  • Why illegal digital contents sharing happens? This study pays attention to the fact that file sharing is an exchanging behavior between people and it is expanding despite of an illegal behavior and proposes that it is necessary for the phenomenon to be understood from social cultural point of view beyond a personal dimension. Based on the social exchange theory, this study demonstrates effects of file sharing attitudes and continuity, regarding 'group norm', 'popular demand', 'reciprocity' and 'social solidarity' as main factors. The main findings of this study are as followed;- First, it is shown that a tacit agreement of a group on file sharing is a determinant of positive attitude to file sharing and the intent of continual file sharing. Second, it is not found that the social relationship factors that are regarded as potential influential factors on file sharing attitude have effects on file sharing behavior, except for 'group norm'. Unlike previous studies, the results may come from the fact that this study deals with an illegal behavior. The third finding indicates a structural relationship between social relationship factors. When members of a group have more amicable attitude to file sharing including silence or a tacit agreement on file sharing, more people ask illegal sharing of files that they need. Such public demand creates expectation of reciprocity. As reciprocity maintains, social connectedness is strengthened. Then, strong social connectedness escalates the intent to maintain file sharing. It is important to notice that this study promotes understanding of how digital contents sharing happens by structuring and demonstrating influential relationship between characteristic factors of the social relationship.

  • The cloud computing is technology which gives flexible and solid infrastructure to IT environment. With this technology multiple computing environment can be consolidated in to a single server so that maximize system resource utilization. Better processing power can be achieved with less system resource. IT manager can cope with increasing unnecessary cost for additional server and management cost as well. This means a enterprise is able to provide services with better quality and create new services with surplus resource. The time required for recovery from system failure will be reduced from days to minutes. Enhanced availability and continuity of enterprise business minimize the codt and the risk produced by service discontinuity. In this paper, we propose framework architecture that is strong against denial-of-service attack.

  • The video-based system of the broadcasters and the video-related institutions have shifted from analogical to digital in worldwide. This migration process can generate a defect, digital dropout, in the quality of the contents. Moreover, there are limited researches focused on these kind of defects and those related have limitations. For that reason, we are proposing a new method for feature extraction emphasizing in the peculiar block pattern of digital dropout based on discrete cosine transform (DCT). For classification of error block, we utilize support vector machine (SVM) which can manage feature vectors efficiently. Further, the proposed method overcome the limitation of the previous one using continuity of frame by frame. It is using only the information of a single frame and works better even in the presence of fast moving objects, without the necessity of specific model or parameter estimation. Therefore, this approach is capable of detecting digital dropout only with minimal complexity.

  • The configuration analysis for the image appeared in the storyboard as the 1st stage to change the scenario to the image expressed the visual phenomenon image starting from the literalism. The simultaneity of description on the interpretative level of the narrative description may describe various information multiple simultaneously, the relationship has been presented as a lot of these information has been weaved as one episode. The incident time of narrative description as the scene described mainly objectively and illustratively has been used usefully to present the accurate information for characters or incidents. The time series of narrative description appeared as one episode by expressing various spaces or images under the continuity of flow according to the time. The collision image seen from the angle of internal ignition played a role to create the meaning colliding into each other or interconnecting symbolic effects appeared as respectively fragmented image, the continuity of space played a role of expressing the different symbol when the image of completely different space is connected to one context, the continuity of time as well makes a different symbolism by interpreting symbols appeared as each images under the flow of time. These results show that the narrative description may be expressed in accordance with the narrative structure from the viewpoints of narrative description, but the internal ignition may be interpreted through the cultural and periodical background widely known in those years based on the experience and information capability the audiences are keeping not by any descriptive structure. Images appeared in the internal ignition appeared by colliding into each other or amplifying mutually no related scenes and revealing the overall symbolism by reinterpreting again.

  • Along with the spotlight of storytelling, storydoing has attracted public's attention as it has been utilized in various different areas. There are valued message by producer and story to back it up in the storydoing. Recipient will acknowledge the affordance encouraged by producer and confirm the message by practicing it. Finally producer will evaluate the practice process. Therefore, storydoing promotes the product of company, strengthens the brand image and delivers message and value through a previously mentioned cycle. Ultimately, storydoing is operated based on user's experience. In this study, based on the experience theory of John Dewey, in order to discover how the interactivity and continuity operate story doing, we conducted a study on the concept of storydoing, the national and international story doing status, the difference between storytelling and storydoing, the elements of story doing, the relationship with user experience, and the principle of operating story doing. As a result, we learned that story doing had the five elements of message, story, characters, action, and confirmation, and operated by the interaction and continuity between the producer and receptor. Thus, through this research to understand the nature of storydoing, we have identified new trends of the cultural industries and discovered the possibilities to expand the application scope of storydoing, which was currently applied by companies to promote their brand images, onto contents field. More importantly, the proposal of theoretical differences between storytelling and storydoing makes this report meaningful in terms of sociocultural, industrial and academic aspect.

  • Let $\mathbb{Z}^n$ be the Cartesian product of the set of integers $\mathbb{Z}$ and let ($\mathbb{Z}$, T) and ($\mathbb{Z}^n$, $T^n$) be the Khalimsky line topology on $\mathbb{Z}$ and the Khalimsky product topology on $\mathbb{Z}^n$, respectively. Then for a set $X\;{\subset}\;\mathbb{Z}^n$, consider the subspace (X, $T^n_X$) induced from ($\mathbb{Z}^n$, $T^n$). Considering a k-adjacency on (X, $T^n_X$), we call it a (computer topological) space with k-adjacency and use the notation (X, k, $T^n_X$) := $X_{n,k}$. In this paper we introduce the notions of KD-($k_0$, $k_1$)-homotopy equivalence and KD-k-deformation retract and investigate a classification of (computer topological) spaces $X_{n,k}$ in terms of a KD-($k_0$, $k_1$)-homotopy equivalence.

  • In this paper, we proposed a method for extracting predominant melody of polyphonic music based on harmonic structure. Harmonic structure is an important feature parameter of monophonic signal that has spectral peaks at the integer multiples of its fundamental frequency. We extract all fundamental frequency candidates contained in the polyphonic signal by verifying the required condition of harmonic structure. Then, we combine those harmonic peaks corresponding to each extracted fundamental frequency and assign a rank to each after calculating its harmonic average energy. We run pitch tracking based on the rank of extracted fundamental frequency and continuity of fundamental frequency, and determine the predominant melody. For the query by singing/humming (QbSH) task, we proposed Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) based matching engine. Our system reduces false alarm by combining the distances of multiple DTW processes. To improve the performance, we introduced the asymmetric sense, pitch level compensation, and distance intransitiveness to DTW algorithm.

  • To improve the separation performance of time-frequency overlapped radar and communication signals from a single channel, this paper proposes an effective separation method based on an improved empirical wavelet transform (EWT) that introduces a fast boundary detection mechanism. The fast boundary detection mechanism can be regarded as a process of searching, difference optimization, and continuity detection of the important local minima in the Fourier spectrum that enables determination of the sub-band boundary and thus allows multiple signal components to be distinguished. An orthogonal empirical wavelet filter bank that was designed for signal adaptive reconstruction is then used to separate the input time-frequency overlapped signals. The experimental results show that if two source components are completely overlapped within the time domain and the spectrum overlap ratio is less than 60%, the average separation performance is improved by approximately 32.3% when compared with the classic EWT; the proposed method also improves the suitability for multiple frequency shift keying (MFSK) and reduces the algorithm complexity.
