  • Fuzzy controller design consists of intuition, and any other information about how to control system, into a set of rules. These rules can then be applied to the system. If the rules adequately control the system, the design work is done well. If the rules are inadequate, the designer must modify the rules. Through this procedure, the system can be controlled. In this paper, we design fuzzy controller composed of two parts, one is balancing controller, the other is angle controller.

  • In this paper, when a robust active noise controller for a small cavity to control the noise induced in the cavity is designed, the Graphical method based on the robust stability and performance requirements is studied. The problem of designing controller that achieve these robust performance conditions is related to minimizing the $H_{\infty}$ norm of the mixed sensitivity function by using $H_{\infty}$ control theory. Also, For design the controller, the loopshaping method which control the weight functions to satisfy the design specification without loss of a robust performance can be used. Therefore, we determined the acceptable design specification with the system characteristics of the small cavity and obtained its robust controller with the robust performance specifications by stability margin.

A Controller Design for a Stability Improvement of an On-Board Battery Charger

  • This paper proposes the controller design for a stability improvement of an on-board battery charger. The system is comprised of a power factor correction (PFC) circuit and phase shift full-bridge DC-DC converter. The PFC circuit performs the control of the DC-link voltage and the input power factor. The DC-DC converter regulates the voltage and the current in the battery using the DC-link voltage. This paper proposes the design method of PI controller for the PFC circuit using a small signal model. The analysis and design of a type-three controller for the DC-DC converter is also presented. A simulation and experiment has been performed on the on-board battery charger and their results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed system.

  • This paper provides an observer-based $H_{\infty}$ controller design method for singular systems with and without time-varying delay by just one LMI condition. The sufficient condition for the existence of controller and the controller design method are presented by perfect LMI (linear matrix inequality) approach. The design procedure involves solving an LMI. The observer-based $H_{\infty}$ controller in the existing results can be constructed from the coupled two or more conditions while the proposed controller design method can be obtained from an LMI condition, which can be solved efficiently by convex optimization. Since the obtained condition can be expressed as an LMI form, all variables including feedback gain and observer gain can be calculated simultaneously by Schur complement and changes of variables. An example is given to illustrate the results.

Analysis and Design of DC-link Voltage Controller in Shunt Active Power Filter

  • This study investigates the inherent influence of a DC-link voltage controller on both DC-link voltage control and the compensation performance of a three-phase, four-wire shunt active power filter (APF). A nonlinear variable-parameter DC-link voltage controller is proposed to satisfy both the dynamic characteristic of DC-link voltage control and steady-state compensation performance. Unlike in the conventional fixed-parameter controller, the parameters in the proposed controller vary according to the difference between the actual and the reference DC-link voltages. The design procedures for the nonlinear voltage controller with variable parameters are determined and analyzed so that the proposed voltage controller can be designed accordingly. Representative simulation and experimental results for the three-phase, four-wire, center-spilt shunt APF verify the analysis findings, as well as the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed DC-link voltage controller.

  • Much of the study has been dong on the design of dual controller that guarantee the stability and improvement of the system performance. A dual controller concept is proposed to consist of first controller estimates the control law and second controller suppresses the combined noises due to numerical error and internal noise as well. These irregular disturbances are not only increasing the fatigue but also destabilize the system because of unwanted output performance. The 'stochastic controller' is used to suppress the irregular random disturbance. Simulation is conducted to reveal that the proposed dual stochastic controller is highly efficient one to control a system hybrid noises.

  • 본 논문은 DSP를 이용한 외란제거 제어기에 기초로 한 강인제어기의 설계기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 외란 관측기의 적용 과정을 살펴보고, 제어기의 효용성을 확인하기 위해 DSP 기반의 하드웨어로 구현하여 외란 관측기의 성능을 확인한다. 결과적으로, 제안한 강인 제어기를 이용함으로써 외란에 대해 시스템을 안정화 시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 제어 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다. 또한, 하드웨어로의 구현이 복잡하지 않기 때문에 산업 현장에 적용이 편리함을 보인다.

  • There are several types of control systems that use fuzzy logic controller as a essential system component. The majority of research work on fuzzy PID controller focuses on the conventional two-input PI or PD type controller. However, fuzzy PID controller design is a complex task due to the involvement of a large number of parameters in defining the fuzzy rule base. In this paper we combined conventional PI type and PD type fuzzy controller and set the initial parameters of this controller from the conventional PID controller gains obtained by Ziegler-Nichols tuning or other coarse tuning methods. After that, by replacing some of these parameters with sing1e neurons and making them to be adjusted by back-propagation learning algorithm we designed a neuro-fuzzy controller which showed good performance characteristics in both computer simulation and actual application.

탐색기 주사루프의 2자유도 강인제어기 설계 (Two Degree of Freedom Robust Controller Design of a Seeker Scan-Loop)

  • The new formulation of designing the two degree of freedom(TDF) robust controller is proposed using $H_{\infty}$optimization and model matching method. In this formulation the feedback controller and feedforward controller are designed in a single step using $H_{\infty}$optimization procedure. Roughly speaking, the feedback controller is designed to meet robust stability and disturbance rejection specifications, while the feedforward controller is used to improve the robust model matching properties of the closed loop system. The proposed formulation will be illustrated and evaluated on a seeker scan-loop. And the performances of TDF robust controller are compared with those of the $H_{\infty}$ controller designed using Loop Shaping Design Procedure proposed by McFarlane and Glover.lover.
