  • Aerial photo process with digital camera has some benefits. It is fast and simple by digital way in comparison with aerial photo based on film. Also it works with GPS/INS device to do direct geo-referencing, In this study, AT result from using direct exterior factors, exterior factors extracting from GPS/INS data and digital map and GCP is produced. In base on it, ortho images are produced and compared with surveying data.

  • All around tile world there has been great human and economical damage continuously by disasters like the earthquakes and storms(Tsunami) in eastern asia which recently occurred, and like the New Orleams hurricane in USA. The situation is our countries damage from natural disasters due to heavy snow, storms, forest fires have been increasing In this research we obtained GSIS data of the 05' Yang-yang forest fire disaster area using multi-sensors like airborne laser data, GPS/INS, aerial photograph surveying. In result we produced digital topographical maps, digital elevation models, digital external models, digital images, infrared images. By, analyzing and comparing with past aerial photography we obtained the exact damage area, amount of damage, estimated tile areas where a landslide might occur, and we analyzed vegetations amount of damage and possibility of recovery.

  • The quality of orthoimages mainly depends on the elevation information and exterior orientation (EO) parameters. Since LiDAR data directly provides the elevation information over the earth's surface including buildings and trees, the concept of true orthorectification has been rapidly developed and implemented. If a LiDAR-driven digital surface model (DSM) is used for orthorectification, the displacements caused by trees and buildings are effectively removed when compared with the conventional orthoimages processed with a digital elevation model (DEM). This study utilized LiDAR data to generate orthorectified digital aerial images. Experimental orthoimages were produced using digital terrain model (DTM) and DSM. For the preparation of orthorectification, EO components, one of the inputs for orthorectification, were adjusted with the ground control points (GCPs) collected from the LiDAR point data, and the ground points were extracted by a filtering method used in a previous research. The orthoimage generated by DSM corresponded more closely to non-ground LiDAR points than the orthoimage produced by DTM.

  • The research for extracting man-made features such as building and road from the aerial photograph or satellite imagery has been performed actively. As lately the resolution of digital aerial photographs was improved, unwanted features(noise) would be often detected. An edge detection algorithm is developed to make up for such a noise problem, make boundaries of wanted objects clear and extract only needed features. The algorithm developed in this research performs separating RGB channels, differencing between channels, transforming in to binary images, excluding noises and restoring shapes, and edge extraction in order. The images to be used for edge detection are prepared through bundle adjustment, DTM extraction, orthorectification and mosaicking. The roof edges of small building on preprocessed digital aerial orthophotos were extracted using the algorithm developed in this study. The validity of the algorithms was proved by comparing edge results of small building extracted in this study with those of conventional methods.

  • Recently, much demand of vector data have increased rapidly such as a digital map instead of traditional a paper map and the raster data such as a high-resolution orthoimage have been used for many GIS application with the advent of industrial high-resolution satellites and development of aerial optical sensor technologies. Aerial photogrammetric technologies using an airship can offer cost-effective and high-resolution color images as well as real time images, different from conventional remote sensing measurements. Also, it can acquire images easily and its processing procedure is short and simple relatively. On the other hand, it has often been used for the production of a small-scale land use map not required high accuracy, monitoring of linear infrastructure features through mosaicking strip images and construction of GIS data. Through this study, the developed aerial photogrammetric system using the airship expects to be applied to not only producing of scale 1:5, 000 digital map but also verifying, editing, and updating the digital map which was need to be reproduced. Further more, providing the various type of video-images, it expects to use many other GIS applications such as facilities management, scenery management and construction of GIS data for Urban area.

  • A LiDAR technique has the merits that survey engineers can get a large number of measurements with high precision quickly. Aerial photos and satellite sensor images are used for generating 3D spatial images which are matched with the map coordinates and elevation data from digital topographic files. Also, those images are used for matching with 3D spatial image contents through perspective view condition composed along to the designated roads until arrival the corresponding location. Recently, 3D aviation image could be generated by various digital data. The advanced geographical methods for guidance of the destination road are experimented under the GIS environments. More information and access designated are guided by the multimedia contents on internet or from the public tour information desk using the simulation images. The height data based on LiDAR is transformed into DEM, and the real time unification of the vector via digital image mapping and raster via extract evaluation are transformed to trace the generated model of 3-dimensional downtown building along to the long distance for 3D tract model generation.

  • Thispapr proposes hybrid navigation parameter estimation using sequential aerial images. The proposed navigation parameter estimation system is composed of two parts: relative position estimation and absolute position estimation. the relative position estimation recursively computes the current velocity and absolute position estimation. The relative position estimation recursively computes the current velocity and position of an aircraft by accumulating navigation parameters extracted from two succesive aerial images. Simple accumulation of parameter values decreases reliability of the extracted parameters as an aircraft goes on navigating. therefore absolute position estimation is required to compensate for position error generated in the relative position step. The absolute position estimation algorithm combining image matching and digital elevation model(DEM) matching is presented. Computer simulation with real aerial image sequences shows the efficiency of the proposed hybrial algorithm.

  • The subjects of this study are to examine and to apply the methods of making 1:5,000 scale maps using 1m resolution stereo images of IKONOS for the Munsan area of Paju-city where aerial photo surveying cannot possible because of security conditions. GCP(Ground Control Point) were acquired from GPS surveying and were to perform geometric corrections on images. Digital Map used IKONOS stereo images and it worked from the digital analytical stereoplotter. From field investigation, RMSE errors of the plane and vertical positions are estimated to 1.706m and 1.231m, respectively. The plane accuracy is better than an accuracy required by NGIS (national GIS) programs. Local information from field investigation was added and the resulting maps should be good as digital map under the scale of 1/5,000.

  • The study aims to propose a method that shall rapidly acquire 3D spatial information of the frequently changing city areas by using the low altitude aerial images taken by the UAV. The artificial 3D model of the artificial structures was constructed using the aerial image data photographed at the test area, calibration data of the non-metric camera and the results of the ground control point survey. Also, the digital surface model was created for areas that were changed due to a number of civil works. Through the above studies, the possibilities of constructing a 3D virtual city model, renewal of 3D GIS database, abstraction of changed information in geographic features and on-demand updating of the digital map were suggested.
