Electric motors for electric vehicles differ in efficiency characteristics depending on the operation modes, studies for evaluating high efficiency characteristics in low speed and high speed operation modes are very important. Therefore, it is necessary to design method that can change the high torque, high output density, and high efficiency characteristics of driving motors for electric vehicles. In this paper, the diameter ratio of stator and rotor for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor is change of designed 0.62, 0.65, and 0.68, respectively, and the efficiency characteristics of the entire operation section, average efficiency characteristics of the city driving modes and express highway driving modes are analyzed. As a result of analyzing the efficiency characteristics of the entire operating section, it was confirmed that as the diameter ratio increases, the high efficiency section moves to the low speed and low torque section and the high efficiency section moves to the high speed and low torque neighborhood as the diameter ratio decreases. As a result of analyzing the average efficiency characteristics in the city driving modes and express highway driving modes, the average efficiency of 0.68 model is analyzed to be more efficient than the 0.63 and 0.65 model ratio, and it is confirmed that it is suitable for city driving modes and express highway driving modes.

In this paper, novel chip-on-chip(CoC) flip-chip bump structures using chip-on-wafer(CoW) process technology are proposed, designed and fabricated, and their microwave frequency responses are analyzed. With conventional bumps of Cu pillar/SnAg and Cu pillar/Ni/SnAg and novel Polybenzoxazole(PBO)-passivated bumps of Cu pillar/SnAg, Cu pillar/Ni/SnAg and SnAg with the deposition option of $2^{nd}$ Polyimide(PI2) layer on the wafer, 10 kinds of CoC samples are designed and their frequency responses up to 20 GHz are investigated. The measurement results show that the bumps on the wafers with PI2 layers are better for the batch flip-chip process and have average insertion loss of 0.14 dB at 18 GHz. The developed bump structures for chips with fine-pitch pads show similar or slightly better insertion loss of 0.11~0.14 dB up to 18 GHz, compared with that of 0.13~0.17 dB of conventional bump structures in this study, and we find that they could be utilized in various microwave packages for high integration density.
To estimate the stability of a debris flow it is necessary to know the mass of surface soil, cohesion, slope, and friction angle. Given that the mass of surface soil is a function of soil thickness and mass density, it is important to obtain reliable estimates of soil thickness across a wide area. The objective of this paper is to estimate soil thickness using the elastic wave velocity with a new standard velocity. Tests are performed in debris-flow hazard areas, after which four profiles are selected to obtain the elastic wave velocity. Dynamic cone penetration tests are carried out to find the soil thickness at 18 points. The elastic wave velocity shows the area consists of 3~4 layers, and soil thicknesses are predicted by utilizing the new standard. The elastic wave velocity and dynamic cone penetration tests yield large differences in soil thickness. Therefore, this study shows that the new standard is useful not only in estimating soil thickness but also in improving the reliability of estimates of soil thickness.

A spent fuel storage cask is required to prove the safety of a canister under a hypothetical accidental drop condition. A hypothetical accidental drop condition means that a canister is assumed to be a lee drop on to a pad of the storage cask during loading it into a storage cask. A pad of the storage cask absorbs shock to maintain the structural integrities of a canister under a hypothetical accidental drop condition. In this paper a finite element analysis for various pad structures was carried out to improve the structural integrity of a canister under a hypothetical accidental drop condition. A pad of a storage cask was designed a steel structure with concrete. The 1/4 height of a pad was modified with a structure composed of a steel and a polyurethane foam as a impact limiter. The effect of a shape of a steel structure was studied. The effects of the thickness of a steel structure and the density of a polyurethane foam was also studied.

This study was conducted to investigate the antimicrobial activity of Ginkgo biloba L. leaves, seed and outer seedcoat against bacteria. Antimicrobial effects of Ginkgo biloba L. leaves (GBL), seed (GBS) and outer seedcoat (GBO) were examined by paper disc method and optical density method to determine minimum inhibition concentration (MIC), and observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) to figure out the morphological change on the surface when Ginkgo biloba leaves extract was treated. The extracts of GBL, GBS and GBO were extracted by solvents such as methanol, ethanol, water. The methanol extract of GBL and GBO showed the highest antimicrobial activity against Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella Typhimurium, Staphylococcus aureus, Yersinia enterocolitica except Escherichia coli and thus was further fractionated. The MICs of the chloroform fraction of GBL methanol extract were $125{\mu}g$/mL against B. subtilis, and L. monocytogenes; GBO methanol extract were $62.5{\mu}g$/mL against B. cereus and $125{\mu}g$/mL against B. subtilis, and L. monocytogenes. The microorganisms were treated with chloroform extracts ($2000{\mu}g$/mL) of GBL and GBO methanol extracts. It was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The cells were expanded and a part of cell wall was completely destructed by GBL and GBO. Thus Ginkgo biloba L. leaves and outer seedcoat could be further developed into a natural antimicrobial agent.

IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol standard, DCF(CSMA/CA), is originally designed to ensure the fair channel access between mobile nodes sharing the local wireless channel. It has been, however, revealed that some misbehavior nodes transmit more data than other nodes through artificial means in hot spot area spreaded rapidly. The misbehavior nodes may modify the internal process of their MAC protocol or interrupt the MAC procedure of normal nodes to achieve more data transmission. This problem has been referred to as a selfish node problem and almost literatures has proposed methods of analyzing the MAC procedures of all mobile nodes to detect the selfish nodes. However, these kinds of protocol analysis methods is not effective at detecting all kinds of selfish nodes enough. This paper address this problem of detecting selfish node using Tsallis-Entropy which is a kind of statistical method. Tsallis-Entropy is a criteria which can show how much is the density or deviation of a probability distribution. The proposed algorithm which operates at a AP node of wireless LAN extracts the probability distribution of data interval time for each node, then compares the one with a threshold value to detect the selfish nodes. To evaluate the performance of proposed algorithm, simulation experiments are performed in various wireless LAN environments (congestion level, how selfish node behaviors, threshold level) using ns2. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves higher successful detection rate.

In this paper, we designed a FPU(floating point unit) that it is very important and requires of high density when digital audio is designed. Almost audio system must support the multi-channel and required for high quality. A floating point arithmetic function in MPEG-2 AAC that implemented by hardware is able to realtime decoding when DSP realization. The reason is that MPEG-2 AAC is compatible to the Audio field of MPEG-4 and afterwards. We designed a FPU by hardware to increase the speed of a floating point unit with much calculation part in the MPEG-2 AAC Decoder. A FPU is composed of a multiplier and an adder. A multiplier used the Radix-4 Booth algorithm and an adder adopted 1's complement method for speed up. A form of a floating point unit has 8bit of exponent part and 24bit of mantissa. It's compatible with the IEEE single precision format and adopted a pipeline architecture to increase the speed of a processor. All of sub blocks are based on ISO/IEC 13818-7 standard. The algorithm is tested by C language and the design does by use of VHDL(VHSIC Hardware Description Language). The maximum operation speed is 23.2MHz and the stable operation speed is 19MHz.

n this paper, we have fabricated pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistors (PHEMT) with a 0.2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ wide-head T-shaped gate using electron beam lithography by a dose split method. To make the T-shape gate with gate length of 0.2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and gate head size of 1.3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ we have used triple layer resist structure of PMMA/P(MMA-MAA)/PMMA. The DC characteristics of PHEMT, which has 0.2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of gate length, 80 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ of unit gate width and 4 gate fingers, are drain current density of 323 ㎃/mm and maximum transconductance 232 mS/mm at $V_{gs}$ = -1.2V and $V_{ds}$ = 3V. The RF characteristics of the same device are 2.91㏈ of S21 gain and 11.42㏈ of MAG at 40GHz. The current gain cut-off frequency is 63GHz and maximum oscillation frequency is 150GHz, respectively.ively.

Recently, the number of systems which utilize wireless power transmission to a receiving module in a short distance is increasing. For efficient use of receiving space, coils are wound around the ferrite core to produce electromotive force(emf) in suppling power by wireless transmission. This paper analyzed the magnetic flux density distribution in the ferrite core in magnetic field environment which is uniformly oriented along to a single axis at 125kHz. For numerical analysis, Ansoft Maxwell which is applying the FEM(Finite Element Method) method was used. We studied the variations of the gathered magnetic fluxes to the changes of the relative permeabilities of the ferrite cores. Also we calculated the magnetic flux variation by shaving the ferrite core off for the groove of coil winding. Results showed that using a small ferrite core in magnetic field at 100kHz band can increase the amount of magnetic flux $3{\sim}4 times$ than without the core. The magnetic flux decreased 23% by shaving the core 0.5 mm on the periphery of 4.75 mm radius core with the relative permeability 800.

In this paper we analyze the performance of an adaptive sector cell system, which is adopted to maintain the traffic balance between sectors and to utilize the cell resources effectively, using the data collected from real channel environments. In the data measurements, we transmitted the QPSK modulated signal with carrier frequency of 1.95GHz and received the signals using the 8x4 array antenna equipped on the top of buildings in the urban area. We analyzed the angular distribution and the delay spread of a user signal and analyzed angular distribution of mobile users in a cell using the collected data. Also, we propose the vector channel modeling using the estimated pdf(probability distribution function) of the analyzing results. Through the proposed channel modeling the improvement of the call blocking rate was analyzed when using the adaptive sector cell system, and computer simulations show that the call blocking rate of the adaptive sector cell system was much lower than that of the fixed sector cell system. Additionally, it shows that the call blocking rate increases severely in the fixed sector cell system while the difference of the call blocking rate was smaller in the adaptive sector cell system, as the user density of the spatial distribution increases.
