  • In this paper, we have designed the VHDL module of DS/SS QPSK wireless modem processor for digital data communication. The spread spectrum method is used for modern processor, because this method guarantees good frequency efficiency and higher security. Also, it guarantees good performance in digital communication system under multi-path interferences. The differential encoder and decoder are used for simple circuit composition in the signal detection. For the synchronization of receiver, matched filter and power detector are used.   • In this paper, a specification for wireless LAN MODEM using direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) technique is presented. Some algorithms and hardware architectures for an efficient implementation of the DS/SS MODEM are suggested. In the method, all baseband signal processing are done digitally for single chip implementation. Schemes of DQPSK baseband modulation/demodulation, despreading with digital matched filter, digital timing recovery, and efficient carrier sensing are among the discussed algorithms. We also performed various kinds of simulations to evaluate the system performance and to extract parameters for hardware implementation. In addition, the pictorial view of ASIC of the SS MODEM is also shown.

Modeling of Wideband DS-SS Signaling over Multipath Fading Channels

  • A mobile propagation characteristics for wideband DS-SS (Direct Sequence-Spectrum) signal is presented. Existing narrowband model is extended for the wideband pulse with an arbitrary shape. The received DS-SS signal in the frequency domain is the transfer function of the propagation channel weighted by the inverse Fourier transform. In this proposed method, received signal spectral density, instantaneous waveform, and Doppler spectrum of DS-SS signal via either Rayleigh of Rician channel can be obtained easily. Simulation results match well with both simulated theoretical fading statistics and classical theory. As expected, the extraction of chip timing in Rician fading shown to be more tractable than Rayleigh fading.

  • In this paper, we present narrowband interference (NBI) cancelling algorithm applied to wideband spread spectrum system. We introduce multi-carrier transmission technique to overcome hardware inplementation difficulty of wideband spreading above 40MHz and to enhance NBI performance. A direct-sequence spread spectrum receiver using both decision-feedback and two sided LMS filters for combating narrowband interference is applied. We show that performance of this receiver outperforms conventional NBI rejection systems in tone jamming, partial band jamming, and impulsive channel through the bit error ratio evaluation. In addition, we propose a new technique to improve the performance of time domain NBI rejection algorithm sensitive to impulsive channel.

  • This paper presents the analytical method to evaluate the seismic responses on steam turbine-generator rotor system. Deterministic analytical methods, such as response spectrum approach, modal superposition method and direct integration method, are used to calculate the seismic response. The computer software is also developed based on the methods then can be applied to estimate the seismic safety of turbine-generator rotor system for power plants. Numerical example of a steam turbine-generator rotor system of 1007MW nuclear power plant is presented. The aseismatic performance are checked by comparing maximum seismic deflection at bearing positions with bearing clearance.

  • In this paper, performance of a hybrid direct-sequency/slow-frequency-hopped (DS/SFH) spread-spectrum (SS) system with coherent BPSK modulation is analyzed. The bit error probability is derived over a frequency=-selective rician fading channel in the presence of multiple tone jamming. The fading channel is modeled as the wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering (WSSUS) model. Numerical evaluations are presented for some combinations of system parameters. The performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system is shown to be inferior to that of a ure DS SS system at low jamming-to-signal power ratio (JSR). At high JSR, the performance of a pure DS SS system is shown to be the smae as the worst case performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system.

  • Using an aromatic system, we made a ultra thin insulator through LB-method. We measured and wrote down afternating currant characteristics of ultraviolet rays extincting-spectrum and I.R extincting-spectrum. We surveyed the thickness of a film through X-ray diffracting method and certified about $4{\AA}$ by the layer. Measuring the characteristics of direct current voltage and electric current with this sample, we produced its conductivity and discovered that this sample had a god insulating performance. Addition to this, we measured the characteristics of voltage and electric current, and the temperature dependency of conductivity in a high voltage system and with these results tried to interpret a mechanism of conduction.

  • 본 논문에서는 한 개의 탄성표면파 콘벌버를 사용한 직접 시퀀스 대역 확산 통신시스템에서의 DPSK 복조기를 제작, 실험을 하고, 이론적인 고찰을 하였따. 제작한 DPSK 복조 시스템은 SSMA를 위하여 각 데이터 마다 다른 코드로 대역 확산시켰으며, 코드 칩은 PSK로 변조하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 복조 시스템의 출력은 시뮬레이션 파형과 같음을 확인하였으며, 이론적인 고찰 결과 두개의 콘벌버를 사용한 CSK 복조 시스템과 같은 성능을 보였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 저작권자의 개인 ID 를 직접 행렬 대역확산(Direct Matrix-Spread Spectrum) 방식을 이용하여 워터마크 영상을 부호화한 후, 주파수 영역에서 원 영상에 삽입하고 검출하는 워터마킹 기법을 제안한다. 워터마크 영상은 시각적으로 인식 가능한 패턴(마크, 로고, 심볼, 인장 또는 서명)을 사용한다. 워터마크가 삽입된 영상의 화질저하를 추정하기 위해 PSNR 을 계산하고, 검출된 워터마크의 복원률을 구하여 외부공격에 대한 워터마크의 강인성을 확인한다. 여러 표준영상에 적용해 본 결과 워터마크가 삽입된 영상의 PSNR 은 93.2 dB 로 우수한 화질을 얻을 수 있었으며, JPEG 손실 압축에서는 83.6 % 이상의 워터마크 복원률을 얻을 수 있었고 영상변형 및 잡음하에서도 효과적인 워터마크 검출 능력을 보였다.

  • The data transmission system in MAGLEV is required a high quality and high speed for a train safety and reliability driving. In the transmission channel between a vehicle and a ground-site, Gaussian noise is negligible, but impulse noise from the chopper controlled propulsoin unit and the Power supplying device is very severe. The transmission channel must be protected from these noise. In this paper, we propose a DSSS (direct-sequence spread spectrum) modulation as a new data transmission technique in the railway and analyze this data transmission characteristics.
