Engine valve-shaped TiAl-Mn intermetallics containing 43.5 to 47.5at%Al (Mn/Al=0.036) are successively fabricated by reactive sintering the elemental powder mixtures near-net shaped by extrusion and die forging. A duplex structure consisted of lamellar grains and equiaxed $\gamma$ grains is developed for all compositions, and the areal fraction of the lamellar grains(or equiaxed $\gamma$ grains) decreases (or increases) with increasing Al content. As Al content increased, the elongation increases with accompanying decrease in yield strength and ultimate tensile strength at both room temperature and 80$0^{\circ}C$. This indicates that the suitable composition is Ti-45at%Al-1.6at%Mn in considering the balance of ambient and elevated tensile properties. The reactive-sintered Ti-45Al-1.6Mn alloy shows superior oxidation resistance not only to the plasma arc melted one but also to the heat resistance steel STR35(representative exhaust valve head material for automotive engine). The reactive-sintered Ti-45Al-1.6Mn alloy coated with an oxidizing scale exhibits a better wear resistance than induction hardened martensitic steel STR11(representative exhaust valve tip material for automotive engine).

The term 'High Speed Machining' has been used for many years to describe end milling with small diameter tools at high rotational speeds, typically 10,000-100,000rpm. The process was applied in the aerospace industry for the machining of light alloys, notably aluminum. In recent year, however, the mold and die industry has begun to use the technology for the production of components, including those manufactured from hardened tool steels. With increasing cutting speed used in modern machining operation, the thermal aspects of cutting become more and mole Important. It not only directly influences in rate of tool weal, but also affects machining precision recognized as thermal expansion and the roughness of the surface finish. Hence, one needs to accurately evaluate the rate of cutting heat generation and temperature distributions on the machining surface. To overcome the heat generation, we used to cutting fluid. Cutting fluid plays a roles in metal cutting process. Mechanically coupled effectiveness of cutting fluids affect to friction coefficient at tool-workpiece interface and cutting temperature and chip control, surface finish, tool wear and form accuracy. Through this study, we examined the behavior of heat generation in high-speed machining and the cooling performance of various cooling methods.

This paper deals with the precision grinding for aspherical surface of optical parts. A parallel grinding method using the spherical wheel was suggested as a new grinding method. In this method, the wheel axis is positioned at a $\pi$/4 from the Z-axis in the direction of the X-axis. An advantage of this grinding method is that the wheel used in grinding achieves its maximum area, reducing wheel wear and improving the accuracy of the ground mirror surface. In addition, a truing by the CG (curve generating) method was proposed. After truing, the shape of spherical wheel transcribed on the carbon is measured by the Form-Talysurf-120L. The error of the form in the spherical wheel which is the value ${\Delta}x$ and $R{^2}{_y}$ inferred from the measured profile data is compensated by the re-truing. Finally, in the aspherical grinding experiment, the WC of the molding die was examined by the parallel grinding method using the resin bonded diamond wheel with a grain size of #3000. A form accuracy of 0.16${\mu}m$ P-V and a surface roughness of 0.0067${\mu}m$ Ra have been resulted.
The major purpose of this study is to obtain the evident and visual structure of costume of priest with symbol through the Old Testament. Based on corroborative the Old Testament, this thesis analyzes the costume of priest. This compares Aaron with his sons. This compares the two onyx stones on the shoulder pieces with four rows of precious stones on the breastpiece. This compares the robe with the woven tunic. This era falls on about from the 15th century before Christ. The crafts men whom God have endowed with skill make the vestments. Due to the christian religion, the body was entirely concealed. The costume of priest were not only used as dignity but also grandeur. According to the Old Testament the colour of the costume has signified not only the colour sense but also important symbolic meanings. The priest wore, over undergarments, a woven tunic, and he wore over the tunic, a robe, an ephod, a breastpiece, a sash, using a turban as head covering. Gold, and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and fine linen are used. Aaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they will not incur guilt and die.

The STD11 and KP4 are important steels and applied to the manufacturing of the die and mold. The purpose of this study is to investigate the machinability of tool steels of STD11(HRC60) and KP4(HRC32) when machining them by using ball end milling tools coated with TiAlN. Cutting forces by using a Kistler piezo-cell type tool dynamometer, surface roughness and tool wear by using tool microscope are used in the tests. The results from the cutting tests of KP4 specimens show that 85m/min. of cutting speed and 0.32mm/rev. of feed per revolution are optimum conditions for the higher productivity and 0.26mm/rev. with the same cutting speed are optimum conditions for better surface finishing. The results from machining STD11 workpiece at 30m/min. of cutting speed and 0.17m/rev. of feed per revolution show recommended for the higher productivity. The KP4 shows relatively smaller cutting forces than STD11 and STD11 shows the better surface finish than KP4.

With the recent increase in the demand for the net-shape forming, numerical simulations are being commonly adopted to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of design of bulk metal forming processes. Proper consideration of tribological problems at the contact interface between the tool and workpiece is crucial in such simulations. In other words, lubrication and friction play important roles in metal forming by influencing the metal flow, forming load and die wear. In order to quantitatively estimate such friction condition or lubricant characteristic, the constant shear friction model is widely used for bulk deformation analyses. For this, new friction testing method based on the forward or backward extrusion process is proposed to predict the shear friction factor in this work. In this method, the tube-shaped punch pressurizes the workpiece so that the heights at the center and outer of punch (or mandrel) become different according to the friction condition. That is, the height at the center of punch is higher than that at the outer of the punch when the friction condition at the contact interface is severe. From this founding, the proposed friction testing method can be applied to effectively evaluate the friction condition in bulk metal forming processes.
In the wet master batch process, process oil is used to improve the workability of silica-SBR. The process oil expands the polymer and provides lubrication to soften the stiff rubber chain. However, addition of excess process oil can interfere in the crosslinking reaction between rubber molecules and reduce the crosslinking density of silica-SBR. Controlling the amount of process oil is an important aspect for properly controlling the workability and crosslinking density of silica-SBR. In this study, silica-SBR was prepared by adjusting the amount of process oil to confirm its effect on silicaSBR. Vulcanization characteristics of silica-SBR were examined using a moving die rheometer. Dynamic viscoelasticity was measured using a dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer, and the mechanical properties were investigated using the universal testing machine according to ASTM D412. As a result, all silica-SBR compounds with 10 to 40 phr of process oil have effects of improving the processability and the silica dispersibility. Also, the optimum condition was determined when 10 phr of processed oil was added because the abrasion resistance was improved 65% compared to that at 40 phr.

Recently, there has been continuous technological development in the semiconductor industry, and semiconductor manufacturing technologies are being advanced and highly integrated. For this reason, ceramic material having excellent heat resistance, wear resistance, and conductivity are used as components in semiconductor manufacturing. Among them, the probe card's space transformer is used as ceramic material to prevent electronic signal noise during the electrical die sorting of semiconductor function testing. However, implementing a bulk-type space transformer with a thickness of 5.6 mm or more is challenging, and thus it is produced in a structure with a stacked ceramic film. The stacked space transformer has low productivity because it is difficult to ensure hole clogging and a precise shape. In this research, an ultrasonic horn is designed to manufacture a bulk-type ceramic space transformer through ultrasonic drilling. Vibration characteristics were analyzed according to the ultrasonic horn, and the natural frequency was measured.
Recently, several studies are being conducted to achieve a curvature of 180° or more for the edge of the display glass. The thermocompression molding process is applied to the manufacture of curved glass, and high hardness G5 graphite is used as the mold material to withstand the impact applied to the mold. G5 graphite has high hardness and strong brittleness, which makes tool wear and surface damage easy during machining. Therefore, the demand for diamond-coated tools with good mechanical properties is increasing in the G5 machining field. In this study, the optimal cutting conditions and machinability of a nanodiamond (NCD) coated ball end mill being developed by a tool manufacturer were analyzed and evaluated. For this purpose, the same test was performed on the microdiamond (MCD) coated ball end mill and compared together. In summary, the machinability of MCD and NCD coated tools showed better cutting performance at a cutting speed of 282 m/min, a feed rate of 1,400 mm/min, and a radial depth of cut of 0.08 to 0.1 mm.
