In this paper, the e-grocery sector of the U.S. is used as an illustrative example of how to assess consumers' demands for customer relationship management and to investigate whether these demands coincide with effective Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategies suggested by academic researchers and provided by practitioners. Surveys evaluating the perceived importance of CRM items were administered accordingly. The findings show that, overall, consumers' did not differ considerably to the experts. The results of descriptive analyses showed that academicians had a more closely in-lined view with consumers than did practitioners. Although not statistically significant, practitioners perceived loyalty programs to be more important than did consumers or academicians. This might suggest that loyalty programs are primarily serving as a way of data mining, and are thus failing to provide benefits to consumers. Overall, items related to technology deployment were perceived to be more important by practitioners than consumers or academicians.

The purpose of the study was to examine the agreement between parent and adolescent reports on parenting behaviors. The participants were 196 father-mother-adolescent triads. Results indicated that there were significant differences in reports of parenting behaviors between parents and adolescents. Generally, parents reported higher respect, disciplines and attention than their adolescents did. However, there were low to high agreements between parental report and adolescent report on parenting behaviors. The degree of those agreements varied by adolescent's developmental stage, birth order and mother's education. The findings suggested that differences in agreements between parent and adolescent reports on parenting behaviors might not be random and the agreements should be addressed in terms of specific sample characteristics.

Coagulation involves the regulated sequence of proteolytic activation of a series of proteins to achieve appropriate and timely hemostasis in an injured vessel. In the non-pathological state, the inciting event involves exposure of circulating factor VIIa to extravascularly expressed tissue factor, which brings into motion the series of steps which results in cell based model of coagulation. In the new concepts of coagulation system, initiation, amplification and propagation steps are involved to converse of fibrinogen to fibrin. The precisely synchronized cascade of events is counter-balanced by a system of anticoagulant mechanisms. Developmental hemostasis refers to the age-related changes in the coagulation system that are most marked during neonate and childhood. An understanding of these changes in crucial to the accurate diagnosis of hemostatic abnormalities in neonate and children. This review aims to elucidate the main events within the coagulation cascade as it is currently understood to operate in vivo, and also a short review of the anticoagulants as they relate to this model. Also this paper describes the common pitfalls observed in the clinical data related to the coagulation system in neonate to children.

In a conventional sense, dried-spermatozoa are all dead and motionless due to the lost of their natural ability to penetrate oocytes both in vivo and in vitro. However, their nuclei are completely able to contribute to normal embryonic development even after long-term preservation in a dried state when the dried-spermatozoa are microinjected into the oocytes. In this sense, dried spermatozoa must still be alive. Thus, defining spermatozoa as alive or dead seems rather arbitrary. Several drying method of sperm including freeze-drying, evaporative/convective-drying and heat-drying were represented in this review. Although the drying protocol reported here will need further improvement, the results suggest that it may be possible to store the male genetic resources.

Intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) are highly unorthodox proteins that do not form three-dimensional structures under physiological conditions. The discovery of IDPs has destroyed the classical structure-function paradigm in protein science, 3-D structure = function, because IDPs even without well-folded 3-D structures are still capable of performing important biological functions and furthermore are associated with fatal diseases such as cancers, neurodegenerative diseases and viral pandemics. Pre-structured motifs (PreSMos) refer to transient local secondary structural elements present in the target-unbound state of IDPs. During the last two decades PreSMos have been steadily acknowledged as the critical determinants for target binding in dozens of IDPs. To date, the PreSMo concept provides the most convincing structural rationale explaining the IDP-target binding behavior at an atomic resolution. Here we present a brief developmental history of PreSMos and describe their common characteristics. We also provide a list of newly discovered PreSMos along with their functional relevance.

To investigate the morphology characteristics of air layer in the air cavity, a numerical method with the combination of RANS equations and VOF two-phase-flow model is proposed for a plate with air cavity. Based on the model above, the dynamic and developmental process of air layer in the air cavity is studied. Numerical results indicate that the air layer in the plate's air cavity exhibits the dynamic state of morphology and the wavelength of air layer becomes larger with the increasing speed. The morphology of air layer agrees with the Froude similarity law and the formation of the air layer is not affected by the parameters of the cavity, however, the wave pattern of the air layer is influenced by the parameters of the cavity. The stable air layer under the air cavity is important for the resistance reduction for the air layer drag reduction.

Samples were collected from the subtidal region of Jumunjin on the eastern coast of Korea in July 2020. A total of 338 mussels of shell height (SH) 20.8-149.8 mm were used for sex ratio analysis. The sex ratio (F:M) in the same population of mussel Mytilus coruscus was approximately 1:0.7. The sex ratio according to the class of SH was different. The sex reversal pattern of M. coruscus appears to go from male → female → male → female, and as such is determined to be sequential hermaphrodites.

Three-dimensional cultures of human neural tissue/organlike structures in vitro can be achieved by mimicking the developmental processes occurring in vivo. Rapid progress in the field of neural organoids has fueled the hope (and hype) for improved understanding of brain development and functions, modeling of neural diseases, discovery of new drugs, and supply of surrogate sources of transplantation. In this short review, we summarize the state-of-the-art applications of this fascinating tool in various research fields and discuss the reality of the technique hoping that the current limitations will soon be overcome by the efforts of ingenious researchers.

This article tries to identify the regulating mechanism of the welfare states on the private spheres of individuals and families. When the welfare state is to be understood as an institutional arrangement which is based upon the 'modernity', the reflectivity on the welfare state is about to be on the modernity and on the institutions as well. Authors assume the welfare state as an historical and developmental type of modern states. The critical components of modernity embedded in birth and growth of modern welfare states projected to their institutions are identified. Welfare states dissociates the political dynamics which have built the foundation of the welfare state itself, and faces against the new political dynamics of the individualized society. Finally, welfare state confronts the institution failure due to its intrinsic characteristics, and consequently individuals and families come across the institution dependency. Individuals in the overly rationalized spheres are being depoliticized, and they are identified themselves as the subjects of status-struggles of the institutions other than the subjects of the political dynamics of welfare states.
