Lane Detection and Tracking Using Classification in Image Sequences

  • We propose a novel lane detection method based on classification in image sequences. Both structural and statistical features of the extracted bright shape are applied to the neural network for finding correct lane marks. The features used in this paper are shown to have strong discriminating power to locate correct traffic lanes. The traffic lanes detected in the current frame is also used to estimate the traffic lane if the lane detection fails in the next frame. The proposed method is fast enough to apply for real-time systems; the average processing time is less than 2msec. Also the scheme of the local illumination compensation allows robust lane detection at nighttime. Therefore, this method can be widely used in intelligence transportation systems such as driver assistance, lane change assistance, lane departure warning and autonomous vehicles.

  • The purpose of this ethnography is to describe and analyze the process of becoming a wild geese mother. Thirteen mothers from New York, California, and Texas of U.S.A. were interviewed with an unstructured questionnaire. There are several different patterns of the process; 'the short term', 're-departure after returning to Korea', 'a step to initiate their family's immigration', 'sudden and unintentional'. In the first stage of the family living rearrangement, the main issues are about the wider free world, proper time for leaving and proper period for staying, where to live and my husband's independent living. The wild geese mothers perform the concrete tasks about the everyday living for the new mother-child family in the foreign country. They report their subjective interpretation for their new life.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a port simulation program for Inchon Port. The arrival and departure data from Inchon Port are analyzed, several probability density functions for the interval time and service time are estimated, and the berthing rules are constructed based on experts experiences. The port simulation program is written in visual basic considering the interarrival p.d.f., service rate p.d.f., berthing rules, and dual-dock system, and is used to analyze the effects of the changes in ship arrival rate and service rate upon the demurrage. It is expected that we can use the simulation results in order to prepare proper service level and to evaluate the appropriate investment strategy to be planned.

  • This paper describes the simulation study which estimates the container crane efficiency in container terminal. In most simulation studies, it is assumed that container cranes are available at any time. Though the failures of container cranes don't occur often, they are very serious problems on terminal efficiency. As usual, the failures of container crane cause arrived ships to delay the departure time. In this study, a queueing simulation model for container terminal, which focuses on the failures of container cranes, is designed. The simulation approach appears to be the most appropriate one because it allows to avoid the usual exponential assumption on interarrivals of ships and service times of container cranes. Using the developed model, we tested the efficiency of container cranes considering failures with a real system size and performed the simulation experiment on real container terminal to validate the developed simulation model. The results of simulation experiment were analyzed using output statistics, which include the waiting times of vessels and yard tractors, the utilization for container cranes, and the berth occupancy rates.

  • The specifications needed for the mobile cranes are summarized as the following : 1) there may be not occured the oscillation of the cargo at unloading point. 2)the required time from departure point to destination point may be as short as possible. 3) there may be not a collapse of cargo caused by the oscillation in the course that the crago is mobilling. In this paper, the linear fractional transformation method is adopted as a method in order to improve the above mentioned problems. A design method of servo system is developed by modifying Davison's method for the case that the homogeneous differential equations of reference input and disturbance are different types. The real time control of a mobile crane system is implemented by 16bits microcomputer with A/D and D/A converters to illustrate the application of the adopted method. The experimental results for the three types of the design methods; linear fractional transformation method, servo system design method and optimal control method are shown for the comparison.

Performance Analysis of Space-Time Codes in Realistic Propagation Environments: A Moment Generating Function-Based Approach

  • In this paper, we derive analytical expressions for the exact pairwise error probability (PEP) of a space-time coded system operating over spatially correlated fast (constant over the duration of a symbol) and slow (constant over the length of a code word) fad­ing channels using a moment-generating function-based approach. We discuss two analytical techniques that can be used to evaluate the exact-PEPs (and therefore, approximate the average bit error probability (BEP)) in closed form. These analytical expressions are more realistic than previously published PEP expressions as they fully account for antenna spacing, antenna geometries (uniform linear array, uniform grid array, uniform circular array, etc.) and scattering models (uniform, Gaussian, Laplacian, Von-mises, etc.). Inclusion of spatial information in these expressions provides valuable insights into the physical factors determining the performance of a space-time code. Using these new PEP expressions, we investigate the effect of antenna spacing, antenna geometries and azimuth power distribution parameters (angle of arrival/departure and angular spread) on the performance of a four-state QPSK space-time trellis code proposed by Tarokh et al. for two transmit antennas.

Traffic Regulation Algorithm for Metro Lines with Time Delay (시간지연에 따른 열차의 운행간격 제어알고리즘)

  • When a train is delayed because of a disturbance, the time interval deviation between successive trains increases, and high frequency metro lines can become unstable. Thus, it is necessary to control the traffic regularity to prevent any such instability. In this paper, we propose a simple but effective traffic regulation algorithm that gurantees system stability. In the proposed method, the control algorithm for running time is designed using a discrete traffic model where control input is determined from a linear combination of departure time deviations and control input of the preceding train to ensure an optimal time interval between successive trains. The results of the computer simulation are also given to demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm.

Synchronization Phenomenon between Export Weight & Control Volume, Inland Cargo, Export Cargo, Ship Departure (수출중량과 관제탑관제량, 내항화물입항, 수출화물수송 그리고 선박출항과의 동조화현상)

  • The purpose of this study is to look for the relationship between export weight and control volume, inland cargo, export cargo transport, ship departure. The analysis period were used for a total of 113 monthly data from January 2011 to May 2020. Data were retrieved from the Korean Statistical Information Service of the Statistics Korea. The data used in this study were performed numerical analysis, index analysis and model analysis using the rate of change from the same month of the previous year. In the trend of the increase rate, the amount of control has plummeted from 150% to 60% due to the influence of Corona 19 in the beginning of 2020. At the same time, export weight and export cargo transport also decreased. As a result of the analysis, export weight showed relatively high synchronization with export cargo transport and control volume. On the other hand, export weight and inland cargo showed relatively low synchronization. Export weight is expected to continue in 2020 after the fluctuation rate began to decrease after 2019. If we can find the point of rebound in control volume or export cargo transport in the future, we can predict the point of increase in export weight. We expect to see an increase in export weight as soon as possible.

Transmission edge of each lens that do spray to same warelength showed sameinwavelength spectra. Being storehouse absorption edgethat increase 385, 398 and 417nm region of when do spray for 2, 4 and 6 minutes, band is accomplishing each 3.22, 3.11, 2.97 eV.

A Parametric Study on Optimal Earth-Moon Transfer Trajectory Design Using Mixed Impulsive and Continuous Thrust (혼합 추력 방식의 지구-달 최적 전이궤적 설계인자에 따른 비교연구)

  • This paper presents the results of a parametric study for the design of optimal Earth-Moon transfer trajectory using mixed impulsive and continuous thrust. Various types of the optimal Earth-Moon transfer trajectories were designed by adjusting the relative weight between the impulsive and the continuous thrust, and flight time. Two very different transfer trajectories can be obtained by different combination of design parameters. Furthermore, it was found that all thus designed trajectories permit the ballistic capture by the Moon gravity. Finally, the required thrust profiles are presented and analyzed in detail.
