제 7차 수학과 교육과정의 초등학교 현장적용에서 나타나는 문제점 및 개선방향 (Difficulties and Issues in Applying the 7th Mathematics Curriculum to Elementary School Classrooms)

  • This paper is to make strides toward an enriched understanding of the difficulties and issues raised by applying the 7th mathematics curriculum to elementary school classrooms. A general overview of the curriculum is presented in line with teaching and learning methods emphasized in the curriculum. Four classroom episodes are presented in brief in order to diagnose the problems in situating the curriculum in elementary mathematics classrooms. These episodes deal with lessons emphasizing activity rather than its associated concepts or principles, overusing multimedia data, pursuing play rather than its associated thinking, and distributing various individual worksheets in the name of differentiated instructional methods. In addition to the episodes, interview data with elementary school teachers also are presented as needed. This paper discusses two aspects of activating the curriculum into elementary mathematics classrooms. One deals with the issues of the curriculum and textbooks themselves, and the other covers those of research trends on mathematics education and teaching practices. This paper finally emphasizes a collaborative working relation among classroom teachers, mathematics educators, and policy makers with their own places and roles.

  • The world is changing so rapidly and being globalized and competitive. Also, food service companies in Korea have been making a speedy growth. In order that food service companies ran take long-term viability, they should introduce the market-orientation concept. Because market-orientation requires to investigate the factors of ever-diversified market environment on a regular basis, they can build up more detailed, practical and differentiated strategies than before. Thus, this study aimed to establish that the strategy of competitive edges based on the concepts could yield excellent marketing performance.

간호대학생의 조직사회화에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Organizational Socialization in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study investigates the influence of education satisfaction, communication competence, and group cohesion on organizational socialization in nursing students. Method: The subjects were 175 third year nursing students. Data were collected from June 3 to 14, 2013 through a self-reporting questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by multiple regression using the SPSSWIN 21.0 program. Results: The organizational socialization score of nursing students averaged 3.79 points (5 Likert scale). Practice education satisfaction, communication competence and group cohesion of nursing students influenced organizational socialization ($R^2$ 52.5%, F=49.051, p<.001). Conclusion: For nursing students, practice education satisfaction, communication competence and group cohesion are significant variables for organizational socialization. Thus, in order to enhance the organizational socialization of nursing students, there is a need to develop a differentiated practicum curriculum that considers nursing student demands in collaboration with nursing faculty and administrators on the basis of education programs, including concepts of communication competence and group cohesion.

다면적·위계적 모델을 중심으로 본 초·중학생들의 자아개념 구조 분석 (Structure of the Self-Concept of Korean Primary and Secondary School Students : Analysis by Multidimensional Hierarchical Model)

  • This study investigated the self-concepts of Korean students based on Marsh and Shavelson's(1985) multidimensional hierarchical model. Reduced forms of the Self-Description Questionnaire(SDQ)-I and -II were administered to 308 5th and 6th grade students and 718 7th to 9th grade students. Results of 2 factor analyses indicated that sub-scales 9 and 11 were well established for SDQ-I and -II, respectively, partly confirming the multidimensionality of self-concept. The factors involving distinctions between academic and non-academic higher-order factors and between the academic/math and the academic/verbal factors were not so differentiated nor hierarchically arranged as proposed by the model. These differences may be attributed to the heavy influence of the academic self-concept on the other sub-factors. A Locality ${\times}$ Sex ${\times}$ Grade ANOVA showed main effects of locality favoring urban areas and of sex favoring boys.

제 7차 교육과정에 따른 수학 교과서의 이해: 초등학교를 중심으로 (Understanding Mathematics Textbook Based on the Seventh School Curriculum)

  • There has been much concern and worry about executing school curriculum from the year 2000 because the seventh curriculum is based on the complicated' differentiated education' concept. Now the new textbook has been developed according to the curriculum. This paper will reinforce the understanding of the curriculum and textbook in school math. In order to do this, this paper will present questions on three subjects to help school teachers and people related to math education to probe and discuss the benefits and problems of teaching math using the new textbook. The three subjects are based on the contents included in certain chapters of the math textbook. These are 1) understanding mathematics concepts using manipulatives or concrete objects, 2) doing math projects or problem solving activities 3) learning mathematics using calculators. furthermore, it is emphasized in this paper that math teachers must keep in mind that they should execute instruction in their own way using the 'textbook' not as a bible but as a guideline.

Stem Cells and Cell-Cell Communication in the Understanding of the Role of Diet and Nutrients in Human Diseases

  • The term, "food safety", has traditionally been viewed as a practical science aimed at assuring the prevention acute illnesses caused by biological microorganisms, and only to a minor extent, chronic diseases cause by chronic low level exposures to natural and synthetic chemicals or pollutants. "food safety" meant to prevent microbiological agents/toxins in/on foods, due to contamination any where from "farm to Fork", from causing acute health effects, especially to the young, immune-compromised, genetically-predisposed and elderly. However, today a broader view must also include the fact that diet, perse (nutrients, vitamins/minerals, calories), as well as low level toxins and pollutant or supplemented synthetic chemicals, can alter gene expressions of stem/progenitor/terminally-differentiated cells, leading to chronic inflammation and other mal-functions that could lead to diseases such as cancer, diabetes, atherogenesis and possibly reproductive and neurological disorders. Understanding of the mechanisms by which natural or synthetic chemical toxins/toxicants, in/on food, interact with the pathogenesis of acute and chronic diseases, should lead to a "systems" approach to "food safety". Clearly, the interactions of diet/food with the genetic background, gender, and developmental state of the individual, together with (a) interactions of other endogenous/exogenous chemicals/drugs; (b) the specific biology of the cells being affected; (c) the mechanisms by which the presence or absence of toxins/toxicants and nutrients work to cause toxicities; and (d) how those mechanisms affect the pathogenesis of acute and/or chronic diseases, must be integrated into a "system" approach. Mechanisms of how toxins/toxicants cause cellular toxicities, such as mutagenesis; cytotoxicity and altered gene expression, must take into account (a) irreversible or reversal changes caused by these toxins or toxicants; (b)concepts of thresholds or no-thresholds of action; and (c) concepts of differential effects on stem cells, progenitor cells and terminally differentiated cells in different organs. This brief Commentary tries to illustrate this complex interaction between what is on/in foods with one disease, namely cancer. Since the understanding of cancer, while still incomplete, can shed light on the multiple ways that toxins/toxicants, as well as dietary modulation of nutrients/vitamins/metals/ calories, can either enhance or reduce the risk to cancer. In particular, diets that alter the embryo-fetal micro-environment might dramatically alter disease formation later in life. In effect "food safety" can not be assessed without understanding how food could be 'toxic', or how that mechanism of toxicity interacts with the pathogenesis of any disease.

한국 해양경찰복제 디자인 연구 (A Study on a Design for the Korean Coast Guard Uniform)

  • As a follow-up of a study on design strategies to improve Korea's Korean coast guarduniforms, this study set out to propose Korean coast guard uniforms of a new concept that would meet the changing needs of the times and match the advanced technology and work environments. Three concepts of classical, nautical and techno chic were identified from the design strategies of the previous study. Using the results from a prototype show and preference survey, the investigator divided items into design, color, material, and detail and reflects demands for each of them. As a result, design was examined in four aspects of identity, acknowledgement, unity, and practicality and focused its improvement factors on design differentiated from other organizations' uniforms including ground police, segmentation of size system, adjustment of the length of upper garment to consider activity, and changes to the lines and silhouette to give out a modern image. As for color, the focus was placed on differentiated colors from other organizations' uniforms including ground police through dark blue and ocean color, change toward colors that reflect environmental characteristics, and unity in colors between the summer and winter uniform. As for material, the focus of improvement was put on elasticity, resistance against contamination, warmth retention, texture, wearing sensation, and functionality by taking into account convenience for field workers on coast guard vessels and branch offices who have much time in contact with ocean environments in order to make the materials high-grade. As for detail, structural details were added to give out a modern image such as changing the detail lines, efficiency of storage space, buttons, sleeve hems, ironing lines, and neck collars by taking into account environmental characteristics. The significance of the study lies in that it proposed a development model for large-scale uniform copy design by establishing copy design that secures functionality and is proper for an organization's social and cultural environment.

과학사에 근거한 진화개념검사도구의 타당도 확인 및 맥락에 따른 진화개념 발달 탐색 (Examining the Validity of History-of-Science-Based Evolution Concept Assessment and Exploring Conceptual Progressions by Contexts)

  • 학생들의 진화에 대한 대안개념(목적론, 용불용설 등)이 과학사에서 나타나는 설명의 발전 형태와 유사하다는 연구는 있었다. 하지만 과학사적으로 설명의 발달과정을 반영하여 부분점수를 주는 평가방식은 활용되지 않았다. 이 연구의 목적은 창조론에서 자연선택까지 과학사적 발달과정을 반영하여 부분점수를 주는 방법을 제안하고 이 방법이 타당한지에 대한 양적인 증거를 수집하는 것이다. 이 연구는 과학사에 근거하여 진화개념검사도구의 학생응답을 순위선다형점수로 변환하고 부분채점모형의 라쉬모델분석을 포함한 통계적 방법으로 새로운 평가방식이 타당한지 확인하였다. 또한 개념발달이 인간, 동물, 문항의 상황에 따라 다른지 확인하였다. Ha(2007)가 개발한 검사도구를 활용하여 1711명의 초, 중, 고등학생과 비전공, 전공생물 교사를 대상으로 생성한 자료를 통하여 분석하였다. 창조론, 목적, 의도, 용불용설, 자연선택에 0점에서 4점씩 부분점수로 제시한 평가방법은 Cronbach alpha를 통한 내적일관성 신뢰도, 라쉬분석의 MNSQ값 등 통한 문항적합도를 확인한 결과 타당한 것으로 확인되었다. 초등학생과 중학생들의 개념수준은 의도에서 용불용설 단계에, 고등학생부터 용불용설 이후의 단계로 개념발달이 이루어지고 있었다. 진화설명의 발달 과정은 인간, 동물, 식물에 따라 차이가 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 연구는 과학사와 학생들의 개념발달이 유사하다는 기존의 주장에 새로운 양적증거를 추가하고, 진화개념 평가를 위한 새로운 분석방법을 제안한다.

근대 전환기 한국 '工藝(공예)' 용어의 쓰임과 의미 변화에 대한 고찰 (A Literary Study on the Changes in the Meaning of Gongye During Korea's Transition to the Modern Era)

  • 이 글에서는 근대 전환기 한국에서 '工藝(공예)'라는 용어의 의미가 변화하는 과정을 문헌을 통해 고찰한다. 근대이전의 용례는 『조선왕조실록』을 중심으로, 개항 후 중국과 일본을 통해 번역됐을 때 달라지는 각각의 의미는 1882년 조선과 미국이 체결한 조미수호통상조약을 중심으로 살펴본다. 그 외에 『승정원일기』, 『각사등록』 등의 사료와 통감부 문서(1904~1910년), 주한일본공사관 기록(1894~1908년), 1910년 이전에 발간된 잡지와 신문을 대상으로 '공예'라는 용어가 어떻게 쓰였고 변화하게 되었는지를 검토하였다. '공예'의 의미는 개항 이후 각기 다른 분야의 사람들이 종사하는 일·직분이라는 넓은 범위에서 제조업·공업과 같은 산업의 한 분야를 나타내는 범위로 좁혀진다. 새로운 의미로 쓰인 '공예'라는 단어는 동아시아 국가 중에 가장 먼저 근대화에 성공한 일본을 본받아 서구의 문물을 수용하고 산업을 일으키자는 문맥에서 주로 사용되었다. 개항과 더불어 산업화가 국가적 과제로 부상하면서 새로운 개념을 표현할 용어가 필요해지자 일본이 서양의 개념을 번역하여 조어한 한자어를 기표 그대로 수입하여 사용하기 시작한 것이다. '공예'는 '공업'과 서로 비슷한 의미를 가지고 혼용되었다. 그러나 한일합병 후 총독부의 문화정책을 통해 미술로서의 개념이 부여되면서 '공예'는 공업으로부터 분화하게 된다. 이와 같이 용어와 개념의 성립을 살펴보는 작업은 한국 공예가 안고 있는 문제를 이해하고 해결하기 위한 기초가 될 수 있을 것이다.

모듈화(Modularity) 개념이 적용된 가구디자인 연구 - 프랙탈 개념을 중심으로 - (A Study on Modularity Concepts of Furniture Design - Focus on Fractal Concepts -)

  • Modular furniture's colors, materials, finishing materials and quantities are determined by users' tastes and it's diverse functions, shapes and sizes are determined by the spaces of users. That is, modules satisfy the diversity of consumers, meet differentiated individuals' tastes and enable communications with consumers rather than delivering one-way messages of designers. The contemporary spaces of the 21st century have been gradually shifting from uniform spaces attaching weight on individuals' individuality and tastes and along with it, the consumption of expensive custom-made furniture and foreign branded furniture is increasing to satisfy those small numbers of consumers who want to express diversified individuality. The modular furniture as a concept which is the most suitable to Mass Customization can be produced in large quantities while considering the diverse needs and tastes of individuals and it does not have absolute shapes or sizes. The concept of modular furniture shows similarities to the creation of fractals that forms shapes by self similarities, repeats and similar transformations which is in the same context as the characteristics of a modular design that presents diversity with scales, materials and jointing points. Fractals will be combined with the digital media of today to present great plasticity and influence designers more heavily. Pursuit of new modeling is a requisite for the creation of future spaces and it will require continuous creativity and the transformable modular furniture will contribute to the satisfaction of diverse consumers' needs. This study is to propose the modular furniture that considers the diversity of the public in the 21st century and their individuality and that will enable interactions between designers and consumers.
