유방암 진단 활용을 위한 마이크로파 라디오미터 측정 데이터의 GUI 시스템 구현 (Implementing Graphic User Interface System for Microwave Radiometry Data to Utilize Breast Cancer Diagnosis)

  • In this study, a novel Graphic User Interface (GUI) software development system is suggested so that it can be applied to diagnose breast cancer with utilizing 3~4.2 GHz microwave radiometric data. The estimated inner and surface temperature values on the patient's right and left breast in terms of microwave radiometry are visualized in HSV color mapping space and their relevant contour regions and lines are depicted by Marching Square graphic algorithm. Also the database system is implemented in terms of patient and diagnostic module to support the medical decisions concerning the breast cancer diagnosis.

  • Water leak for the water-cooled generator stator windings affects seriously the availability and the reliability of power plants. Generally, water absorption test is conducted in the power plant during outage in order to confirm if leak part is in the bars or not. In this paper, it is described that the capacitance of winding bars is measured by using the developed water absorption instrument system and the water absorption of winding bars is evaluated by using the stochastic methods. The good results by proposed diagnosis technique can be got. It is expected that the reliability of diagnosis for water absorption is increased if the proposed methods are applied to evaluate the water absorption of stator winding bars.

Fuzzy-Bayes Fault Isolator Design for BLDC Motor Fault Diagnosis

  • To improve fault isolation performance of the Bayes isolator, this paper proposes the Fuzzy-Bayes isolator, which uses the Fuzzy-Bayes classifier as a fault isolator. The Fuzzy-Bayes classifier is composed of the Bayes classifier and weighting factor, which is determined by fuzzy inference logic. The Mahalanobis distance derivative is mapped to the weighting factor by fuzzy inference logic. The Fuzzy-Bayes fault isolator is designed for the BLDC motor fault diagnosis system. Fault isolation performance is evaluated by the experiments. The research results indicate that the Fuzzy-Bayes fault isolator improves fault isolation performance and that it can reduce the transition region chattering that is occurred when the fault is injected. In the experiment, chattering is reduced by about half that of the Bayes classifier's.

Application of artificial intelligence for diagnosis of early gastric cancer based on magnifying endoscopy with narrow-band imaging

  • Although magnifying endoscopy with narrow-band imaging is the standard diagnostic test for gastric cancer, diagnosing gastric cancer using this technology requires considerable skill. Artificial intelligence has superior image recognition, and its usefulness in endoscopic image diagnosis has been reported in many cases. The diagnostic performance (accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity) of artificial intelligence using magnifying endoscopy with narrow band still images and videos for gastric cancer was higher than that of expert endoscopists, suggesting the usefulness of artificial intelligence in diagnosing gastric cancer. Histological diagnosis of gastric cancer using artificial intelligence is also promising. However, previous studies on the use of artificial intelligence to diagnose gastric cancer were small-scale; thus, large-scale studies are necessary to examine whether a high diagnostic performance can be achieved. In addition, the diagnosis of gastric cancer using artificial intelligence has not yet become widespread in clinical practice, and further research is necessary. Therefore, in the future, artificial intelligence must be further developed as an instrument, and its diagnostic performance is expected to improve with the accumulation of numerous cases nationwide.

기능성 소화불량 환자에서 설태후박 및 흉늑각 측정의 진단적 가치 (Diagnostic Values of Tongue Coating Thickness and Sterno-costal Angle in Functional Dyspepsia)

  • Objectives : The aims of this study were to evaluate the diagnostic values of tongue coating thickness and sterno-costal angle as the quantitative diagnostic indicators in functional dyspepsia. Methods : We surveyed 60 functional dyspepsia patients recruited by the clinical trial, 'Clinical Trial for Evaluation on Availability of tongue diagnosis system (CTS-1000) : a Pilot study'. The patients were classified into three groups according to Rome III criteria for functional dyspepsia, and categorized into five groups according to Instrument of pattern identification for functional dyspepsia. Nepean dyspepsia index-Korean version (NDI-K) score, tongue coating thickness (percentage of tongue coating by tongue diagnosis system (CTS-1000), and weight of tongue coating by microbalance), sterno-costal angle, duration of illness and body mass index (BMI) were investigated. Results : Among the 5 types by instrument of pattern identification for functional dyspepsia, a significant difference of percentage of tongue coating was found. Percentage of tongue coating and weight of tongue coating showed significant correlation with total NDI-K score. Sterno-costal angle showed strong positive correlation with BMI and also showed significant difference between the non-overweight (BMI<23, n=32) and overweight ($BMI{\geq}23$, n=28) groups. Conclusions : Tongue coating thickness showed its potential as a new quantitative diagnostic indicator of functional dyspepsia. Further studies on the sterno-costal angle are anticipated to evaluate its potential as a new quantitative diagnostic indicator.

뇌암 진단 및 치료 연구를 위한 교모세포종 동물모델 개발 (Development of Glioblastoma In Vivo Model for the Research of Brain Cancer Diagnosis and Therapy)

  • 본 연구는 교모세포종 (Glioblastoma multiform, GBM)에 대한 방사선 진단학적/치료학적 연구에 필수적으로 필요한 악성뇌종양 동물모델을 개발하기 위해 수행되었다. 악성뇌종양 동물모델 개발을 위해 뇌정위 기구(stereotactic instrument)를 이용하여 C6 세포(Glioblastoma cell line)를 SD rat의 우측 선조체 내에 동종이식하였다. 개발된 동물모델의 검증을 위해 MRI와 해부조직학적 검사방법을 이용하였다. 해부조직학적 검사방법으로는 H&E 염색법을 이용하였다. MRI를 이용한 종양 형성 검사에서 C6 세포 이식 7일 후 종양 형성이 확인되었고, 14일 후에는 이식한 우측 뇌의 대부분이 종양으로 변화한 것을 확인하였다. 해부조직학적 검사에서는 과세포 발현 및 다형성 세포에 의해 형태학적 변화가 발생하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 개발된 악성뇌종양 동물모델은 in vivo level에서 교모세포종에 대한 방사선 진단학적 기술 개발 및 새로운 치료법 개발을 위한 필수적인 도구로서 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Reliability of the Korean Version of Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia for Temporomandibular Disorders

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to translate the original English version of tampa scale for kinesiophobia for temporomandibular disorders (TSK-TMDs) for cultural equivalency into Korean language and to evaluate the reliability of the Korean version of the TSK-TMD among symptom free subjects. Methods: The original version of TSK-TMD was translated and cross-culturally adapted following international guidelines. A total 90 subjects (50 women, 40 men) were participated to fill out the questionnaire. The internal consistency and test-retest reliability with a one- or two-week time interval were evaluated. Results: The internal consistency of TSK-TMD of the original and the modified 12-item TSK-TMD were 0.866, and 0.858, respectively using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. And the internal consistency of activity avoidance (AA) and somatic focus (SF) subscale were 0.838 and 0.807 assessed with Cronbach's alpha indicating excellent reliability. Test-retest reliability of the original TSK-TMD measured by the intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) was 0.764, and coefficients value of the 12-question TSK-TMD was 0.752. Test-retest reliability of AA subscale was 0.722 and SF subscale was 0.677 measured by ICC. Conclusions: The Korean version of the TSK-TMD questionnaire was found to be a reliable instrument and successfully translated to Korean language. There are no significant differences between overall and modified version of TSK-TMD. It can be used as a valuable instrument for the analyses of the psychosocial aspects of the TMD patients in Korea.

생체-전기적 반응에 의한 한의학적 진단시스템의 설계 (Design of Oriental Medicine diagnosis system by Bio-Electric Response)

  • 인체 생리의 부조화에 의한 기능적 이상 진단이 가시화 장비나 임상병리 소견으로도 진단할 수 없는 경우가 있기 때문에, 현대과학과 의공학의 특성을 접목한 EFG(Electro Functio Gram:기능전도) 측정 개념의 진단기술 개발이 요구되고 있다. 따라서 이러한 기능적 진단기술을 이용하여 양ㆍ한방 모든 분야에서 기초 진단기로 사용할 수 있는 재현성과 신뢰성, 편리성을 갖춘 범용의 진단시스템으로 개발하였다. 또한, 한의학적진단 및 치료를 위한 기와 혈의 인체 순환을 진단할 수 있는 사지 8CH(양,음경락), 두부 2CH 동시계측 방법 및 일괄 부착식 전극을 개발하였다. 성인 남자 20명(정상인)을 대상으로 한 임상데이터 분석결과, 인체의 12경락의 상태 및 자율신경계통의 상태를 진단할 수 있어서, 진단장비로써의 유의성을 확인하였다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 인체 12부위의 음경락 양경락을 측정할 수 있는 H/W 및 S/W을 구현하고, EFG 체계를 구축하여 생체-전기적 반응에 의한 한의학적 진단 시스템을 설계하였다.

  • 1. Objectives This is the comparative study with hand-operated measurement method and Automatic measurement method, in order to convert the automatic measurement method. 2. Methods We measured the body of patients(hand-operated Width 5 Places and hand-operated circumference 8 place,Automatic Width 5 and automatic circumference 8 place by 3D body measuring instrument) and analyzed the anthropometric data divding into sex&age. 362 patient's data are used in the analysis. 3. Results and Conclusions 1) 1th circumference variable which standing was not a sasang constitutional difference. 2) Diagnostic accuracy rate of the body measurement was 50-80%. 3) Diagnostic accuracy rate of man is higher than Diagnostic accuracy rate of women 4) Diagnostic accuracy rate of Automatic & hand-operated measuring was not a big difference.

  • should be in English, A make out an economical, reliable and easy to adoptable instrument in turbine discharge measurement was restricted from lots of it's foundational condition. Not with standing the brilliant progress in new technology of these day, useful instrument for flow measurement in turbine is still ongoing. Nowaday, the increasing importance of renewable energy makes it more important that the measuring turbine efficiency as a decision making index of old turbines' replacement. In Turbine performance diagnosis, Kwater(Korea Water Corporation) got an enough ability and decent reputation for who has invested lots of time and effort for buildup and development. In Korea as a public corporation who should take a crucial roll in Turbine business, Kwater has introduced some developed new technology for other domestic concerned one. With this writing, I'd like to introduce ASFM system as a newly developed instrument that can cope with lots restriction in discharge measurement in turbine. Kwater adopted the system in 2005, and performed 2 times of trial test. The test result was good enough to use the system as a reference test method.
