  • In the era of digital technology, display device is the one of the important interface tool to communicate and transmit the information. Among the various display devices, CRT is the most popular one. Even though the CRT has many advantages comparing to other devices, it is faced to overcome its a few disadvantages especially in volume, shape and price, etc, In this paper, we try to show the development strategy of CRT corresponding with flat displays in the view point of ergonomics.

  • Development of an automobile antenna printed on-glass for FM radio receptions was discussed in this study. NEC-2 code was used as the design tool in this research. An omnidirectional radiation pattern and reception power level of the newly designed antenna were compared with those of the conventional pole antenna for the evaluation of its performance. The test sites for the reception power level measurement were chosen by their signal enbironmental condition, such as multipath fading, and strong field effect area.

  • A naphtha reforming process treats the feed naphtha for the production of BTX and high octane gasoline. In this paper, the development of NAFOS (Naphtha Reformer Steady-State Simulator), which is the efficient tool for the wide range of reforming process studies, is presented. NAFOS system is based on the sequential modular approach and composed of unit computation routines, physical properties data base, numerical routines, flowsheet convergence routine and user interfaces for input-output control. The developed NAFOS system has been tested by computation of the UOP Platforrming process. Simulation results of NAFOS corresponded with that of established general purpose simulator (ASPEN PLUS), and faster for the same simulation case.

  • One of the crucial problems that must be solved in a computerised unmanned machining environments requires the development of algorithm in order to predict the reliable cutting conditions on surface roughness. This paper is to develop the mathematical models for choosing the suitable cutting conditions and assist a comprehensive understanding of its machinability properties for cutting process by Ball End Mill. The mathematical equations developed to predict the surface results. It has been found that theoretical results obtained from the empirical equations agree with the experimental results of surface roughness.

  • The development of an unmanned vehicle basically requires the robust and reliable performance of major functions which include global localization, lane detection, obstacle avoidance, path planning, etc. The implementation of major functional subsystems are possible by integrating and fusing data acquired from various sensory systems such as GPS, vision, ultrasonic sensor, encoder, and electric compass. This paper focuses on implementing the functional subsystems, which are designed and developed by a graphical programming tool, NI LabVIEW, and also verifying the autonomous navigation and remote control of the unmanned vehicle.

  • The railway system is composed of large scale infrastructures and high-cost trains. For planning and analyzing this kind of complex system, simulation method can be used for efficient tool. In this research, we review basic simulation programming models and present a modeling for the elements of railway system such as rail-line infrastructure, train, time table and operational route. Additionally, some considerations on the development of multi-train traffic simulator for KyongBu-line are discussed.

  • Nowadays, as the development period of new products becomes shorter and consumer's requirement is more various, the importance of Rapid Protytyping Technology has been rapidly increased. Rapid Protytyping makes protytypes or functional parts directly using the 3D CAD data. But RP machines can make protytype in limit size. But RP machines can make protytype in limit size. For making large size protytype, we slice solid, which is made of STL file, and then glue sliced solid. This paper is concerned with slicing solid on STL file.

  • Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) is a powerful tool to investigate the electronic structure of a single-crystalline solid. After the development of a two-dimensional electron detector, it became a basic experimental method in solid state physics comparable to other powerful tools such as x-ray and neutron scatterings. In this tutorial, I talk briefly on the basic principle of ARPES and its recent and future direction of development.
