  • In this paper, a controller design for high speed and stiffness linear motor is implemented. The designed controller is mainly composed of speed and current controller, which are carried out by the high-speed digital signal processor(DSP). In addition the PWM inverter is controlled by space voltage PWM method. This system is implemented by using 32-bit DSP(TMS320C31), a high-integrated logic device(EPM7128), and IPM(Intelligent Power Module) for compact and powerful system design. The experimental results show the effective performance of controller for high speed and stiffness linear motor.

  • An electro-optic polymer digital optical switch with a coupling region modified for optimum mode coupling is proposed, and it is analyzed by using the beam propagation method combined with the effective index method. Its modified coupling region is adiabatically introduced along the propagation direction from the branching point of the two waveguides. The structure of the modified coupling region and its refractive index profiles are designed to optimize the mode coupling in the Y-branch waveguide. Therefor, the switching performance of the device may be enhanced with a fixed device length. It is confirmed from the numerical calculation that the drive voltage is reduced by more than 30 percents and te crosstalk is improved by about 8dB.

  • In this paper, An efficient circuit design algorithm considering constraint is proposed. The proposed algorithm sets up in time constraint and area constraint, power consumption constraint for a circuit implementation. First, scheduling process for time constraint. Select the FU(Function Unit) which is satisfied with time constraint among the high level synthesis results. Analyze area and power consumption of selected FUs. Constraint set for area and power constraint. Device selection to see to setting condition. Optimization circuit implementation in selected device. The proposed algorithm compared with [7] and [8] algorithm. Therefore the proposed algorithm is proved an efficient algorithm for optimization circuit implementation.

  • Since a pattern defects "repair" system using a diode pumped solid state laser for Flat Panel Display (FPD) was suggested, a lot of laser systems have been explored and developed for mass-production microfabrication process. A maskless lithography system using 405 nm violet laser and Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) has been developed for PDP and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Thin Film Transistor (TFT) photolithography process. In addition, a "Laser Direct Patterning" system for Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) for Plasma Display Panel(PDP) has been evaluated one of the best successful examples for laser application system which is applied for mass-production lines. The "heat" and "solvent" free laser microfabrications process will be widely used because the next-generation flat panel displays, Flexible Display and Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) should use plastic substrates and organic materials which are very difficult to process using traditional fabrication methods.

Simplified Ground-type Single-plate Electrowetting Device for Droplet Transport

  • The current paper describes a simpler ground-type, single-plate electrowetting configuration for droplet transport in digital microfluidics without performance degradation. The simplified fabrication process is achieved with two photolithography steps. The first step simultaneously patterns both a control electrode array and a reference electrode on a substrate. The second step patterns a dielectric layer at the top to expose the reference electrode for grounding the liquid droplet. In the experiment, a $5{\mu}m$ thick photo-imageable polyimide, with a 3.3 dielectric constant, is used as the dielectric layer. A 10 nm Teflon-AF is coated to obtain a hydrophobic surface with a high water advancing angle of $116^{\circ}$ and a small contact angle hysteresis of $5^{\circ}$. The droplet movement of 1 mM methylene blue on this simplified device is successfully demonstrated at control voltages above the required 45 V to overcome the contact angle hysteresis.

  • Smartphone is becoming as a core device of mobile environment. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting customer's buying decision on smartphone. Based on prior studies and cases, this study identifies network effect, switching cost, function, design, brand, after service, price as affecting factors of customer's buying decision on smartphone. It also aims to investigate the relationship between network effect/switching cost and re-purchasing. Result shows that network effect brand, after service are significantly related to customer's buying decision on smartphone by device types, but switching cost, function, design, price are not. Network effect also was found to be significantly related to the re-purchasing. The result of this study may provide a guideline of supply strategy with smartphone suppliers.

  • It has become ever harder to design reliable circuits with each nanometer technology node under normal operation conditions, a transistor device can be affected by various aging effects resulting in performance degradation and eventually design failure. The reliability (aging) effect has traditionally been the area of process engineers. However, in the future, even the smallest of variations can slow down a transistor's switching speed, and an aging device may not perform adequately at a very low voltage. Because of such dilemmas, the transistor aging is emerging as a circuit designer's problem. Therefore, in this paper, the impact of aging effects on the delay and power dissipation of digital circuits by using nanomneter MOSFET power gating structure has been analyzed.. Based on this analyzed aging models, a reliable digital circuits can be designed.

  • Piezo devices have large power density and simple structure. They can generate larger force than the conventional actuators. It has also wide bandwidth with fast response in a compact size. Thus the piezo devices are expected to be used widely in the future for small actuators with fast response time and large actuating force. However, the piezo actuators need high voltage with high driving current due to their large capacitive property. In this paper, we propose a simple method to drive piezo devices using voltage inversion circuit with coil inductance. Experiments with real circuit demonstrates that the proposed scheme can improve the energy efficiency very much.

  • 소셜 네트워크 시스템의 발전과 통신기술의 발달로 인해 모바일 디바이스 사용자의 수는 나날이 증가하고 있다. 이로 인해 모바일 디바이스와 소셜 네트워크를 바탕으로 한 다양한 게임들이 개발되고 있다. 소셜 네트워크를 기반으로 한 모바일 게임의 대중적 인기는 남녀노소를 불문하고 증폭되고 있으며 그 시장성 역시 높이 평가되고 있다. 이 연구는 현재 가장 큰 인기를 얻고 있는 대표적 모바일 게임들을 선정하여 사례 연구와 인기 요인을 분석함으로써 소셜 네트워크와 모바일 디바이스를 활용한 교육용 콘텐츠 개발 가능성과 효율적인 활용 요소들을 제시하고자 한다.
