기술가치 결정요인의 특성과 영향요인 분석 (An Empirical Study of Determinants of Technology Value in Korea)

  • This study examines the underlying properties of technology valuation and empirically tests the difference in various aspects of the determinants of technology valuation in Korea. In particular, this study analyzes influential factors on the determination of economic value of a technology. For this purpose, we look into the trends of technology valuation in Korea and analyze the patterns of technology valuation in terms of intellectual property, technology area, discount rate, and contribution of technology to business value. By doing so, this paper investigates how the economic value of a technology in transfer or commercialization of technology is determined in Korea and draw implications from the process of discussion.

Determinants for the Social Acceptance of New Emerging Science and Technology: The Case of Genetically Modified Foods

  • This study identifies the structural determinants of the social acceptance of genetically modified (GM) foods across European countries. Toward this end, we suggest an integrated theoretical model to explain the social acceptance of GM foods by including both perception factors (perceived benefit, perceived risk, feelings, trust, and knowledge) and value factors (ethical concerns, science optimism, religiosity, and ideology). This model is then tested by analyzing survey data collected from 18,634 Europeans in 32 countries. The results indicate that first, not only perception factors but also value factors significantly contribute to explaining the acceptance of GM foods. Second, perceived benefits, perceived risk, feelings, and ethical concerns tend to be the four biggest determinants for acceptance. Third, this two-factor model could be generalized even with variation across countries. Finally, ethical concerns and scientific optimism play a moderating role between predictors and outcomes in the acceptance of GM foods.

  • Purpose - This paper empirically analyzed the determinants of the online food market in Korea and Vietnam as representatives of the developed market and emerging market. The online food market can be regarded as having a high potential value. This study aims to suggest the appropriate implications for each developed market and emerging market by empirically comparing and analyzing customers' online food purchase determinants in the growth change of the online food market. Design/methodology - The empirical model of this study was established with the motif of the TAM+Trust model suggested by Nguyen et al.'s (2019) existing theoretical framework. Davis's (1989) TAM model was adopted to establish a framework related to the determinants that consumers would accept, for the online food purchasing method. Then, the trust variable is added to the framework which is regarded as an important effector especially in food related researches. In this study's comparative analysis, the multi-group structural equation modeling analysis was implemented. Findings - The main finding of this study can be summarized as that the moderating effect of nationality is significant. This means that there is an obvious difference between the developed online food market and the emerging online food market. In addition, as the growth of the online market changes, the significant determinants of consumers' attitudes and purchase intentions are somewhat different. However, the usefulness of online food purchasing methods and the trust of websites were analyzed as significant factors. Originality/value - Although the potential of the online food market is abundant, studies on the determinants of customer's attitude and purchase intention are insufficient. Moreover, comparative studies between countries have not been conducted in existing studies. Therefore, the research value of this paper can be explained in that it has suggested implications for the continued growth of the online food market.

  • The Korean film industry has grown fast since the 2000s in terms of entering the 50% market share level, the emergence of 10million box-office movies and export performance improvement; however, the earning rate of production and investment part has decreased and recorded a minus value since 2005. This article aims to find key the determinants for the success of Korean movies from 2001~2006, a period of high growth and success of the Korean film industry through a multiple regression analysis. This paper introduces new determinants such as the interaction effect of the director and lead actor as well as mass culture codes. Finally, the authors suggest some proposals to make the Korean Film Industry more profitable.

  • This study empirically analyzes the characteristics of the various attributes of technology that influence the economic values of technologies, based on the cases of technology valuation carried out in Korea. To do so, we collect the cases of technology valuation carried out by major technology valuation institutions in Korea and extract from these data the information about various characteristics of the subject technologies of valuation and the primary factors applied to the technology valuation. Based on such extracted information, we examine the overall trends of technology valuation in Korea and analyze how the main factors of technology valuation vary with the attributes of technology.

한국 태양에너지기업의 가치사슬별 경제적 성과 요인분석 (A Study on Economic Performance and its Determinants by Value-Chain in Korean Solar Energy Companies)

  • 본 연구는 국내 태양에너지 기업의 가치사슬별 경제적 성과와 그 결정요인인 규모의 경제, 기술수준, 자금조달능력, 국내시장 경쟁정도 등간의 상관관계를 분석하고 있다. 249개 기업에 대한 설문조사를 바탕으로 다중로짓분석을 실시하였다. 분석의 결과 기업의 경제적 성과는 자금조달능력이 높을수록, 시장경쟁이 낮을수록 높았으며, 기술수준과 규모의 경제는 유의미하지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 가치사슬별 분석에서 부품조달공정은 기술수준이 낮을수록, 자금조달능력이 높을수록, 제조공정은 기술수준 및 자금조달능력이 높을수록, 그리고 마케팅공정은 자금조달능력이 높을수록, 시장경쟁이 낮을수록 경제적 성과가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이로써 국내 태양에너지산업은 특유의 기술혁신체제 구축, 선진화된 금융시스템 구축, 그리고 가치사슬 공정별로 핵심능력을 가진 기업 간 네트워크를 구성하여 운영하는 프랙털 시스템을 추진해야 할 것으로 전망된다.

Measuring the Economic Value of Restoring Hampyeong Stream Space

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the spatial restoration of Hampyeong Stream and to analyze the determinants of demand for the multi-functionalities of the stream. A Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) was used to estimate the multi-functional public benefits of restored stream area, and major determinants were scrutinized by establishing a demand model. The research data was collected by conducting a survey intended for Hampyeong's local residents, resulting in 284 valid samples. In terms of determinants that affect willingness to pay (WTP), 'physical factor of waterfront area' and 'experience factor of stream space' showed a significantly positive influence on WTP. As a result of applying a double-bounded CVM, the willingness to pay for the restored Hampyeong Stream area indicated a potential contribution of 22,523 won (17,362~27,459 won, 95% confidence interval). When multiplying the number of households in Hampyeong-gun, the total annual value of Hampyeong Stream spatial restoration is approximately 302million won.

특허가치 결정요인과 기술거래금액에 관한 실증 분석 (An Empirical Analysis on Determinant Factors of Patent Valuation and Technology Transaction Prices)

  • 최근 지식기반경제 구조로의 전환과 함께, 기술이전, 기술사업화와 같은 연구개발 성과의 생산적 활용을 위한 거래가 급격히 늘어남에 따라 특허가치평가의 중요성이 점점 확대되고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 국내에서는 거래사례 수집의 어려움으로 실제 사례분석을 통한 결정요인 분석연구는 활발하지 못한 실정이다. 전문가조사법, 비교평가법 등 정성적인 평가기법의 주관적인 결과에 대한 객관성 확보를 위해, 본 연구에서는 평점법에서 적용될 수 있는 정량적인 특허가치 결정요인을 제시하고자 15개의 국내외 특허가치평가 모형을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 공통적으로 중요하다고 판단되는 6개 기술가치 결정요인을 도출하였고, 선행연구를 통해 각각의 결정요인의 대리변수로 활용 가능한 특허정보를 매칭하였다. 또한, 제시된 연구모형이 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는지 검증하기 위해 공공 및 민간기술거래기관에서 수집된 총 517건의 특허거래사례를 다중 회귀분석을 통해 특허가치를 결정하는 유의미한 특허요인들을 도출하였다. 그 결과 전체산업에서는 특허연계성(인용문헌수) 및 해당 특허기술의 상용화단계 정보들이 기술거래금액에 유의한 영향을 미친다고 분석되었다. 본 연구는 실제 거래사례를 바탕으로 하여 유의미한 특허가치 결정요인을 제시하였다는 데에 그 의의가 있으며, 향후 지속적인 거래사례 수집 및 모니터링을 통해 산업별 연구 결과가 체계적으로 검증된다면, 특허출원 전략 수립 및 연구사업(대표 특허보유) 성과 평가 시 활용할 수 있는 산업별 맞춤 평가모형을 제안할 수 있을 것이다.

IPTV에서의 유료 VOD 구매 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Determinants of Purchase Intention for IPTV-VOD Contents)

  • This paper investigated main determinants of purchase intention for VOD contents by employing an extended technology acceptance model. The findings showed that 'user activeness' is the critical external variable influencing five perceived belief variables, namely perceived usefulness, perceived playfulness, perceived quality, perceived complexity and perceived cost. Regarding consumer satisfaction for free VOD service, it had no direct effect but indirect effect on the purchase behavior, meaning that the satisfaction causes purchase intention for VOD contents via the cognitive attitude. Also, the moderating e!ect of use experience on the relationship between the belief variables and the purchase intention was confirmed. Users with much experience showed a higher perception for usefulness and quality, whereas users with less experience placed a higher value on the hedonic factors and costs. In contrast to previous studies on IPTV that mainly focused on determinant of IPTV subscription, this paper analyzed VOD that is a killer application of IPTV in identification of key factors for the acceptance. The findings provide IPTV operators some strategies to create customer value and improve profitability.
