Prospect of Treatment with Herb Medicine for Developmental Delay of Language and Intelligence Quotient (어지와 지능지수에 대한 한약치료의 전망)

  • It is widely assumed that Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is determined by inherent disposition and environmental factor. IQ is estimated by age-conversion score and stabilized around age 4 and IQ of adult age can be predicted after age 10. Though children with Mental Retardation (MR) are delayed in language development since early infant period, they receive only special education including speech and language therapy, but no special medication. In traditional Korean medicine, the etiology and treatment for developmental delay of language have been handed down for a long time. Some studies on herbs and prescriptions for improving language development have been undertaken recently. We have found several cases of significant elevation of IQ in the children treated with long term medications of Korean herbal medicine for improvement of language. Analyzing these cases, especially performance IQ showed significant change. Therefore we suggest that Korean herbal medicine might improve cognition development in children with MR.

The Effect of Waiting Environment of Airline Service and Airport Service on Perceived Waiting Time and Service Satisfaction (항공서비스와 공항서비스의 대기환경이 지각된 대기시간과 서비스만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to prove that the effect of waiting environment on perceived waiting time and service satisfaction of airline service and airport service procedure. Methods: Survey was conducted by questionnaires that were distributed to international airlines passengers. Survey data were collected 276 copies from 300 copies then analyzed using factor analysis and multi-regression analysis. The measurements of airline service procedure were divided by airlines service and airport service. Airline service segregated as before boarding and after boarding then airport service can be separated before boarding and after deplane by service procedure. Results: According to result, hypotheses were partially accepted. Human environment and Physical environment of airport service before boarding and after deplane were accepted. However perceived waiting time had effect on service satisfaction both airline and airport services. Thus some of variables are correlated among waiting environment. Acceptability as moderating variable has differences on high acceptable group and low acceptable group. Though waiting and delay were caused by controllable or uncontrollable reasons, there are certain negative feeling on waiting and delay on physical environment of airline service. Especially controllable delay and waiting are more negative than uncontrollable reasons. Conclusion: Some suggestions that given from researcher should be implemented to the airline industry to reduce perceived waiting time specially airport service procedure academically and practically.

A Study on Accuracy Improvement of SBAS Ionospheric Correction Using Electron Density Distribution Model

  • This paper proposed a method to estimate the vertical delay from the slant delay, which can improve accuracy of the ionospheric correction of SBAS. Proposed method used Chapman profile which is a model for the vertical electron density distribution of the ionosphere. In the proposed method, we assumed that parameters of Chapman profile are given and the vertical ionospheric can be modeled with linear function. We also divided ionosphere into multi-layer. For the verification, we converted slant ionospheric delays to vertical ionospheric delays by using the proposed method and generated the ionospheric correction of SBAS with vertical delays. We used International Reference Ionosphere (IRI) model for the simulation to verification. As a result, the accuracy of ionospheric correction from proposed method has been improved for 17.3% in daytime, 10.2% in evening, 2.1% in nighttime, compared with correction from thin shell model. Finally, we verified the method in the SBAS user domain, by comparing slant ionospheric delays of users. Using the proposed method, root mean square value of slant delay error decreased for 23.6% and max error value decreased for 27.2%.

Emotion-aware Task Scheduling for Autonomous Vehicles in Software-defined Edge Networks

  • Autonomous vehicles are gradually being regarded as the mainstream trend of future development of the automobile industry. Autonomous driving networks generate many intensive and delay-sensitive computing tasks. The storage space, computing power, and battery capacity of autonomous vehicle terminals cannot meet the resource requirements of the tasks. In this paper, we focus on the task scheduling problem of autonomous driving in software-defined edge networks. By analyzing the intensive and delay-sensitive computing tasks of autonomous vehicles, we propose an emotion model that is related to task urgency and changes with execution time and propose an optimal base station (BS) task scheduling (OBSTS) algorithm. Task sentiment is an important factor that changes with the length of time that computing tasks with different urgency levels remain in the queue. The algorithm uses task sentiment as a performance indicator to measure task scheduling. Experimental results show that the OBSTS algorithm can more effectively meet the intensive and delay-sensitive requirements of vehicle terminals for network resources and improve user service experience.

  • The factors of uncertainty such as work delay could cause many problems, for example, increase of construction cost and terms of work, and the deterioration of quality. Because of these, the uncertainty risk is regarded as an important management factor to obtain the success of construction project. So, the systematic management plan about the uncertainty factors is needed because it plays an important role in the completion of entire project. And also analysis of some factors which can cause the work delay can be one way of improving construction project's certainty and making it competitive. In this reason, we have to make an effort to set a priority based on analysis of quantitatively numerical value about work delay factors to manage them effectively. Thus, this study aims to suggest the basic data for the effective management and prevention of work delay in steel-frame work which is progressive actively now, along with increasing of demand of high-rise buildings by analyzing each reasons of work delay factors and also by suggesting important management factors that are coded according to each construction work using FMEA method which could give a data about the importance of work delay factors through quantitatively numerical value.

  • Construction project involves numerous repetitive operations. Especially in high-rise and apartment houses projects, the amount of repetitive operations increase and a preceding operations delay causes serious damage to the total duration of the project. This study deducts work delay factors by site engineer interview and survey. The study analyzes daily report data to deduct crucial processes affecting masonry work which has been investigated to be one of preliminary processes conducted at the beginning of finish work.

Development of a Consumption Self-regulation Scale (소비에 대한 자기조절척도 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a standardized scale to measure consumption self-regulation. A preliminary 38-item scale was developed through a literature review. One thousand-twelve consumers responded to an online survey using the preliminary scale. A series of tests, such as test-retest, item-to-total correlation, Cronbach's reliability coefficient and factor analysis, were conducted using the survey data and a final scale comprising 30 items was then constructed. The consumption self-regulation scale consisted of four factors: (1) impulse control, (2) gratification delay, (3)self-reliance, and (4) self-management.

  • Computer software has gradually become an indispensable elements in many aspects of our daily lives and an important factor in numerous systems. In recent years, it is not unusual that the software cost is more than the hardware cost in many situations. In addition to the costs of developing software, the repair cost resulting from the software failures are even more significant. In this paper, a cost model with warranty cost, time to remove each fault detected in the software system, and delivery delay cost is developed. We use a software reliability model based on non-homogeneous Poisson process (NHPP). We discuss the optimal release policies to minimize the expected total software cost. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the results.

  • The calculation of parameters of a process model is modified to find that better sliding mode controller for a process with time delay. A design method by Camacho has such problems as chattering, overshoot due to the Pade approximation errors for the time delay term of the first order model. In this paper, a new design technique for a sliding mode controller is proposed by introducing the modified Pade approximation considering the weight factor. The modified method is expected to provide a more accurate model with better control settings.

Determination of Intersection Level of Service Based on Intersection Delay Measures (교차로지체측정치에 의한 교차로 서비스수준결정에 관한 연구)

  • 1965년에 출판된 고속도로용량교범(Highway Capacity Manual)은 고속도로, 도시 및 지방도로의 용량과 서비스수준을 판단하는데 기본서 역할을 해왔다. 도시내 신호등이 있는 교차로의 서비스수준은 빈하율(load factor) 개념을 이용하여 산정해 왔다. 그러나 푸른신호 주기동안 차량의 교차로이용도를 기준으로 하는 빈하율 개념은 서비스 수준의 측정치로서 한계가 있고 또 그동안 신호체계가 많이 개선되었고 운전자의 통행행태가 크게 변화하여 1970년대 중반부터 한계통행분석법(Critical Movement Analysis)과 차량의 교차로지체시간 측정법(Intersection Delay)등과 같은 새로운 기법이 소개되었다. 본 논문은 최근에 많이 이 용되고 있는 교차로지체시간측정법의 유용성을 검증하기 위해 15개 교차로의 차량통행량을 기준으로 하여 V/C비를 계산하는 한계통행분석법에 의한 측정치와 비교, 분석하였다. 그 결 과 교차로의 서비스수준을 측정하는데 양자의 방법에 의한 측정치가 크게 다르지 않음을 발 견하였다. 즉 도시내 신호등이 있는 교차로시설을 개선하기 위해 대략적인 교차로 서비스수 준을 측정할 경우 조사인원 및 비용이 많이 소요되는 한계통행분석법보다 조사가 간편하고 비용이 적게 드는 교차로지체시간측정법이 유용함을 밝혔다.
