Implementation of Control Point, Digital TV, and Light Controller Emulator on Embedded System Using UPnP Home Networking Control Middleware (홈 네트워킹 제어 미들웨어인 UPnP를 이용한 Control Point 및 내장형 시스템 상에서의 DTV와 전등 제어기 에뮬레이터 구현)

  • In this paper, we have implemented UPnP Devices which emulate a Control Point, a Light Controller, and a Digital TV. The Control Point has been developed on Linux host system by using C language. The UPnP Devices emulating the Digital TV and Light Controller are running on embedded linux developer board. For the development of UPnP Devices, UPnP SDK API Vl.04 made by Intel Co. Ltd. has been ported on Assabet Linux Reference board to implement the UPnP protocol. After we analyze and design some services of Digital TV device, we have applied UPnP Device program to those devices. UPnP SDK vl .04 consists of APIs which support HTTP, SSDP, SOAP, GENA and XML DOM Level-1 that are cores of UPnP protocol. The C program written for the UPnP Control Point has been compiled and executed on Linux-based PC. The embedded system running on Embedded Linux OS has been connected all together through Ethernet which allows IP-based communications. Under this environment, the UPnP programs are being executed on each device. Control Point, when in operational mode, discovers UPnP Devices on the network and displays the device list on the consol. By selecting one of the functionalities of the device services that are displayed on the Control Point, the controllability has been accomplished. The experiment that we performed in this thesis have revealed that the Control Point and UPnP Devices have supported the protocols including SSDP, SOAP, GENA, and DHCP.

Policy Factors in the Development of IT Assistive Devices: A Comparative Study between Korea and America (정보통신 보조기기 발달의 제도적 요인: 한국과 미국의 비교)

  • Korea has deeper digital divide between disabled and non-disabled people than other industrialized countries have. This study attributes the deep divide to policy factors and attempts to discern differences in policies concerning IT assistive devices between Korea and America. This study finds that major differences in policy exist between the two countries, and the differences account for Korea's unsatisfactory state of digital divide. Firstly, Korra has different 'perception' of assistive devices. While IT assistive devices are perceived as rehabilitation tools as well as bridges over digital divide in America, they are still foreign to social welfare and rehabilitation of disabled people in Korea. Secondly, the two countries differ in 'enforcement of policy.' In Korea, unlike in America, compliance with regulations on assistive devises is not compulsory. Besides, laws and regulations do not clarify possible sources of financing and legal sanctions, thus their enforcement is hardly effective. Thirdly, Korea's strategy for assistive device 'market' is very different from America's. America has long-term strategies to enliven the market for IT assistive devices. But Korea provided a lump sum of device development fund, and then gave out the assistive devices free of charge. As a result, the IT assistive device market has not been formed, and the foundation for further device development is yet to be constructed.

The Effects of Infant's Digital Device Usage and Parents' Perception on Infant's Language Development (영아의 디지털기기 사용과 디지털기기에 대한 부모의 인식이 영아의 언어발달에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of parents' perception of infant's use of digital devices on language development. Methods: For this study, a survey was conducted on 285 parents of 1-2year old infants attending childcare centers in Jeollanam-do. Results: First, the digital devices that infants were exposed to the most was the television, and their first exposure to digital devices was at 13~17 months. The most time spent using digital devices was 30 minutes and they most frequently used them at home. Second, parents perceived the educational value of digital devices as low. Third, language development was high when the initial use of digital devices for infants was late, when the daily use time of digital devices was less than 30 minutes, when digital devices were used with parents, and when parents always managed digital devices and usage time. Fourth, Parents' perception of the use of digital devices has a significant influence on their infants' language development. Conclusion/Implications: Language development due to the use of digital devices and parents' perception of the use of digital devices has a significant impact on infants language development.

A Study on the Relationship between Digital Informatization Level and Leisure Life Satisfaction of Low Income (저소득층의 디지털 정보화수준과 여가 생활 만족도 간의 관계에 대한 연구)

  • As the digital informatization society deepens, the digital divide of the information - underprivileged becomes increasingly serious social problem. In this study, we analyzed the relationship between digital informatization capacity and satisfaction level of leisure activity in low - income class. For the analysis, we analyzed the relationship between digital informatization level and leisure satisfaction level of the low income class based on the results of the digital information gap survey in 2017. As a result, it was found that there was a positive relationship between digital access and leisure activity satisfaction, such as having a wired / wireless information device at low socioeconomic level and availability of Internet access at all times. Second, digital information capacity level and leisure satisfaction level such as PC usage ability and mobile digital device utilization ability have positive (+) relationship. Third, the level of digital information utilization, such as the use of fixed and mobile Internet, also showed a positive (+) relationship with the leisure satisfaction level of the low income class. This suggests that it is necessary to provide various supports to resolve the digital divide between the low income class and the general public.

Variation of Image Quality and Dose by Applying Multi-Leaf Collimator for Digital Mammography (디지털 유방촬영장치에서 다엽 조리개 적용으로 인한 화질과 선량의 변화)

  • Collimator has important functions with control primary X-ray that decrease radiation exposure dose for patients and reduce scatter ray and make better quality of image. But there are no regulations for X-ray mammography device of collimator, so widely used device adopt rectangularly controlled collimator. Though digital X-ray mammography device expand supply recently, rectangularly controlled collimator of film/screen mode still used. After searching for real condition of beam field with digital mammography, we made a multi-leaf collimator which is able to adjust the beam field in accordance with size and shape of breast, and we measuring up the transitions of image quality, average glandular dose(AGD) and, Dose area product(DAP). There are no significant differences between rectangularly controlled collimator and multi-leaf collimator, and DAP value decreased by 50.72%. As conclusion, there needs to expand the use of multi-leaf collimator for optimum adoption of beam field in digital mammography, and also need to develop an automatic regulation of beam field for reduce of exposure dose to patients.

  • This paper introduces design and implementation of digital photo kiosk system, digital photo printing system, with auto color correction module that considers gamut between touch screen and output device, digital photo printer, to provide user-preferred media. This module performs media correction function to service high quality contents for image captured by digital camera and mobile phone camera. Since it is implemented as LUT for real-time processing, the system offers one-touch interface to user. As a result of implementation, this kiosk system provides user-favorite photo because of black and white mode, sepia mode, and brightness and contrast adjustment. Also it can gives smooth tone transition and photos of similar color to captured image due to auto color correction module.

The Effects of Digital Consumption Trust and Corporate Trust on IT Device and Service Satisfaction

  • Recently, trust in online transactions and corporate trust are most important at the corporate level as social overhead capital in commercial transactions using digital devices such as online, mobile, and SNS platforms. Therefore, this study used data from the Korea Consumer Agency's consumer policy indicators to identify the impact of digital consumption trust and corporate responsibility trust on the satisfaction of information and communication products and services. According to the analysis, trust in digital consumption conditions and responsibility of companies have a positive impact on satisfaction of information and communication devices and satisfaction of information and communication services. In addition, it was found that trust in corporate responsibility has a greater impact on satisfaction of information and communication devices and satisfaction of information and communication services than trust in digital consumption conditions. Theoretical and practical implications for these findings and suggestions for future research were presented.

  • A new time-to-digital converter is proposed which is based on a capacitor and a counter. The conventional time-to-digital converter requires rather longer processing time than the input time interval to obtain an accurate digital output. The resolution of the converted digital output is constant independent on the input time interval. However this study proposes the circuit in which the converted digital output can be obtained without delay time, and both the input time interval and the resolution can be easily improved through controlling passive device parameters.

  • The digital HPTV velocity field measurement consists of four steps: recording, numerical reconstruction, particle extraction and velocity extraction. In the velocity extraction process, we improved PTV algorithm to extract the displacement of particle each placed in 3D space. Because a digital recording device was used, some factors such as a spatial resolution, numerical aperture, and particle concentration can affect the performance of the digital HPTV. Especially, a particle concentration ($C_{o}$) affected tile reconstruction efficiency in numerical reconstruction and particle extraction process. In this paper, the reconstruction efficiency was analyzed experimentally with different particle concentration. Optimal reconstruction efficiency was shown in the range of $C_{o}$=$13\∼15$ particles/$mm^{3}$.

  • In this paper, the boost converter was implemented by digital control in many applications of the step-up. The PWM(pulse width modulation) control module of boost converter was digitized at power converter using the FPGA device and VHDL. The boost converter was designed to output a fixed voltage through the PI control algorithm of the PWM control module even if input voltage and output load are variable. The boost converter was digitized can be simplified by reducing the size of the module and the external control components. Thus, the digital power IC has advantageous for weight reduction and miniaturization of electronic products because it can be controlled remotely by setting the desired output voltage and PWM control module. The boost converter using the digital power IC was confirmed through experiments and the good performances were showed from experiment results.
