  • In real system application, the interacting multiple model (IMM) based algorithm operates with the following problems: it requires less computing resources as well as a good performance with respect to the various target maneuvering, it requires a robust performance with respect to the time-varying measurement noise, and further, it requires an easy design procedure in terms of its structures and parameters. To solve these problems, an adaptive fuzzy interacting multiple model (AFIMM) algorithm, which is based on the basis sub-models defined by considering the maneuvering property and the time-varying mode transition probabilities designed by using the mode probabilities as the inputs of the fuzzy decision maker whose widths are adjusted, is proposed. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, a radar target tracking is performed. Simulation results show that the proposed AFIMM algorithm solves all problems in the real system application of the IMM based algorithm.

  • The acoustic target strength (TS) is one of the most important parameters for a submarine's stealth design. Because modem submarines are larger than their predecessors, TS must be managed at each design stage in order to reduce it. To predict the TS of a submarine, TASTRAN R1 was developed based on a Kirchhoff approximation in a high-frequency range. This program can present TS values that include multi-bounce effect in the exterior and interior of the structure by combining geometric optics (GO) and physical optics (PO) methods, anechoic coating effect by using the reflection coefficient, and response time pattern for a detected target. In this paper, TS calculations for a submarine model with the above effects are simulated by using this developed program, and the TS results are discussed.

  • To acquire radar target signature, various kinds of target are necessary. Measurement is one of the data acquiring method, but much time and high cost is required to get the target data from the real targets. Even if we can afford that, the targets we can access are very limited. To obtain target signatures avoiding these problems, we build the target CAD (Computer Aided Design) model for the calculation of target signatures. To speed up RCS calculation, we applied adaptive super-sampling and tested quite complex tank CAD model which is 1.4 hundred of thousands facet. We use calculated RCS data for ID range profile and 2D ISAR (Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) image formation. We adopted IFFT (Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) algorithm combined with polar formatting algorithm for the ISAR imaging. We could confirm the possibility of the construction of database from the images of CAD models for target classification applications.

  • From the beginning of Digital text book in 2007, there are many kinds of digital text book such as English, Science etc at Public education. Above many problems at the beginning like just using paper text book's scan data as digital text book, now use special contents and design for only digital text book. But only for digital text book not for other. There is gap between advanced country of education and us. This is research based on LG europe design center in London, UK target is UK, Sweden by heuristic analysis, question investigation to get Target's UX with digital education media. Advancement of digital and interest of education bring the world development of digital education device. UK, where is education advanced nation, is using lot's of digital education device which is interactive board, digital desk etc. Result of Analysis of Digital Education Design trend by Target of Education Needs apply rough Design by LG europe design center. We can get more sophisticated needs and UX result by target then Korea that can use for our future Digital education design plan. Also help to reduce gap between advanced country and Korea.

  • For improving performance of heat pump system, researcher has adapted 2-stage economizer cycle and developed a high-efficiency screw compressor, new working medium(non-azeotropic mixed refrigerant) and counterflow heat exchangers operating with a small temperature difference. Target of this study is development of high performance heat pump system with the 2-stage economizer system using the non-azeotropic mixed refrigerant. For the purpose of excuting target, we constucted computer simulation programs, compared and examed various types of cycle and non-azeotropic mixture. Based on the results from computer simulation we selected optimum mixtures and reflected design and production process of performance test equipment with the 1-stage econmizer system. In order to accomplish the final target, design and production of the 2-stage economizer system, we performed pilot test using the 1-stage economizer performance test system and finally design and production of the 2-stage economizer system.

  • The reliability assessment is performed for Pressure Control Regulator of Aircraft Fuel System using reliability procedure which consists of the reliability analysis and the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis(FMEA). The target reliability as MTBF(Mean Time Between Failure) is set to 5000hr. During the reliability analysis process, the system is categorized by Work Breakdown Structure(WBS) up to level 3, and a reliability structure is defined by schematics of the system. Since the components and parts that have been collected through EPRD/NPRD. The predicted reliability to meet mission requirements and operating conditions is estimated as 4375.9hr. To accomplish the target reliability, the components and parts with high RPN have been identified and changed by analyzing the potential failure modes and effects. By changing the configuration design of components and parts with high-risk, the design is satisfied target reliability.

  • A propeller as a propulsion system has been redesigned to improve performance of a target drone. The vortex theory has been applied for the propeller design method. Design variables have been the chord length along the direction of blade radius, the change of blade radius, and the geometric angle of the blade. The existing propeller has been redesigned and modified considering engine RPM change to get the improved thrust at both low and high speeds.

  • Acceleration time history (ATH) used in the seismic analysis should envelop a target power spectral density (PSD) function in addition to the design response spectrum in order to have sufficient energy at each frequency for the purpose of ensuring adequate load. Even though design regulations require the ATH used in seismic analysis to meet a target PSD function, the reason that ATHs meet to a target PSD function is not described. Thus, artificial ATHs for high PSD function and artificial ATHs for low PSD function are generated. And then elastic and inelastic single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) systems are loaded with these artificial time histories as the earthquake load. As a result, linear response and inelastic response of SDOF systems are affected by PSD function.

  • In this paper, a new efficient method for structural modal reanalysis is proposed, which can handle large finite element (FE) models requiring frequent design modifications. The global FE model is divided into a residual part not to be modified and a target part to be modified. Then, an automated matrix permutation and substructuring algorithm is applied to these parts independently. The reduced model for the residual part is calculated and saved in the initial analysis, and the target part is reduced repeatedly, whenever design modifications occur. Then, the reduced model for the target part is assembled with that of the residual part already saved; thus, the final reduced model corresponding to the new design is obtained easily and rapidly. Here, the formulation of the proposed method is derived in detail, and its computational efficiency and reanalysis ability are demonstrated through several engineering problems, including a topological modification.

  • Tracking a target of versatile maneuver recently demands a stable adaptation of tracker, and the multiple model techniques are being developed because of its ability to produce useful information of target maneuver. This paper presents the way to apply the multiple model method in a moving-target and moving-platform scenario, and the estimation and prediction results better than those of single Kalman filter.
