Neighborhood Correlation Image Analysis for Change Detection Using Different Spatial Resolution Imagery

  • The characteristics of neighborhood correlation images for change detection were explored at different spatial resolution scales. Bi-temporal QuickBird datasets of Las Vegas, NV were used for the high spatial resolution image analysis, while bi-temporal Landsat $TM/ETM^{+}$ datasets of Suwon, South Korea were used for the mid spatial resolution analysis. The neighborhood correlation images consisting of three variables (correlation, slope, and intercept) were evaluated and compared between the two scales for change detection. The neighborhood correlation images created using the Landsat datasets resulted in somewhat different patterns from those using the QuickBird high spatial resolution imagery due to several reasons such as the impact of mixed pixels. Then, automated binary change detection was also performed using the single and multiple neighborhood correlation image variables for both spatial resolution image scales.

  • High resolution three-dimensional integral imaging display is proposed. Each time-multiplexed image is projected with different incident angle on same array of elemental lenses. Those images are collected at different positions in focal plane of lens array, and thus the number of the point light sources increases and their spacing decreases. Therefore, proposed method can create high resolution 3D images.

영상콘텐츠의 표현밀도에 따른 감정의 변화 (Changes in the Emotion by the Expressive Definition of Visual Contents)

  • 본 연구에서는 영상 콘텐츠의 표현밀도를 화면의 해상도와 피사체와의 거리감으로 정의하고, 표현밀도가 보는 이에게 미치는 감정의 변화를 살펴보고자 하였다. 부산지역 대학교에 재학 중인 학생 61명에게 HDTV방송화면에서 캡처한 영상이미지를 제시하고, 즐거움, 흥분, 통제 3가지 차원의 감정측정을 위해 SAM평가를 실시하였다. 서로 다른 해상도에 대한 비교결과 저해상도보다 고해상도의 콘텐츠 이미지를 볼 때 즐거운, 흥분되는, 통제되지 않는 방향으로 나타났다. 또한 해상도가 연속해서 동일할 때보다 변화가 있을 때 감정 변화 폭이 크게 나타났는데, 고해상도를 보다가 저해상도 이미지를 볼 때 감정이 유쾌하지 않은, 차분해지는 경향을 볼 수 있었다. 그러나 통제 감정에 대해서는 유의미한 결과가 나타나지 않았다. 또한 피사체와의 거리감에 대해 근거리, 중거리, 원거리를 사후다중비교 결과 근거리의 경우 다른 경우들 보다 즐거운, 흥분되는, 통제되지 않는 감정의 값이 더 높아졌다. 다변량 검증결과 해상도와 거리감에 대한 즐거움과 흥분 감정차원은 정의 상관관계를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Effects of Forcing Data Resolution in Macro Scale River Discharge Simulation

  • Macro scale distributed hydrological models simulate river discharge with better accuracy but it depends upon the grid resolution of input data. Effects of different input resolutions are studied here. Three different grid resolution input data obtained from HUBEX-IOP EEWB data and GAME Re-analysis data are used to simulate river discharge and compared against the observed one. CAME Re-analysis 1.25-degree resolution data are found quite satisfactory in larger basins, while HUBEX-IOP EEWB 10-minute resolution data are better for small catchments. GAME Re-analysis 2.5-degree resolution data did not give good result. Simulated results by using spatially interpolated data are rather worse than using original data. The Huaihe River basin $(132350\textrm{km}^2)$ is taken as the case of study.

HLA 연동 어댑터를 사용한 다중 해상도 모델 연동체계 개발 (The Method of Developing an Interoperation System between Multi-Resolution Models using a HLA Adapter)

  • Multi-resolution modeling(MRM) is required when simulating objects in variable resolution and can be applied for interoperating systems, which simulate objects in fixed resolution. However, most interoperation middleware do not support MRM, so participating models must handle several issues to simulate MRM system. In this paper, we propose an interoperation system, which is composed of several different resolution models, based on the High Level Architecture and Run-Time Infrastructure(HLA/RTI). In the proposed architecture, each model participates to a HLA federation through MRM adapter application, which supports data resolution conversion and HLA services while communicating with the model. MRM adapter application can be implemented based on an MRM adapter, and an adapter application development tool is proposed to support developing the application. Using the tool, developers can easily implement data resolution conversion component plugged-in HLA adapter. A case study is implemented in the proposed MRM system, and shows that models of different resolution works successfully with dynamic resolution changes.

  • This study examined how married men's experience of domestic violence during childhood and adolescence influences on their marital function and conflict resolution style. The SPSS 10.0 for Windows was used to analyze data obtained through 412 married men who live in Gwangiu. Major findings were as follows : 1. The marital function was different by the experience of abuse by parents and witness of father-to- mother abuse. 2. The conflict resolution style was different by the experience of abuse by parents and the witness of father-to-mother abuse. 3. The witness of father-to-mother abuse had the strongest impact on married men's marital function and their conflict resolution style . As the result of the study. it concludes that the exposure to domestic violence during childhood and adolescence has a negative effect on a marital relationship.

IMAGE CLASSIFICATION OF HIGH RESOLTION MULTISPECTRAL IMAGERY VIA PANSHARPENING

  • Lee (2008) proposed the pansharpening method to reconstruct at the higher resolution the multispectral images which agree with the spectral values observed from the sensor of the lower resolution values. It outperformed over several current techniques for the statistical analysis with quantitative measures, and generated the imagery of good quality for visual interpretation. However, if a small object stretches over two adjacent pixels with different spectral characteristics at the lower resolution, the pixels of the object at the higher resolution may have different multispectral values according to their location even though they have a same intensity in the panchromatic image of higher resolution. To correct this problem, this study employed an iterative technique similar to the image restoration scheme of Point-Jacobian iterative MAP estimation. The effect of pansharpening on image segmentation/classification was assessed for various techniques. The method was applied to the IKONOS image acquired over the area around Anyang City of Korea.

하이브리드 업샘플링을 이용한 베이시안 초해상도 영상처리 (Super-Resolution Image Processing Algorithm Using Hybrid Up-sampling)

  • In this paper, we present a new image up-sampling method which registers low resolution images to the high resolution grid when Bayesian super-resolution image processing is performed. The proposed up-sampling method interpolates high-resolution pixels using high-frequency data lying in all the low resolution images, instead of up-sampling each low resolution image separately. The interpolation is based on B-spline non-uniform re-sampling, adjusted for the super-resolution image processing. The experimental results demonstrate the effects when different up-sampling methods generally used such as zero-padding or bilinear interpolation are applied to the super-resolution image reconstruction. Then, we show that the proposed hybird up-sampling method generates high-resolution images more accurately than conventional methods with quantitative and qualitative assess measures.

A Study on 3D Road Extraction From Three Linear Scanner

  • The extraction of 3D road network from high-resolution aerial images is still one of the current challenges in digital photogrammetry and computer vision. For many years, there are many researcher groups working for this task, but unt il now, there are no papers for doing this with TLS (Three linear scanner), which has been developed for the past several years, and has very high-resolution (about 3 cm in ground resolution). In this paper, we present a methodology of road extraction from high-resolution digital imagery taken over urban areas using this modern photogrammetry’s scanner (TLS). The key features of the approach are: (1) Because of high resolution of TLS image, our extraction method is especially designed for constructing 3D road map for next -generation digital navigation map; (2) for extracting road, we use the global context of the intensity variations associated with different features of road (i.e. zebra line and center line), prior to any local edge. So extraction can become comparatively easy, because we can use different special edge detector according different features. The results achieved with our approach show that it is possible and economic to extract 3D road data from Three Linear Scanner to construct next -generation digital navigation road map.

WRF-Fire 산불 연료 · 지형자료 해상도와 지상바람의 연소면적 모의민감도 및 오차 분석연구 (Study on Sensitivities and Fire Area Errors in WRF-Fire Simulation to Different Resolution Data Set of Fuel and Terrain, and Surface Wind)

  • This study conducted WRF-Fire simulations in order to investigate sensitivities of the resolution of fire fuel and terrain data sets, and the surface wind to simulated fire area. The sensitivity simulations were consisted of 8 different WRF-Fire runs, each of which used different combination of data sets of fire fuel and terrain with different resolution. From the results it was turned out that the surface wind was most sensitive. The next was fire fuel and then fire terrain. Unfortunately, every run produced too much fire area. In other words no simulations succeeded in simulating such proper fire area so as for the WRF-Fire to be used realistically. It was verified that the errors of fire area from each runs were contributed by 41%, 53%, and 6% from surface wind, fire fuel, and fire terrain, respectively. Finally this study suggested that the selection of Anderson fuel category in the area of interest seemed to be very critical in the performance of WRF-Fire simulations.
