수종의 레진 시멘트의 용해도와 수분흡착에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE SOLUBILITY AND THE WATER SORPTION OF VARIOUS RESIN CEMENTS)

  • Statement of problem. Among the physical properties of adhesion luting cement, the aspect that requires the most important factor is the degree of solubility and water sorption. Dissolution or an inadequate due to excessive water sorption inside the oral cavity compromises the while concurrently increasing the susceptibility to secondary dental caries. Susceptibility to dissolution and difficulty of removing remnant cement from the gingival sulcus have hindered the use of dental resin cement in the clinical practice, but the improved characteristics of newer generation resin cements have interest in and enabled resin cements to be widely used in adhesion of fixed prosthesis, such as laminate veneers and all-ceramic crowns. Purpose. The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the degrees of solubility and water sorption of a variety of resin cements widely used for clinical purposes with different curing methods. Material and methods. Self-curing resin cements, $Avanto^{(R)}$, $C&B^{TM}$ CEMENT and Superbond C&B cements comprised group 1, 2 and 3. The dual-curing resin cements $Panavian^{TM}$ F, $Calibra^{(R)}$ and $Variolink^{(R)}$ II were divided into groups 4, 5, and 6, respectively. The investigation was carried out using disc-shaped specimens as specified by ANSI/ADA Specification No. 27. The degree of water sorption, water solubility and lactic acid solubility of each test group was analyzed statistically leading to the following conclusion. Results. The degree of water sorption was shown to increase in the following order : group 6, 5, 4, 2, 1 and 3. There were significant differences between the water sorption of each group. Results of the degree of water solubility were shown to increase in the following order : group 6, 5, 4, 2, 1 and 3. Statistically significant differences were found between each group, with the exception of groups 1 and 3. Finally, the degree of lactic acid solubility was found to increase in the following order : group 6,5,4,2,3 and 1. Significant differences were found between each group. In general dual-curing resin cements displayed substantially lower values than self-curing resin cements with regard to water sorption, water solubility, and lactic acid solubility. Conclusions. From the results of this study, dual-curing resin cements show a significantly lower degree of water sorption and solubility than their self-curing counterparts. Clinically, when selecting resin cements, the product with a lower degree of water sorption and solubility are preferred. The results of this study indicate that the use-of dual-curing resin cements is preferable to self-curing cements.

Equilibrium Sorption of Heavy Metals (Pb, Cu. Zn, Cd) onto Scoria

  • Scoria is a bomb-sized, generally vesicular pyroclast that is red or black in color and light in weight. In this study, scoria from Cheju was examined for the use as a sorbent. It is composed of plagioclase, olivine, hornblende, pyroxene, and glass, with an average composition of 49.84% SiO$_2$, 14.07% A1$_2$O$_3$, End 9.14% Fe$_2$O$_3$. Studies on kinetic isotherm sorption of Zn(II) onto scoria under various parameters such as initial zinc concentration, particle size, and adsorbent/adsorbate ratio were carried out using an agitated batch. The results suggest that the smaller scoria size and the larger adsorbent/adsorbate ratio produce the higher degree of Zn(II) removal. More effective removal also appears at lower initial Zn concentration. The sorption behavior of Zn(II) onto scoria seems to be mainly controlled by cation exchange. Studies on equilibrium isotherm sorption of other heavy metals (Pb, Cu, Cd) onto scoria were also conducted and compared with those onto powdered activated carbon (PAC) and non-organic matter scoria (NOS), The results suggest that the Cheju scoria has the slightly higher sorption capability than PAC and NOS, and the order of the effective sorption onto scoria and PAC is Pb > Cu > Zn > Cd. The monometal sorption onto scoria is more stronger than the competitive sorption.

Removal of radioactive methyliodide from the gas stream with a composite sorbent based on polyurethane foam

  • A composite iodine sorbent was obtained in the form of porous polymer matrix with activated carbon particles impregnated with triethylenediamine deposited on its surface. A comparative assessment of the radioactive methyliodide capturing efficiency by the composite sorbent and a sample of industrial charcoal sorbent was conducted. It was shown that under the selected testing conditions, the hydraulic resistance of the composite sorbent is lower, and the sorption capacity is higher than that of the industrial charcoal sorbent. A method for comparing the effectiveness of iodine sorbents, based on the calculation of the ratio of the sorption capacity index to the minimum capacity index, needed for the required purification degree was proposed.

  • PVA의 수산화기와 PAA의 카르복실산기 사이의 반응에 의해 가교구조를 갖는 PAA-PVA 막을 제조하였으며 팽윤실험을 통해 순수물, 순수초산 그리고 이들의 혼합물하에서의 가교막들의 팽윤거동을 각각 살펴보았다. 90wt% 초산 수용액하에서의 팽윤실험에서 막에 PAA함량이 높을때 물의 팽윤거동이 초산보다 더 촉진됨이 관찰되었는데 이는 팽윤과정에서의 각 구성 성분간의 짝짓기(coupling) 결과로 사료되며 또한 막의 팽윤비와 가교밀도는 경쟁적으로 투과물의 투과거동에 서로 상반되게 영향을 끼침이 관찰이 되었다. 온도에 따른 투과속도의 Arrhenius 관계에서 구한 투과활성화에너지를 통해 투과성분의 투과거동을 분석하였다.

CMC섬유내의 양이온이 섬유의 흡습성과 인장 성질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Cations on the Sorption and the Tensile Properties of CMC Fibers)

  • The Purpose of this study was to improve the moisture related properties of viscose rayon fibers. Viscose rayon filament yarns were partially etherified to make CMC fibers. CMC fibers were converted to the sodium, calcium, and ferric salt forms by an ion exchange method. The property changes of ion exchanged CMC fibers were examined. Cation contents of fibers were varied depending on the degree of substitution of CMC fibers. The strength of Na, Ca, Fe-CMC was higher than H-CMC owing to the plasticization by moisture sorption and the crosslinking by cations. The moisture regain was increased by carboxymethylation and that of Fe-CMC showed the highest value. The degree of swelling determined by the water retention value was observed to be Na-CMC > Ca-CMC > H-CMC > Fe-CMC. The solution retention value was decreased in the order . Ca-CMC > Na-CMC > H-CMC > Fe-CMC.

콩의 흡습 및 조리성질 (Moisture Sorption and Cooking Properties of Soybeans)

  • 우리나라 장려콩 2품종(장엽과 황금)을 대상으로 흡습 및 조리성질을 조사하였다. 시료콩을 상대습도 $33{\sim}86%$, 온도 $16^{\circ}C$에서 125시간 저장할 때 상대습도 33%와 44%에서는 탈습, 그 이상의 저장습도에서는 흡습현상을 보여주었다. 흡습속도는 저장시간에 따라 크게 감소하였으며, 그 절대값은 저장습도가 높을수록 컸었다. 저장시간과 흡습속도와의 관계는 흡습속도식 $log\frac{dw}{dt}=b\;logt+loga$(여기에서 w는 수분함량, t는 시간, b와 a는 상수)에 잘 적용되었으며, 식에서 구한 수분함량과 실측치는 일치 하였다. 한편 $106{\sim}121^{\circ}C$의 온도에서 증자후 최대절단력으로 조리도를 비교한 결과 증자온도의 상승에 따라 일정한 조리도에 도달하는 시간은 대수적으로 감소하였다. 일정한 조리도를 나타내는 온도-시간과의 관계로부터 구한 z-값은 장엽콩이 $13.3^{\circ}C$, 황금콩이 $12.8^{\circ}C$이었다.

Fenamiphos Sulfoxide 농약(農藥)의 토양중(土壤中) 흡착측정법(吸着測定法) 개발(開發) (Development of Sorption Measurement Method for Fenamiphos Sulfoxide in Soil)

  • Fenamiphos sulfoxide(f. sulfoxide) 농얍(農藥)의 토양중(土壤中) 흡착측정(吸着測定)에서 적합한 농약용액(農藥溶液)에 대한 토양시료(土壤試料) 비율(比率)과 흡착평형시간(吸着平衡時間)을 결정(決定)하기 위한 시험(試驗)을 수행(遂行)하였다. 시험(試驗)에 사용(使用)한 토양(土壤)은 미국(美國) Hawaii의 Wahiawa 토양(土壤)(3개(個) 토층시험(土層試料))과 California의 Salinas 토양(土壤)(2개(個) 토양시료(土層試料))이었다. 시험(試驗)에 사용(使用)한 농약용액(農藥溶液)대 토양시료비율(土壤試料比率)은 2 : 1과 5 : 1등 2수준이었으며, 흡착평형시간(吸着平衡時間)은 4, 12, 24, 48시간등 4수준이었다. 농약용액(農藥溶液)대토양시료비율(土壤試料比率) 2 : 1에서는 완전한 혼합(混合)이 어려웠으며, 5 : 1이 흡착력(吸着力)이 낮은 Wahiawa 토양(土壤)의 심토(深土)에서 흡착률(吸着率)이 낮아 바람직하지는 못했으나, 혼합(混合)을 고려(考慮)하면 권장되는 비율(比率)이었다. 흡착(吸着)은 4시간(時間)에는 Apparent 평형(平衡)에 도달하고 24시간까지는 서서히 증가하였다. 그후 48시간 까지 빠른 속도로 증가하였는데, 이는 Sulfoxide 화합물(化合物)이 흡착력이 큰 Sulfone 형태(形態)로 변화(變化)되고 있음을 시사한다. 따라서 24시간(時間)의 흡착평형(吸着平衡) 시간(時間)이, 이보다 짧은 시간(時間)에서 불완전한 흡착(吸着)과 이보다 긴 시간(時間)에서 형태변화(形態變化)에 의한 과다흡착(過多吸着)을 고려(考慮)하여, 바람직할 것으로 생각되었다.

탈지대두분해물(脫脂大豆分解物)의 흡습특성 (Characterization of Water Sorption for Defatted Soybean Hydrolysates)

  • 탈지대두를 파파인 및 ${\alpha}$-아밀라아제를 사용하여 분해시켜 얻은 탈지대두분해물의 흡습특성을 조사하였고 이를 이용하여 모형 중간수분식품을 제조하였다. 탈지 대두분해물의 등온흡혼곡선(等溫吸混曲線)은 단백질 및 전분질이 많이 분해될 수록 동일한 수분함량에서 수분활성도가 저하되었으며 BET 일분자층값(BET monolayer value)은 증가 하였다. 단백질분해정도가 약 78%인 탈지대두분해물의 보수력은 슈크로오스보다 높았으며 소르비틀에 조금 뒤 떨어졌다. 탈지대두분해물의 등온흡습곡선에 가장 적합한 식은 Oswin식이었고 단백질 분해가 많이 진행된 경우에는 Halsey식이 가장 적합하였다. 쌀가루와 탈지대두분해물로 제조한 모형(模型) 중간수분식품(中間水分食品)은 Grover식과 Lang 및 Steinberg식으로 수분활성도를 예측할 수 있었다. 탈지대두분해물을 첨가하여 제조한 식빵에서는 저장성이 향상(向上)됨을 관찰하였다.

카르복실 이온교환수지의 암모니아 흡착에 대한 전위차 적정곡선 (The Potentiometric Titration Curves on Ammonia Absorption of Carboxylic Ion Exchanger)

  • 본 연구에서는 카르복실산 약산성 양이온교환수지인 Fiban K-4를 이용하여 $NH_4OH$ 용액에서의 가수분해 정도와 전위차 적정곡선에 의한 암모니아 흡착 특성을 알아보았다. 여러가지 농도의 지지전해질 $(NH_4)_2SO_4$에서 $NH_4OH$의 농도에 따른 pH 값은 실험 값과 이론 값이 잘 일치되었다. 암모니아의 평행 흡착곡선으로부터 pH에 따른 이온교환수지의 $NH_3$ 흡착량을 계산할 수 있었다. 또한 지지전해질의 농도가 낮아지거나 pH가 감소함에 따라 가수분해 정도가 증가하는 것을 알 수 있으며, 전해질의 농도가 감소함에 따라 0.01 M 이하의 모노 이온형태를 갖기 위해서는 pH값을 증가시켜야 하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 이들의 결과로부터 전해질의 농도와 pH의 값이 결정된다.

캄보디아산 케이폭 섬유의 소수성에 영향을 미치는 성분규명 (Identification of Hydrophobic Components in Cambodian Kapok Fiber)

  • Hydrophobic property of Kapok fiber was investigated by sequential removal of its components by different extraction methods. Acetone extraction for the removal of the hydrophobic extractives, holo-cel-lulose preparation after the removal of lignin and xylan extraction by potassium hydroxide was applied. The degree of hydrophobicity of each samples were measured by the water sorption ability. The water sorption ability of Kapok fiber was increased by the sequential treatment of acetone extraction, holocellulose preparation and xylan removal. Based on holocellulose compositional analysis by $^1H$-NMR spectroscopic method, the unusual high amount of the acetyl groups in the holocellulose of Kapok partially contributed to the hydrophobicity of Kapok holocellulose fiber.
