구취발생과 구강환경의 연관성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship between Halitosis Developments and Oral Environmental)

  • 본 연구는 구취의 원인을 분류하고, 각 성분들에 영향을 미치는 구강환경 요인들과 어떤 관련성이 있는지를 조사하여 구취환자 개개인의 구강건강을 증진시키고 구취관련의 올바른 보건교육에 활용하고자 실시하였으며, 2009년 3월 1일부터 2010년 3월 1일까지 1년간 대도시 소재 치과병원 외래환자 98명의 자료를 최종분석에 이용한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 구취의 각 성분인 Hydrogen sulfide, Methyl mercaptan, Dimethyl sulfide 및 Ammonia의 평균 수치는 Hydrogen sulfide 36.71 ppb, Methyl mercaptan은 31.46 ppb, Dimethyl sulfide는 54.33 ppb, Ammonia는 22.60 ppm로 나타났고, 정상과 역치 이상의 검출비교 결과 Dimethyl sulfide는 46.9%가 역치 이상으로 검출되었고, Ammonia는 연구대상자 중 52%가 역치 이상으로 검출되어 가장 높게 나타났다. 2. Hydrogen sulfide 성분의 양에 따라 Dimethyl sulfide 성분의 양, 설태의 양과 타액 분비율이 통계적으로 유의한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). 3. Methyl mercaptan 성분의 양은 Dimethyl sulfide의 성분과 설태량, 타액 분비율과 통계적으로 유의한 관계가 있었다(p<0.05). 4. Dimethyl sulfide성분의 양은 Hydrogen sulfide성분, Ammonia성분과 관련이 있었으며, 설태의 양, 타액분비율, 타액내 수소이온농도지수와도 관계가 있었다(p<0.05). 5. Ammonia성분은 Methyl mercaptan성분과 Dimethyl sulfide성분, 치주필요지수(CPI), 타액 분비율이 통계적으로 유의한 관계가 있었다(p<0.05).

계절별 악취물질의 배출량 분석 및 평가에 관한 연구 (Seasonal Analysis of Odorous Compounds Emitted From the Chemical Plant)

  • In this study, the concentrations of offensive odorous compounds seasonally emitted from the chemical plant at Chongju industrial complex in Korea were determined by the analytical methods of gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography and uv/vis spectroscopy. The kinds of offensive odorous compounds examined are formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, butyl aldehyde, propion aldehyde, n-valeric aldehyde, iso-valeric aldehyde, hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide, dimethyl disulfide, trimethyl amine and ammonia. The seasonally emission levels of all odorous compounds except dimethyl sulfide at 13 sampling points of plant were lower than those of the regulation standard levels of the industrial complex in Korea. The levels were the highest in June, and lowest in December. The propion aldehyde and iso-valeric aldehyde in June and December, butyl aldehyde in December, and n-valeric aldehyde were not detected in all the three seasons at any sampling points of the plant examined. But in June, dimethyl sulfide was emitted up to 16 times than that of the regulation level.

  • A preparative method of Me2SCuX (X = Cl, Br) via one-pot reaction was developed from common chemicals such as benzyl halide, DMSO, and Cu(0). In the reaction mixture small molecules such as methyl halide and dimethyl sulfide etc. were efficiently generated in situ, resulting in the formation of Me2SCuX. Oxidation of Cu(0) in reacting with both benzyl halide (starting material) and methyl halide (in situ generated product) to Cu(I) followed by complexing with dimethyl sulfide (in situ generated product) could explain the formation of Me2SCuX. In particular we found out that heterogeneous reaction of Me2SCuX and arenediazonium tetrafluoroborate in acetonitrile was so effective to afford corresponding bromoaromatics under mild conditions.

  • 휘발성 황화합물 중 생물학적으로 가장 난분해성으로 알려 져 있는 DMS에 대한 분해능이 우수한 신균주를 분리. 동정 하여 Gordonia sihwaniensis PKL-1로 명명하였다. 이 균주는 D DMS 초기농도가 35 mg/L 이상일 때에도 우수한 분해능을 보였고, 회분식 배양에서 최대 비분해속도 $\upsilon_{max}$ 없는 0.0016 mg/(mg-protein).hr이 었고, 최적 의 온도와 pH는 각각 $25^{\circ}C$ 와 pH는 7이였다.

In this study, we investigated the emission concentrations of offensive odorous compounds of hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide and dimethyl disulfide, trimethylamine, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, buthylaldehyde, iso-valeric aldehyde, n-valeric aldehyde, ammonia. The concentrations of odorous compounds are determined by gas chromatography, HPLC and uv-vis spectroscopy. Hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide and dimethyl disulfide were not detected at any point examined.

  • BACKGROUND: Garlic (Allium sativum) contains polyphenols and sulfur compounds that are recognized as antioxidant, antithrombotic, anticancer, antibacterial, antimicrobial, nematicidal, and insecticidal activity. For this reason, the Environmentally-friendly Agriculture Promotion Act allowed the garlic extract as commercial biopesticide material for crop protection, nine commercial biopesticides containing A. sativum extract have been marketed in Korea. METHODS AND RESULTS: The determination of allylmethyl sulfide (AMS), dimethyl disulfide (DMDS), and dipropyl sulfide (DPS) in biopesticides containing A. sativum extract was developed and validated by gas chromatography (GC) mass spectrometry (MS) with head-space sampler. The developed method was validated, and the limit of quantification (LOQ) and recovery rates of AMS, DMDS, and DPS were 0.08, 0.32, and 0.09 mg/L and 90.3-91.3, 86.2-88.3, and 87.6-89.5%, respectively. 동결건조에 의한 김치의 휘발성냄새성분의 변화 (Changes of Volatile Odor Components in Kimchi by Freeze-drying)

  • 김치를 각각 다른 온도에서 일주일간 숙성시킨 후, 먼저 젖산균수와 관능성을 관찰하고 동결건조시킨 후, 동결건조에 의한 김치의 주요한 휘발성냄새성분의 변화를 관찰하였다. 김치의 숙성온도를 증가시킴에 따라 시료의 pH는 저하하였고 $25^{\circ}C$의 경우를 제외하고는 젖산균수는 증가하였으며, 관능적 특성은 $0^{\circ}C$의 경우는 표준시료와 차이가 없었으나, $5^{\circ}C$, $15^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$의 관능적 특성은 숙성온도가 증가함에 따라 점차 저하하였다. 본 실험에서 검출된 김치의 휘발성냄새성분은 allyl mercaptan, methyl allyl sulfide, dimethyl disulfide, diallyl sulfide, diallyl disulfide와 같은 황함유성분 5종과 ethanol이며, 이 중에서 allyl mercaptan, methyl allyl sulfide, diallyl sulfide, ethanol은 시료에 따라 차이는 있었으나 김치의 숙성온도가 증가함에 따라 생성량이 증가하였고, dimethyl disulfide와 diallyl disulfide는 숙성온도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였다. 한편 24시간 동결건조의 경우는 이상의 모든 휘발성 냄새성분이 현저하게 감소하였으며 48시간 동결건조에 의하여 시료에 따라서는 24시간과 거의 같거나 24시간보다 더 감소하였다.

황 화합물계 악취 제거 미생물의 분리 및 동정 (Isolation and Identification of Bacteria Removing Sulfur Compound Odor)

  • 활성 오니법에 의한 하수처리장 포기조에서 슬러지를 채취하여 황화물계 악취제거 균주인 Thiobacillus속의 선별 배지로 50개 균주를 분리하였다. 분리한 50개 균주의 동정 결과 7개 균주는 Thiobaecillus neapolitanus, 4개 균주는 Thiobacillus tepidarius, 5개 균주는 Thiobacillus denitrificans, 23개 균주는 Thiobacillus versutus, 2개 균주는 Thiobacillus intetmedius, 9개 균주는 Thiobacillus perometabolis로 동정되었다. 분리 동정한 균주들로 고효율 황화물계 악취(황화수소, dimethyl sulfide, methyl disulfide)제거 균주 스크린을 하였다. 그 결과 황화수소, dimethyl sulfide에 대하여 KT5l(Thiobacillus versutus)균주가 각각 l00%, 85%로 가장 높은 제거율을 보였다. Dimethyl disulfide의 경우에는 전체 균주가 다른 악취성분에 비해 제거율이 낮았는데 KT8l균주가 26%로 가장 높은 제거율을 보였다. 스크린 결과 KT5l균주를 선별하였으며, 선별된 KT51균주를 밀폐된 모형 생물학적 처리 반응기에 적용하여 황 화합물의 제거 효율을 비교한 결과, 황화수소의 경우, 100 ppm을 주입 후 균주 적용전의 운전 결과는 30분 이후에 0.02 ppm 미만(99.8%)으로 제거한 반면, 균주 적용 시의 운전 결과는 15분에 황화수소를 0.02 ppm 미만(99.8%)으로 처리하였다.

차량 내 미생물에 의해 생성되는 악취유발 화학물질의 분석 (Determination of Malodor-causing Chemicals Produced by Microorganisms Inside Automobile)

  • It was confirmed that malodor connected with an air-conditioner in an automobile is caused by microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs) produced by microorganisms getting into an air-conditioner when it is operating. Chemicals such as hydrogen sulfide, dimethyl sulfide, nbutyric acid, n-valeric acid, iso-valeric acid, n-octanol and toluene were detected above the odor threshold inside the automobile. The characteristics of a funky odor in the air blown into the automobile were due to detected sulfur compounds (hydrogen sulfide and dimethyl sulfide). Dimethyl sulfide was produced by microorganisms such as Aspergillus versicolor, Methylobacterium aquaticum, Herbaspirillum sp. and Acidovorax sp. In addition, the characteristics of a sour odor in the air blown into the automobile were due to detected organic acids (n-butyric acid, n-valeric acid and iso-valeric acid). N-valeric acid and iso-valeric acid were generated from Aspergillus versicolor, while iso-valeric acid was produced by Methylobacterium aquaticum. In addition, the odor intensity of the air blown into the automobile was affected by the concentration of detected sulfur compounds and organic acids. On the other hand, it is estimated that chemicals such as hydrogen sulfide, n-octanol and n-butyric acid detected in the air blown into the automobile were produced by non-identified species of microorganisms.

구멍갈파래(Ulva pertusa)로부터 Dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin 최적추출조건 (Optimal Extracting Conditions Dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin from Ulva pertusa)

  • This study was focused on the optimal extracting conditions of dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin as bioactive substance from green seaweed. Identification and quantification of dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin were measured by headspace gas chromatography after conversion to dimethyl sulfide by treatment with saturated NaOH solution. Dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin was extracted through various processes (solvent extraction, ultrasonication, boiling and autoclaving) from Ulva pertusa. The content of dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin extracted by autoclaving treatment showed higher than that of various extraction methods. Dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin content in extract of Ulva pertusa was 325,800 ng/g after autoclaving 121$^{\circ}C$ for 45 min. Dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin in exract of Ulva pertusa was comparative stable under low temperature. The retentions of dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin content in extract of Ulva pertusa were 76.6~99.8% by incubation at 10~6$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. Chemical decomposition of dimethyl-$\beta$-propiothetin was observed under laboratory conditions at pH values higher than 9.5.
