low-cost implementation for discrete Hartley transform (DHT) precoded OFDM systems. Compared to conventional DHT-OFDM systems, at the transmitter, both the DHT and the inverse discrete Fourier transform are replaced by a one-level butterfly structure that involves only one addition per symbol to generate the time-domain DHT-OFDM signal. At the receiver, only the DHT is required to recover the distorted signal with a single-tap equalizer in contrast to both the DHT and the DFT in the conventional DHT-OFDM. Theoretical analysis of DHT-OFDM with linear equalizers is presented and confirmed by numerical simulation. It is shown that the proposed DHT-OFDM system achieves similar performance when compared to other LP-OFDMs but exhibits a lower implementation complexity and peak-to-average power ratio.

  • The following methods are proposed for implementing digital dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) receiver: using infinite impulse response(IIR) digital filters, period-counting algorithm, discrete Fourier transform(DFT), and fast Fourier transform(FFT)[2]. The PARCOR(Partical Correlation) analysis method which has been widly used in the speech signal processing area is applied to the dual tone multi-frequency(DTMF) signal detection. This method is easy to implement digitally and stronger to digit simulation of speech than any other methods proposed up to date. Since sampling rate of 4KHz is used in the DTMF receiver for the detection of input DTMF signal originally sampled at 8KHz, it effects two times higher multiplexing efficiency.

  • 본 논문에서는 전력계통에서 정밀하고 변화에 수렴성이 빠른 탐색을 기반으로 하는 주파수 추정 기법을 제안하였다. 제안된 주파수 추정 알고리즘은 고분해능 스펙트럼의 기울기를 추정하여 스펙트럼의 peak 점을 탐색하는 구조를 적용하였다. 과도적으로 주파수 변화가 큰 경우에 기존 방법들의 단점인 수렴속도가 늦는 점을 보완 또는 개선하기 위한 방법으로 Context analysis를 통하여 Full-search 기법과 주파수 추정변수들을 적응적으로 적용하여 주파수 추정의 정밀도와 수렴속도를 향상시키고 대표적인 주파수 추정기법인 DFT(discrete Fourier transform) 방법, ECKF(extended complex Kalman filter), MV(minimum variable)방법들과 비교하여 수렴성과 정밀도가 우수함을 보였다.
