  • In this paper, we present a object detection and tracking method based on image context analysis. It is robust from the image variations such as complicated background, dynamic movement of the object. Image context analysis is carried out using the hybrid network of k-means and RBF. The proposed object detection employs context-driven adaptive Bayesian framework to relive the effect due to uneven object images. The proposed method used feature vector generator using 2D Haar wavelet transform and the Bayesian discriminant method in order to enhance the speed of learning. The system took less time to learn, and learning in a wide variety of data showed consistent results. After we developed the proposed method was applied to real-world environment. As a result, in the case of the object to detect pass outside expected area or other changes in the uncertain reaction showed that stable. The experimental results show that the proposed approach can achieve superior performance using various data sets to previously methods.

  • Nowadays, a private protection act has come into effect which demands for the protection of personal image information obtained by the CCTV. According to this act, the object out of interest has to be mosaicked such that it can not be identified before the image is sent to the investigation office. Meanwhile, the demand for digital videos obtained by CCTV is also increasing for digital forensic. Therefore, due to the two conflicting demands, the demand for a solution which can automatically mask an object in the CCTV video is increasing and related IT industry is expected to grow. The core technology in developing a target masking solution is the object tracking technique. In this paper, we propose an object tracking technique which suits for the application of CCTV video object masking as a postprocess. The proposed method simultaneously uses the motion and the color information to produce a stable tracking result. Furthermore, the proposed method is based on the centroid shifting method, which is a fast color based tracking method, and thus the overall tracking becomes fast.

  • Discrimination of media object segments in wireless home proxies has a significant impact on caching delay, and caching delay degrades the performance of the proxy. In this paper, we propose a Single Fetching Smart Caching (SFSC) strategy and a Multi-Fetching Smart Caching (MFSC) strategy to improve the proxy performance of the home network and improve the caching performance for media object segments. The SFSC strategy is a technique that performs caching by sequential fetching of object segments requested by the home node one at a time, which guarantees a faster cache hit rate, and the MFSC strategy is a technique that caches the media object segments by blocking object segments requested by the home node one at a time, which improves the throughput of cache. Simulation results show that the cache hit rate and the caching delay are more efficient than the MFSC technique, and the throughput of the object segment is more efficient than that of the SFSC technique.

  • Because urban areas change rapidly, it is necessary to reflect urban changes in a digital map database in a timely manner. To address these issues, LiDAR data was used to detect changes in urban area buildings. The purpose of this study is to detect object-based building change using LiDAR data and existing digital maps, and classify change types. In the study, we classified change type using overlay and shape comparison with building layer of the digital maps and point-based extracted building outline from the LiDAR data. When applying the overlay method, we were able to increase the accuracy and objectivity of the change detection process throughout an adaptive threshold applied to each object. In the experiments, it was demonstrated that classifying and detecting changes in urban areas using the proposed method can provide superior classification accuracy compared with the existing methodology.

  • For an adaptive cruise control (ACC) stop-and-go system in automotive applications, three radar sensors are needed because two 24 GHz short range radars are used for object detection in an adjacent lane, and one 77 GHz long-range radar is used for object detection in the center lane. In this letter, we propose a single sensor-based 24 GHz radar with a detection capability of up to 150 m and ${\pm}30^{\circ}$ for an ACC stop-and-go system. The developed radar is highly integrated with a high gain patch antenna, four channel receivers with GaAs RF ICs, and back-end processing board with subspace based digital beam forming algorithm.

  • This paper proposes a algorithm that generate the intermediate scene from the stereo image. This system based on mesh representation method, and segmented objects which ar calculated from triangles the pro proposed algorithm is composed of two steps. One is triangle grouping using gestalt theory, and the other is disparity estimation using average disparity of segmented object. We make an experiment on the proposed algorithm with some stereo images and obtain good quality disparity map for intermediate scenes.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop an automatic measuring system based on the digital image processing which can be applied to the in-process measurment of the characteristics of the thin thickness. The derivative operators is used for edge detection in gray level image. This concept can be easily illustrated with the aid of object shows an image of a simple light object on a dark background, the gray level profile along a horizontal scan line of the image, and the first and second derivatives of the profile. The first derivative of an edge modeled in this manner is 0 in all regions of constant gray level, and assumes a constant value during a gray level transition. The experimental results indicate that the developed automatic inspection system can be applied in real situation.

  • Tele-Gesture is a tangible user interface(TUI) device that allows a user to physically point to a 3D object in real life and have their gestures play back by a robotic finger that can point to the same object, either at the same time, or at another point in time. To understand the extent of the gestures as new way of digital collaborative communication, collaboration situation and types were experimented as TUI implementations. The design prototype reveals that there is a rich non-verbal component of communication in the form of gesture-clusters and body movements that happen in an digital communication. This result of analysis can contribute to compile relevant contributions to the fields of communication, human behavior, and interaction with high technology through an interpretive social experience.

  • This paper was written for the purpose of seeking a radical answer to the reason why we feel an actuality while watching a digital animated film. In the world of digital animation, there exist surrealistic subjects and the objects, which have come been brought into life, play their own role there. Furthermore, objects, which do not exist anywhere in the real world, appear and are closely connected with each other by means of a time discourse. Their world seems to be identical to our world or not. This study defined an actuality of a digital animation world as an actuality of Imaginary reality, an actuality of existent object, an actuality of anonymous object and an actuality time discourse, and examined such actuality. A frame of concept for examining the actuality was borrowed from philosophical statements of phenomenology that understands the nature of an actuality through 'zu den Sachen selbst'. Philosophical statements cited for searching an actuality specifically were those already explained by E. Husserl, M. Heidegger, J.-P. Sartre, G. Bachelard, M. Merleau-Ponty, and P. Ricoeur, Methodologically, this study attempted to understand our existence and recognition of the world in a phenomenological point of view, apply this principle to the world of a digital animation, and subsequently discuss it with the provision of examples. The purpose for this study is to reconsider the fundamental moaning of a digital animated film and evaluate its value.

  • Since existing thematic maps have been made with medium- to low-resolution satellite images, they have several shortcomings including low positional accuracy and low precision of presented thematic information. Digital aerial photo image taken recently can express panchromatic and color bands as well as NIR (Near Infrared) bands which can be used in interpreting forest areas. High resolution images are also available, so it would be possible to conduct precision land cover classification. In this context, this paper implemented object-based land cover classification by using digital aerial photos with 0.12m GSD (Ground Sample Distance) resolution and IKONOS satellite images with 1m GSD resolution, both of which were taken on the same area, and also executed qualitative analysis with ortho images and existing land cover maps to check the possibility of object-based land cover classification using digital aerial photos and to present usability of digital aerial photos. Also, the accuracy of such classification was analyzed by generating TTA(Training and Test Area) masks and also analyzed their accuracy through comparison of classified areas using screen digitizing. The result showed that it was possible to make a land cover map with digital aerial photos, which allows more detailed classification compared to satellite images.
