In this study, we developed a global ionosphere model based on measurements from a worldwide network of global positioning system (GPS). The total number of the international GPS reference stations for development of ionospheric model is about 100 and the spherical harmonic expansion approach as a mathematical method was used. In order to produce the ionospheric total electron content (TEC) based on grid form, we defined spatial resolution of 2.0 degree and 5.0 degree in latitude and longitude, respectively. Two-dimensional TEC maps were constructed within the interval of one hour, and have a high temporal resolution compared to global ionosphere maps which are produced by several analysis centers. As a result, we could detect the sudden increase of TEC by processing GPS observables on 29 October, 2003 when the massive solar flare took place.

본 연구에서는 작동유체로서 습공기를 사용하였을때 수반되는 응축에 의한 전 압손실을 실험과 수치해석을 통하여 정체점에 있어서의 습공기의 온도, 과포화도 및 노즐 팽창율의 효과와 액적 질량비 (g)과의 관계로서 구명하였다.

This study was carried out in order to investigated the degree of expansion, textural and sensory characteristics of Yukwa made from various cultivars of waxy rice, With 5 varieties of waxy rice and a nonwaxy rice, Yukwa were prepared by the standardized method that had been established optimum preparation conditions. Yukwa made from Shinsunchalbyeo and Whasunchal showed lower degree of expansion than Hangangchalbyeo and IR 29, but showed higher crispness and softer texture among tested waxy rice cultivars. Sensory characteristics of these cultivars showed high score in flavor, crispness and preference. Whasunchalbyeo and Shinsunchalbyeo were appropriate varieties for Yukwa preparation and they were both short grain in length/width. Whasunchalbyeo has the highest score of water uptake and reducing sugar content in Key word.

This study reports on physical properties of the noise radiation caused by expansion of exhaust gas and vibration of pumps according to change of vaccum degree. The fundamental responses show that the sound power level radiated is proportional to the common logarithm of the degree of vaccum.

In this paper, cycle performance analysis of two-stage compression and one-stage expansion refrigeration system applied various refrigerants is presented to offer the basic design data for the operating parameters of the system. The operating parameters considered in this study include degree of superheating and subcooling, compressor efficiency, evaporation temperature, condensing temperature, mass flow rate ration into inter-cooler, effectiveness of internal heat exchanger. The main results were summarized as follows : The COP of two-stage compression and 1-stage expansion refrigeration system increases with the increasing subcooling, mass flow rate ration of inter-cooler, evaporation temperature, but decreases with the increasing condensing temperature and superheating degree. Therefore, subcooling degree, mass flow rate ratio of inter-cooler of two-stage compression and 1-stage expansion using substitute refrigerant have an effect on COP of this system. The COP of alternative refrigerants was higher than the COP of R22 in this study, although the COP of some mixed refrigerants were lower than COP of R22.

To improve resistance in thermal shock of zirconia setter which is frequently and repeatedly exposed to high temperature, high degree of porosity and control of thermal expansion are needed for which the fused CSZ (CaO stabilized zirconia) is used to produce the zirconia setter. In the present study, the effects of sintering temperature, cool down condition, addition of CaO stabilizer, and addition of other additives on phase transition and thermal expansion behavior of the fabrication process of zirconia setter, were examined. The zirconia setter, fabricated with fused CSZ at 1550℃, exhibited 20.4 MPa of flexural strength, 6.8% of absorbance, and 27.9% of apparent porosity. The rapid change in thermal expansion of zirconia setter is observed at temperature around 800℃, and it was reduced by low firing temperature, slowed cooled down, and addition of CaO.

The local loosening of ballast supporting railway tract cause a differential vertical tract settlement. In the bridge, the temperature change make bridge deck to contract and expand, and this movement cause local loosening of ballast on the bridge expansion joint. Therefore, the evaluation of the status of ballast on the bridge expansion joint is important for the track maintenance of the high-speed railway. In this paper, hwaw method was applied to evaluate the status of ballast on the bridge expansion joint. HWAW method is non-destructive test to evaluate 2-D shear wave velocity map along the railway. Shear wave velocity is directly related with status of ballast. In this research, hwaw method was applied two different types of bridges and determine the degree and the range of the ballast loosening caused by movement of the bridge expansion joint.

This study explores the issue of campus expansion of an urban university using an in-depth case study of New York University in New York City, USA. It investigates the physical pattern and development mechanism of the campus expansion process on a city grid structure. The three elements that characterize NYU's recent campus expansion, are (1) the university's commitment to building a student community around a public open space on a subway network, (2) four types of property acquisition and building development practiced by the university with private developers for space leasing, building renovation and development under changing local development circumstances, and (3) the city's initiative for attracting the private sector whose development activities influence the university's development dynamics. These findings suggest that the expansion planning of an urban university, due to its location in a city, should be placed on a local planning agenda, which can positively contribute to public goals through the collaborative engagement of the private and public sectors.

Masks are generated by adding different fonts of learning data characters in pixel unit, and pixel values belonging to each of the masks are divided into 3 groups. Using the directional expansion operators, we expand the text area of the test data character into 4 diagonal directions in order to create the boundary areas to distinguish it from the background area. A mask with a minimum average discordance is selected as the final recognition result by calculating the degree of discordance between the expanded test data and the masks. Image comparison using directional expansion operations more accurately recognizes test data through 4 subdivided recognition processes. It is also possible to expand the ranges of 3 groups of pixel values of masks more evenly such that new fonts can easily be added to the given learning data.
