  • A digital $(k_0,\;k_1)$-homotopy is induced from digital $(k_0,\;k_1)$-continuity with the n kinds of $k_i$-adjacency relations in ${\mathbb{Z}}^n$, $i{\in}\{0,\;1\}$. The k-fundamental group, ${\pi}^k_1(X,\;x_0)$, is derived from the pointed digital k-homotopy, $k{\in}\{3^n-1(n{\geq}2),\;3^n-{\sum}^{r-2}_{k=0}C^n_k2^{n-k}-1(2{\leq}r{\leq}n-1(n{\geq}3)),\;2n(n{\geq}1)\}$. In this paper two kinds of digital 8-pseudotori stemmed from the minimal simple closed 4-curve and the minimal simple closed 8-curve with 8-contractibility or without 8-contractibility, e.g., $DT_8$ and $DT^{\prime}_8$, are introduced and their digital topological properties are studied by the calculation of the k-fundamental groups, $k{\in}\{8,\;32,\;64,\;80\}$.

  • To study product properties of digital spaces, we strongly need to formulate meaningful adjacency relations on digital products. Thus the paper [7] firstly developed a normal adjacency relation on a digital product which can play an important role in studying the multiplicative property of a digital fundamental group, and product properties of digital coverings and digitally continuous maps. The present paper mainly surveys the normal adjacency relation on a digital product, improves the assertion of Boxer and Karaca in the paper [4] and restates Theorem 6.4 of the paper [19].

  • Web 3.0 enables people and machines to connect, evolve, share, and use knowledge on an unprecedented scale and in new ways, drastically improving our Internet experience. The metaverse is a collective, virtual shared space supporting all digital activities. Prompted by the rapid growth of digital art and digital fashion, this theoretical analysis explores using Jean Baudrillard's simulation concept to create unique digital art non-fungible tokens (NFTs), allowing them to express and communicate ideas like real-world art. Specifically, this study analyzes 120 digital fashion portraits of humans and animals and classifies them under three types of simulacra covering four stages of Baudrillard's simulation process. The result shows that NFT fashion artworks reflect the core features of a digital reality by connecting and transcending the boundaries of cultures, genders, and nationalities. However, in the final simulation stage (the fourth step), the simulacrum can only coexist in the virtual world as a hyperreal object (the Type III of simulacrum): an object more real than reality.

  • To study a deformation of a digital space from the viewpoint of digital homotopy theory, we have often used the notions of a weak k-deformation retract [20] and a strong k-deformation retract [10, 12, 13]. Thus the papers [10, 12, 13, 16] firstly developed the notion of a strong k-deformation retract which can play an important role in studying a homotopic thinning of a digital space. Besides, the paper [3] deals with a k-deformation retract and its homotopic property related to a digital fundamental group. Thus, as a survey article, comparing among a k-deformation retract in [3], a strong k-deformation retract in [10, 12, 13], a weak deformation k-retract in [20] and a digital k-homotopy equivalence [5, 24], we observe some relationships among them from the viewpoint of digital homotopy theory. Furthermore, the present paper deals with some parts of the preprint [10] which were not published in a journal (see Proposition 3.1). Finally, the present paper corrects Boxer's paper [3] as follows: even though the paper [3] referred to the notion of a digital homotopy equivalence (or a same k-homotopy type) which is a special kind of a k-deformation retract, we need to point out that the notion was already developed in [5] instead of [3] and further corrects the proof of Theorem 4.5 of Boxer's paper [3] (see the proof of Theorem 4.1 in the present paper). While the paper [4] refers some properties of a deck transformation group (or an automorphism group) of digital covering space without any citation, the study was early done by Han in his paper (see the paper [14]).

  • The first Marine Observation Satellite(MOS) was launched by National Space Development Agency of Japan on February 19, 1987, and it is equipped with three sensons covering visible, infrared, and microwave region. One of them is Visible and Thermal Infrared Radiometer(VTIR) whose main objective is to detect the Sea Surface Temperature(SST). The objective of this study was to process the MOS data using Cray-2 supercomputer, and to assess the SST in the Yellow Sea. In order to implement this objective, the linear regression model between the ground truth data and the corresponding digital number of VTIR in MOS was used to establish the relationship. After testing the significance of the regression model, the SST map of the whole Yellow Sea was derived based on the model. The digital SST map representing the study area showed certain pattern about the SST of Yellow Sea in March and April. In conclusion, the VTIR data in MOS is also useful in investigating SST which provides the information about the Yellow Sea water current in the spring.

  • Electro-Optical Camera(EOC) is the main payload of Korea Multi-Purpose SATellite(KOMPSAT) with the mission of cartography to build up a digital map of Korean territory including Digital Terrain Elevation Map(DTEM). This instrument which comprises EOC Sensor Assembly and EOC Electronics Assembly produces the panchromatic images of 6.6 m GSD with a swath wider than 17 km by push-broom scanning and spacecraft body pointing in a visible range of wavelength, 510 ~ 730 nm. The high resolution panchromatic image is to be collected for 2 minutes during 98 minutes of orbit cycle covering about 800 km along ground track, over the mission lifetime of 3 years with the functions of programmable rain/offset and on-board image data storage. The image of 8 bit digitization, which is collected by a full reflective type F8.3 triplet without obscuration, is to be transmitted to Ground Station at a rate less than 25 Mbps. EOC was elaborated to have the performance which meets or surpasses its requirements of design phase. The spectral response the modulation transfer function, and the uniformity of all the 2592 pixel of CCD of EOC are illustrated as they were measured for the convenience of end-user. The spectral response was measured with respect to each gain setup of EOC and this is expected to give the capability of generating more accurate panchromatic image to the EOC data users. The modulation transfer function of EOC was measured as greater than 16% at Nyquist frequency over the entire field of view which exceeds its requirement of larger than 10%, The uniformity that shows the relative response of each pixel of CCD was measured at every pixel of the Focal Plane Array of EOC and is illustrated for the data processing.

  • We present a new catalog of galaxies in the wider region of the Virgo cluster, based on the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7. The Extended Virgo Cluster Catalog (EVCC) covers an area of 725 deg2 or 60.1 Mpc2. It is 5.2 times larger than the footprint of the classical Virgo Cluster Catalog (VCC) and reaches out to 3.5 times the virial radius of the Virgo cluster. We selected 1324 spectroscopically targeted galaxies with radial velocities less than 3000 km s-1. In addition, 265 galaxies that have been missed in the SDSS spectroscopic survey but have available redshifts in the NASA Extragalactic Database are also included. Our selection process secured a total of 1589 galaxies of which 676 galaxies are not included in the VCC. The certain and possible cluster members are defined by means of redshift comparison with a cluster infall model. We employed two independent and complementary galaxy classification schemes: the traditional morphological classification based on the visual inspection of optical images and a characterization of galaxies from their spectroscopic features. SDSS u, g, r, i, and z passband photometry of all EVCC galaxies was performed using Source Extractor. We compare the EVCC galaxies with the VCC in terms of morphology, spatial distribution, and luminosity function. The EVCC defines a comprehensive galaxy sample covering a wider range in galaxy density that is significantly different from the inner region of the Virgo cluster. It will be the foundation for forthcoming galaxy evolution studies in the extended Virgo cluster region, complementing ongoing and planned Virgo cluster surveys at various wavelengths.

  • Nearby galaxy clusters and their surrounding regions represent the current endpoint of evolution galaxy cluster evolution. We present a new catalog of 1589 galaxies, what we call Extended Virgo Cluster Catalog (EVCC), in wider area of the Virgo cluster based on the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7. The EVCC covers an area 5.2 times larger than the footprint of the classical Virgo Cluster Catalog, and reaches out to 3.5 times the virial radius of the Virgo cluster. The EVCC contains fundamental information such as membership, morphology, and photometric parameters of galaxies. We also present the large scale structures in the field around the Virgo cluster. We identified seven galaxy filaments and one possible sheet in three dimensions of super-galactic coordinates based on the HyperLEDA database. By examining spatial distribution and Hubble diagram of galaxies, we found that six filaments are directly associated with the main body of the Virgo cluster. On the other hand, one filament and one sheet are structures located at background of the main body of Virgo cluster. The EVCC and the filament structures will be the foundation for forthcoming studies of galaxy evolution in various environments as well as buildup of the galaxy cluster at z ~ 0, complementing ongoing and planned Virgo cluster surveys at various wavelengths.

  • The purpose of this study is to seek the change of body surface according to cycling motions and to give suggestions to the pattern and spare space between body and wear in each bodily parts to be heavily considered for making the bicycle wear. The cycling motions were analyzed by taking the sequential pictures of cycling covering motion by a digital camera. The experiments with gypsum were toward a woman in her twenties. We draw the line standard of the body's surface, separated their gypsum-replicated fragments of body's surface following the analyses of the change in their lengths. As the motions were made, we decided the degree of the changed length as spare space when compared the erected posture with the cycling posture, presenting the pattern of the cycling wear with the preparation of wears for testing. After that, the essential experiments were conducted toward three cycle players wore our experimental wears. Regards their evaluated appearance, evaluations over three points were obtained from all parameters except the width of front armhole. Accordingly, our experimental wears were remarkably understood as a relatively proper wear as bicycle wear.
